Mion Kiaragi vs Mayu Hoshino

Mion was scrambling to get back onto her feet, a big part of her game plan was to keep the fight as vertical as she could. But she wasn't expecting Mayu to leap atop her like she was some sort of horse. "Wah?!" the Queen of Spades shouted as she felt the weight of Mayu atop her.

And sure enough Mion could feel the pressure around her neck, the Queen of Spades flailed her arms about randomly. She had to make a decision on how to deal with this, Mion considered falling down and trying to squash Mayu under her. But something told her that'd only make things worse.

"Nghn..." Mion groaned out, she decided to make a break for the ropes. She didn't know much about wrestling, but her team told her that grabbing the ropes while in a submission constituted as being released from the hold. Now it was just a matter of dragging a most likely reluctant Mayu along with her, Mion had her arms out like a zombie to aim for the top rope.

Mayu felt that her opponent began to move towards the rope. A sensible maneuver in this kind of situation, but obviously she's not going to allow that. Not that easy, at least. With Mion not even trying to pull her arm from the girl's neck, Mayu would tighten the sleeper a bit and pull her opponent's body further from the ropes as she moved on her knees. It would be tricky to maintain her balance and her lock while doing that, but she had to work with what's available to her.

The short haired girl would then attempt to turn around and toss Mion onto her back. The sleeper should have weakened her opponent to an extend, so she could afford to release it rather than having the girl reach the ropes. Mayu's intention was to lunge forward afterwards, so she could try catching one of Mion's legs and wrap her own legs around it to apply a kneebar.

Despite Mion being a highly credible martial artist, she had little to no knowledge of wrestling and it's rules. In fact the first time she watched it was at a bar with Keno, later that night the pair duked it out for the 4th time in the alley nearby. Since then the Queen of Spades had only watched a few matches here and there, the ones that involved her opponent for tonight for example.

But watching a match in the ring and actually being in it, two different things entirely. So Mion fell to the mat with a thud.
"Ghn!" Mion grunted out, still trying to recover from the attacks. Mayu wasn't letting up, if she could just get some momentum back....

And then she felt Mayu begin to apply a kneebar onto her leg, the Queen of Spades began to panic a bit. But she still had a free leg, so Mion would attempt to fire it off and hopefully whack Mayu in the chin or head with her footwrap covered lower limb. Keno meanwhile was watching in the crowd, shaking his head. The Jack of Clubs was surprised to see Mion be brought down so easily, but he mused that if she could go ten rounds against him. Then it'd take a lot to keep down the Queen of Spades.

Clinging onto Mion's caught leg, Mayu wasn't really paying attention to the girl's other leg until it hit her chin. The short haired girl grunted as she was knocked away from her opponent, her hold released after taking the hit. She rolled onto her front and raised up on her hands and knees, shaking her head lightly to shake the slightly dazed feeling she got from the kick. Next time she wouldn't be that careless.

"Tee-hee~" she grinned at Mion before slowly picking herself up. "Nice kick."

Once she got up, Mayu would wait until her opponent did the same instead of going straight back to attack the girl. It's not pity, and she certainly wasn't looking down on the newcomer. Having got a kick in the head, Mayu would rather wait until she recovered before moving rashly.

Mion thanked her lucky stars that she was able to whack Mayu in the chin with that kick, if Mayu had the chance to cinch in that kneebar. It could have hampered her martial arts prowess quite a bit, she knew what she was doing to be sure. But of course the Queen of Spades wasn't going to make this easy, no Mayu would have to earn it.

Although as Mion got back up she found herself a bit....unnerved by Mayu's cheerful attitude, considering she just took a heel to the chin. Usually even someone like Keno and Jake, who was also full of cheer had usually given an annoyed grunt or curse word when they got hit like that. Mion didn't want to know the details.

