Redemption Sound

The night of passion ended as explosively as it started. Jessica was covered in sweat and rested her hand on her head. Two violet eyes stared blankly at the ceiling above her head as the fan made its lazy circles. The fan did its best to cool the room but the attempt was futile. Beads of sweat coated Jessica all the way down to her soul. But she had fun. Most girls would have thought River belonged in some gladiator's arena or some underground fight club but Jessica was more than happy that she had been here, with her. They had hugged, they had kissed, and they had fucked each other half to death and back.

For the first time since a while, Jessica was happy. Not in some Disney princess bullshit sort of way. No, it was something a little more mature- River was someone she, well... loved? No, that wasn't the right word. Appreciated. Respected. Wanted to be with. The Violent Violet always felt like she was a lone wolf here in Japan and the wolf pack just got a little bit bigger. Jessica would take a punch for River. Hell, sometimes she took a punch from River. And she kept on punching back.

Jessica rolled over on her side. Her strap-on dangled from her lamp and she was naked without blanket covering her. She pressed her face into the sheets, trying to smell River's anarchy and raw intensity. There was always a ghost of her that she appreciated. Her friend was long gone, probably doing awful things to awful people. But Jessica could still smell her and smiled. River, for all her violence, was more alive than anyone else she met in Japan, and Jessica enjoyed every second with her, even if she had a funny way of showing it.

Soft strains of Jessica's favorite country songs were playing on the radio. She closed her eyes. No more funk. No more depression. Tonight she enjoyed herself and would rest. And tomorrow, she would go to work.
