A Puerto Rican Mummy in Japan

"Oh, yeah, I do." She let those words sit for a moment before she cut it off with a chuckle. "But not for that, no. You jump off turnbuckles for a living, pretty much required to be a little messed up in the head. You should be like me, keep it on the ground." She brought up her fists in a playful stance, smirking at him from between her arms.

"But I can't knock it, man." She stepped away from him and moved over to the water fountain, pressing her thumb down and letting the water run for a bit. Took a while to get cold. "I'd probably do Friction if I thought I could handle it. I know I can't. Fighting guys, though, I can focus on the fight, 100%, don't have to worry about it getting steamy."

"That makes sense. I'm not worried about distractions or anything like that against women though, I have a girlfriend who is bonkers enough to like me for who I am. I'd be a complete idiot to mess that up." Charlie answered as he leaned up against a wall and watched L.C walk over and sit next to him. "Tension seems to have a lot of wack-jobs in it, but I've met mostly decent folks. Are there any real weirdo's that mess with you and Army that I should keep an eye out for?"

Carmen thought about it for a moment, and chuckled when she realized that she even had to think about it. How long had she been in Japan? Four months, tops, and she'd already had eight fights. She hadn't even come close to that rate when she was a boxer. Three fights in a year would've been a busy year, and know she was knocking them back every other week. Maybe she should slow down before she burnt out?

Nah.

"Not really. I mean, Army's had a thing with the Takeuchi's, but they're just rich assholes. Not like Fritcion doesn't have plenty of those." She wave it off. "People complain about Tension all the time, but it's fine for me. Has been since I got here."

As soon as Charlie heard the name Takeuchi he let out a boisterous laugh. Did they start trouble with everyone? Even L.C barked, as the little fella had heard Charlie and his old roommate curse that name almost from the time they arrived.

"Oh man.... my friend and I have a bit of a history with them too. I was injured and in an interview Daisuke sorta trashed me for being hurt before I even made a debut. No biggie as far as I was concerned. Alaina didn't see it the way I did though. A couple nights after she was out at the bar and saw Daisuke. She flirted with him a bit, then dumped a couple drinks on his head before leaving. About a month after that Daisuke challenged her to a hardcore match... and lost." Charlie couldn't help but grin as he spoke that final sentence.

Carmen couldn't help but brighten up when L.C. barked at the name. That was cute. Impossibly cute. She made a living out of beating people shitless, so 'cute' usually wasn't on her menu, but the little guy put her in that sort of mood, with his little feet and his upturned ears and his tongue hanging out.

She enjoyed a fresh laugh, picturing the scene as best she could without having met Alaina. "Don't know your friend, but she sounds like my kind of girl. Right on that lame haircut of his - nice. Very nice. Alaina, I'l remember that name." She leaned up against the wall and scanned him from head to toe, trying to process a few things.

"You know, you could always take on his bitch sister." She held her hand up to her forehead and brought it over to his, comparing their heights. "If you have to beat up a girl, might as well be one that deserves it."

"Thats a good idea. Alaina had a spar with her not long ago, and I think Ami is next on her shit list." Charlie said with a shrug. "Maybe we can make a tag match out of it. Hell we'll let them invite two of their friends so you and Army can join in on the fun. 4 on 4 brawl in the back sounds like a good time for when ya heal up right?"

Charlie knew that idea of his would never happen. Still.... the thought of more than one Takeuchi getting pounded at one time was just too damn good to not think about.

Carmen stuffed her hands in her pockets as best as she could with the cast and rocked back on her heels. "That's a neat idea, buuuuuuuuut...I doubt jerks like them even have two friends. Much less wrestling friends." She shrugged."Not that I couldn't set it up. Sellers gave this golden ticket thing to all the female wrestlers, and we can pretty much make any match we want, anytime we want. Non-title, anyway. Keeping it saved for a special occasion."

A very special occasion. Carmen couldn't say she had any big problems with the male roster, but she figured it was only a matter of time before she did, and when that day came, a ticket like that might be a life saver.

"But you give it some thought, man." She tipped her head his way. "You want, I could look around, through out some feelers and get you a good match. Up to you."

"Really? You'd do that for me? There's got to be a string attached somewhere because thats too good to be true." Charlie said before looking down at L.C. The corgi looked up at him, happily panting with his tongue out. "Ok, so he thinks you are being honest.... so to hell with it. If you think you can set me up in a good match then I am all for it. Did you have anyone in mind or just try to see what you could throw together?"

"Tch, it's no problem." She waved it off and pulled out her sunglasses, fumbling with them for a moment. It was amazing how you could take some things for granted until they were gone, like being able to close your palm and grab things. "Until I heal up, it's not like I got anything better to do. You're doing me a favor, keeping me busy. And thanks for the vote of confidence, L.C." She reached down and gave him a complimentary petting.

"But yeah, I've got a few ideas." She stood back up and finally managed to slide on her shades. "Don't know any of the girls around here personally, but I watch plenty of matches. Abbey Abraxas, Emi Keyes, Kelli Devianti, Kendra Williams...good competitors, should give you a solid fight. Push comes to shove, I'll even take you on myself, might be fun." She threw a slow, playful punch at him, which was really the only sort of punch she could throw, right now.

"I did pick up a win against Army, even if it was a bit lucky so I guess you do owe me a beatdown." Charlie said with a smile. "Once ya find someone just let me know and I'll try to show them a good time."

The thought of going up against a woman didn't fill Charlie with any sense of anxiety. The thought of him being anything like his dad did. "I know this is gonna sound a bit odd, but do you get along with your family back home?" Maybe a kindred spirit would understand his mindset. Abusive father, and mom who loved him... when she had rare moments of clarity in between high's. He doubted anyone around had the exact upbringing he did.
