Avery Shields vs. Blossom Fields - Rookie Showdown!

Was she in over her head?...

Ave panted softly from her uncomfortable and sore seat against the turnbuckle. The crowd was roaring and the cameras were flashing... None of it was certainly for her. It felt overwhelming on top of the damage Blossom had done. Even if this was her first match in the AFW, the young girl had come a long way just to get here. This was her moment, her very first match slipping through her fingers like sand. She had trained so hard, fought unrelentingly for what she thought would be her edge inside this ring. Was this really all she capable of?...

Just moments after Blossom had taken her time to soak up the adoration of the fans, a sudden ominous silence washed over the awe struck crowd only a moment before a pair arms came to wrap around the brunette's waist from behind. Like some kind of hellbent revenant, Avery pulled and squeezed the other woman into nothing short of a death grip before suddenly heaving her opponent upwards. Bending and swinging backwards, Avery would drop into a bridge as she slammed Blossom ruthlessly down on to her head and shoulders--completing a German suplex.

This is nothing. You've seen worse... Lived through worse. Stand up.

The voice that spoke inside the redheaded fighter was cold fury. Powerful and undeniable. Avery was driven. Never releasing her grasp from around her fallen opponent's waist, the tattooed youth twisted and tugged her opponent upright once more. With a deep breath, and counting on the debilitating blow from the first suplex, Avery would once again squeeze Blossom tightly before outright swinging the other girl right off the mat. Once again, Avery's powerful physique would flex and tense as she curled and attempted to slam Blossom into another German suplex. Two German suplexes right in a row!

For one, glorious moment, Blossom was riding on top of the world. Even in her best matches, it was fairly rare for her to have any real domination over her opponent. She could control the match in spurts, turning the tide here and there, but it always slid away from her in the end. Not this time. This time, she'd made a commanding gain, taken the fight straight to Ave and hammered her skillful opponent. The applause that came after were golden and precious, the best response she'd ever gotten out of the crowd. This was going well, almost as well as the match with Silver Ace. Which she'd lost. She tried hard not to overthink that.

Then the moment passed and she felt Ave's powerful arms wrap around her waist. "Oh-" She gulped as she went flying, arms waving about all the way. A german suplex, one of her favorites. "-crud!"

She hit with a loud bang and shook up the ring, pain shooting through skull, her world flashing white for an excruciating moment. That would have been bad enough all by itself, but Ave still had enough gas in the tank for one more, showing off the power of her ripped body. All Blossom could do was let out a quick squeak as she was flung down once again. Was it harder than the last time? She couldn't tell. She couldn't even guess. It hurt far too much for her to really tell.

She fell away from the slam and rolled over to her stomach, kicking her legs about in a frenzy. and nursing her poor, battered skull.

With several deep breathes, Avery was content to simply take a moments rest beside Blossom's more animated form along the ring's canvas. Her emotions had been a tempest and Blossom was the unfortunate outlet for that internalized force of nature. The dark clouds had seem to pass, however, with one glimpse at the brunette's series of distraught--though terribly amusing--reactions. Avery couldn't help but smile, a bit cruelly, at the sight.

"... 'Serves you right for bronco bustering me!"

As if to elaborate on her words, the redheaded youth would sink her fist firmly into the meat of Blossom's nearby thigh, effectively adding a cruel, and mildly playful, charlie horse to Blossom's current torment. Satisfied with that, the tattooed cutie shifted up smoothly, coming to rest on her knees before she brought a gloved hand to wipe away her sweat-stained hair from her glistening face. The crowd was still ecstatic by sudden exchange between the two wrestlers.

Avery felt her vigor mostly beginning to renew along with her confidence. The pressure stepping inside of this ring was undeniable--she had nearly allowed herself to crack. The young, determined, girl knew she was better than that, however. Though the damage was done, the opportunity to actually capitalize on Blossom's condition was likely fading away right in front of Avery's pretty brown eyes. Instead, the redheaded tomboy just sat there beside the brunette.

