The Clone Wars, despite initial resistance, actually did end up becoming fairly popular with the fans, which I was happy about. There were certainly some pretty lame episodes, but there were some really good ones, too, including some that were most certainly not targeted towards children, as the show ostensibly was.

Prequel hatred will always exist, unfortunately. It makes people feel like cool kids to bitch about it, so they'll keep bitching about it. Like TCW, the prequels weren't perfect, but there were some absolutely awesome things about them that people just overlook.

Bad script, bad acting, overuse of CGI, bad characters. There. That's why people hate on it so much.
