Exciting news

Ok, I had a look at trying to set up matches myself so that storylines could work out... But discovered that I couldn't be bothered... lol

I started having to look back through bios, and it depended on some members picking certain characters of the ones they still have a choice from. Also I don't know all of the storylines that is going on, I can only tell from what is written in the bios.

So then I took a few stabs at doing it random with a Dice program that I wrote with C#.. unfortunately this wasn't quite working out, mainly because I kept wanting to fiddle some of the results which went against "random selection" code...

After I decide "thats it, what comes out now is what it'll be..." I went through it all, the line up isn't to bad so lets go with this. In the order they were drawn:

It was weird I came last, I guess that was my punishment for fiddling results! Cause I had to draw each match one at a time " title="Razz" />

Have a talk with your opponents, matches might have to be done competitive style because I'm sure everyone will want to win their own matches... But just remember to be fair. However if you both decide you want to plan something out, then thats fine too...

The official start date will be Friday 22nd May, end date will therefore be Sunday 21st June... If you fail to finish in time, a bell will ring *time out* (think of it as being a short 5 minute round) and I will decide (IC Judges decide) a winner for the match based on:

1. promptness of replies
2. lack of god modes or unfair play
3. good RPing
4. who was generally winning during the match.

It is likely that if you power moded your way through most of the match I may side against you with the final decision.. hopefully this will act as a deterrent.. Also, if you a losing, don't try and run down the clock or I will mark you down for that too " title="Razz" />


The only thing left to mention was an idea I had... What would people think about all of the matches supposedly happening the same night? It would mean that by the 2nd and 3rd round match all the characters would be tired and sweaty right from the beginning of the match because they've already faced a couple of opponents just earlier lol. Also if damage was done to a certain area of the body in one match, it would carry on into the next matches (possibly making interesting storyline as well as helping keeping matches short)

Woot! I'm up first. As for your idea Kelsea, it sounds like loads of fun. Would the matches all be taking together, or will there be short "rests" when the other matches are taking place?

All matches will be done at the same time, but in terms of storyline I guess the matches could either take place in a special arena which has 8 rings in the one building so that all the matches are done at the same time... Or be done one after the other in the same ring which would allow a gap.

I guess both ways we do it might have their down sides

One question: If our characters are occupied in a match that's in the ring, will they be unable to do this match as well, or what?

It'll be in the PPV forum, so yes they can. If you have a character occupied in the PPV area too, I'll have to examine the case and make a decision

Ok I've been asked if you can start early... The official start date is this Friday, but you can start now if you like as it seems like everything is in order (however in the unlikely event that I needed to change something major before Friday, it would mean that you might have to start the match again depending on how major the change I make)

I think we'll go with the idea that this is taking place on one day... Only one ring and so each match is being done one after the other, allowing a short break in between wrestlers matches, but signs of fatigue should still be presence (particularly as the tournament goes on and more matches occur).

ps. Oh yes... post your matches in the PPV forum... it is a standard match set to a single fall: pin, submission, KO or count out. I guess I will sticky all the matches. Please "AFW title belt tournament round 1" at the beginning of the first post in bold so that everyone knows

With 8 matches, wouldn't a subforum be better?

We can give it a try, I've created a subforum within the PPV forum.

I will delete it once the tournament is complete

We are half way through the first round of the tournament and approximately half of the matches have finished which is great.

Because of the problem with the forum we had, I may allow an additional week for people to get finished up if the time is required... Due to the disruption that the board going offline caused.