It was foolish, she knew. But this wasn't a MMA match. Those fundamentals would serve her well in the AFW, however, this ring was for putting on a different kind of show and Blossom wasn't her typical kind of opponent. This was her very first match in the AFW, she was going to savor it.

"You going to lay there all day or are you actually going to attempt to put up a fight?" Avery offered the taunt in a sportive tone as her brown eyes twinkled with their typical youthful exuberance.

Oh, the Bronco Buster. Ave seemed a little perturbed about that. It quite easily explained where that little burst of unadultered rage came from.

"Heh." She rubbed her head and tried to push her way back up...and failed, collapsing flat on her tiny chest. Blossom thought for sure she'd be the more powerful one in this setup, counted on having an advantage when it came to suplexes and slams at a bare minimum, but now she was reevaluating that idea. When this was over, the two of them would have to swap workout notes. Ave was packing a surprising amount of power in that frame. "Yeah, sorry about that. Even steven?"

She smirked at Ave's taunt and showed her defiance to gravity, stubbornly ignoring it as she rose back up. It wasn't an easy going - her head swam from the impact, a little wobbly in knees, and she had to grab a rope to complete the journey. But she did get up and managed to move into her stance. Blossom nodded and faced Ave with fierce eyes and a friendly smile.

"Still got some fight left in me." She wiped her nose and tightened her guard, preparing for the rush. "Come on and try me."

"Yeah, we're even. For now, at least."

A stubborn, and slightly sheepish, smile touched Avery's features as Blossom offered the friendly--if needless--reconciliation. Frickin' bronco bustered in her very first match... Ave just hoped she wasn't actually blushing over the whole thing.

The redhead would watch intently as Blossom made her slow ascent from the mat; the sight made it clear that she had been quite successful in wearing the other girl down. There was little doubt in the young redhead's resolve now; she could win this! However, there was no mistaking the dangerous fire that still twinkled in the brunette's eyes. With the kind of potential power Blossom packed, it wouldn't take much for the momentum to turn once again--the crushing force of the brunette's powerbomb was still quite fresh in the youth's mind, after all. Avery bounced a few times along the mat as she rolled her neck briefly, loosing herself up once more as she prepared to take up Blossom's challenge.

"You got it! Here I come!"

Despite her own caution, there was no doubting Avery's confidence as she wholeheartedly threw herself into Blossom. The tattooed girl once again dared to match her strength squarely up against the smaller, if more stocky, wrestler in another lock up. Ave wasted little time, counting on Blossom's fatigue, as she used brute force to attempt to push the other girl up on to her heels. Clashing fiercely against Blossom, Avery soon shifted her feet before throwing her weight upward into a thrusting knee strike looking to catch the brunette in her already damaged ribs once more. Keeping a firm grasp on the girl in green, Ave hoped the blow would be enough to stun and keel the other girl over--though it was clear that Avery wouldn't allow Blossom to fall to the mat just yet.

The key was to feel no fear. Fear was the mind-killer. Fear was the little death that brought total obliteration.

Blossom's palms were sweat. She could feel the stick in her gloves, the heady scent of their mixing sweat, of whatever they put in their hair getting drained out with the sweat drops. That twinkle in Ave's eye, that smile they both shared. Every time she looked at the fiery fighter, Blossom saw a little of herself reflected. Kindred spirits. Which meant she knew what was coming next: the moment she made it up, Avery would be on her. This wasn't a break.

Sure enough, Avery slammed into her the moment she got her footing, driving her back towards the ropes. She planted her feet and stopped the advance and held her position, kept herself from getting cornered, but that wasn't the only problem she had to contend with. There was also  Ave's knee.

Blossom let out a hoarse cough as the knee's edge dug into stomach and lit up her ribs. Her teeth clinched, her feet buckled, and she almost fell right to her knees, just a foot away from going all the way down...until she surged back upwards and threw her own knee right back into Ave's stomach. She wasn't an MMA fighter by any stretch and it wasn't something she'd normally do, but it was the only thing that popped into her mind. Give as good as she got. Or try to.

"Oof!"

Avery cringed sharply against the retaliative knee strike. Well, that certainly wasn't what she was expecting. Trained or not, Blossom had got her point across.

