Not bad, as threats went. Mako had heard some of the worst from some of the best, and John's was right up there. Usually calm and well-tempered, reasonable and considerate, but with a little tweaking he was in just the right headspace. The plan hadn't gone exactly like she wanted, but she was still getting some good out of all this.

Mako took a pen grabbed a scrap of paper she found lying around, a flier from some restaurant nearby. Messy, but good enough for a quick note.

Keep your friends close, soldier. Next time...