"Uhhhhh....." Mion could only mutter out, but she needed to focus otherwise the match would become a lot more easier for Mayu. The Queen of Spades decided it was time for something else, something she didn't normally do. Although her leg hurt a bit, she could maintain a run. And that's what she did, running off the ropes and going for a charge at Mayu. The Queen of Spades didn't bother with anything fancy, she was just going to charge right at Mayu with a shoulder tackle.

Despite her chin stinging from the kick, Mayu maintained a strong front. It was nothing compared to the stuffs she went through in her AFW career after all. When Mion decided to charge towards her, she wasn't really expecting a simple move from her opponent, but doubted her initial guess as the distance between them was closing in rapidly. She had to decide within seconds, to dodge or counter.

Even if it was just a shoulder barge, the force was probably enough to knock Mayu off her feet given Mion's momentum. So Mayu decided to side step, moving herself inches away from her opponent's path as she's not going to simply dodge the attack. The short haired girl would wait for Mion to bounce off the other ropes, before going in for a clothesline in an attempt to counter her opponent. She might not hit with her arms as strong as she did with her legs, but perhaps the momentum might help her to floor the other girl.

Mion had just missed Mayu by that much! The eyes of the Queen of Spades went wide, her body recoiling from the nearby ropes, turning around and managing to catch a sight of her opponent attempting to deck her with a clothesline. Now what was she told again? Duck and run, was the advice given to her by Keno and Jake. So it kicked in.

Without so much as a peep out of Mion, the Queen of Spades would attempt to duck her head under and keep running. Like she'd stolen something she shouldn't have, although that wasn't the sort of thing Mion would do morally speaking. But regardless once Mion bounced off the ropes once again, she'd charge at Mayu yet again.

This time Mion would use the momentum to perform a forward roll, and then leap up and rotate her body sideways. Hoping to collide into Mayu with her hakama wearing legs.

"Shorrya!" the Queen of Spades would yell out.

"Huh?" Mayu blurted as her clothesline hit nothing but air, her eyes catching the sight of Mion ducked and went past her towards the ropes across them.

She turned around, preparing herself for a possible attack as her opponent launched herself at her again, only to find that Mion added a forward roll to fasten things up, and disrupted her timing. She couldn't dodge this time, so Mayu brought her arms together to protect herself from the strike.

"Nnngh!" the short haired girl once again stumbling to her side after taking the kick.

That hurt more than the knee, but at least it wasn't a direct hit to her front or anything. Mayu continued to stumble around for a bit as she tried to fix her balance, keeping her distance away from Mion for the time being.

Mion slumped down after colliding her legs into Mayu's upper body, and laid there for a couple of seconds. Taking the chance to catch her breath, she wasn't used to performing acrobatics feats like that. Unless it was a flying kick or something like that, all that fancy stuff was usually the domain of the her group's ringleader Jake. The Queen of Hearts wasn't an ex circus performer after all.

Ms Kiaragi would then get up, her attack did seem to have some effect on Mayu. It didn't hit fully, but it sent the girl stumbling. Mion thought she was on to something here, and would attempt to capitalise on it. After taking a short breath the Queen of Hearts would move into another move, performing a spin as she moved forward. Balling her right hand into a fist held in her left, aiming to use her right arm's elbow and fire it off into Mayu. But if she missed Mion probably wouldn't have time to deal with the counter.

"Hyyaaaaa!" The Queen of Spades shouted out, Mion didn't care if she won or lost. But giving her all was what mattered, a lesson from her parents.

Mayu finally managed to steady her footing, just right when Mion launched another attack on her. It looked like her opponent was going for a punch or something, so she decided to try avoiding this one. Mion apparently went for an elbow strike instead, although Mayu had already ducked when she saw her opponent's arm swung. The strike was probably just late by a few seconds.

The short haired girl then turned around to bump her back side onto Mion's front, while she would attempt to catch the girl's stuck arm. Her intention was to straighten that arm before one of her legs shift backwards while also raising her hip, so she could toss Mion onto the mat with an ippon seoinage, the one arm shoulder throw.