So, that's how it's going to be?... Well, challenge accepted.
Despite the stinging discomfort at her ribs, a cocky grin found the redhead's lips as her grasp on Blossom suddenly grew more intense. With no hesitation, Avery once again swung her knee directly into Blossom's exposed ribs with the same unrelenting force. Whether the spunky brunette intended to exchange knees with Avery or not, the redhead seemed readily prepared to go blow for blow with Blossom.

"C'mon, let's see what you got!"

Was it time for a little Bangkok Shuffle? If so, this was a dance Avery knew quite well.

Blossom had fairly hard abs, but they weren't bulletproof. Ave proved that when she retaliated with an even harder knee to the stomach, hitting with enough power to drive out all of the wind that the last one didn't. She was holding on for now, but that wasn't going to last. If it came down to a striking war, the MMA fighter would win.

Blossom had to stay true to her own style. Power moves. Throws. Putting her strength to good use. Instead of throwing another knee when she rose up, she dropped dropped the hold and wrapped her arms around Ave's body, bringing her in close and giving her a hard squeeze to keep her in place. It felt good. She had a great body, and Blossom loved the feel of it within her grasp. But she couldn't dawdle, or else she'd pay for it with a black eye.

She jerked back and tried to toss Ave overhead with a classic belly-to-belly suplex, arching her back and throwing her weight into the move.

Unfortunately, it seemed Blossom had other plans. Avery's brazen grin soon vanished as the brunette suddenly shifted directly into her before wrapping the redhead up with a tight squeeze. The sudden pressure was unexpectedly intense, Avery gave an uncomfortable cry while her body cringed and tensed heavily against Blossom's tight hold. With her body pressed firmly with her opponent's, Avery found Blossom's sudden bursts of overwhelming strength once again catching her off guard. The young girl mentally chastised herself for arrogantly leaving herself so vulnerable.  

Gah, she's a lot stronger than you'd frickin' think...

Crushed within Blossom's grasp, it was Avery's first opportunity to really feel the other girl's tight physique at work. Given their position it was hard not to notice, actually. It was also hard not to notice Blossom's eagerness to keep them both pressed firmly and--perhaps a tiny bit intimately--together in that particular hold. It was a brief realization but it didn't stop Avery's cheeks from softly flushing, nonetheless. Before the young redhead could hope to properly react, however, Avery found herself suddenly lifted completely off the mat. Flung easily by Blossom's belly-to-belly suplex, the tattooed cutie splashed, head and shoulders, first into the ring spectacularly before crumbling to the mat in a mess with a soft groan.

To her credit, Avery's determined nature refused to simply allow the blow to keep her down. With clenched teeth, the stubborn youth swiftly rolled on to her stomach before making a strong display of rising to her feet. However, with a soft curse the redhead soon slumped back down to the mat on to her knees--right in front of Blossom, no less--as her hands came to grasp gingerly at her own head. As tough as Avery was there was no easy way of shaking the painful haze from her ringing head.

Ave really did have an awesome body. Blossom saw that from the second the match started, but feeling it truly did make all the difference. A lot of girls in the AFW were beefy, but this was toned muscle, the kind that came from countless hours in the gym. Soft, yet solid muscle. Hardly an inch of fat to be found, and Blossom would have loved to thoroughly check in a more serene setting.

More intimate thoughts ran through her head, but she shoved them out of the way fast. This wasn't that sort of match, which was good because she always lost that sort of match, despite how much fun that sort of match was. No, this was serious exhibition, and it didn't  matter how beat-red her cheeks were. It was time for business and that meant tossing Ave away like a stinky bag of garbage. "Up and over!"

Blossom jerked so hard that she fell on back after Ave was sent flying, slapping hard down on her shoulders. She immediately rolled around saw Ave trying to get back up...trying, but not quite making it. A rare opening. She had to make the best of it.

She helped Ave get back to her feet and pulled her into a reverse headlock, pulling her in close and squeezing her skull hard under her arm, flexing for a little added pressure. Awkward with the size difference, yes, but doable, and a good chance to bring her full strength to bare and wear down on Ave's defenses.
