Harumi stopped tearing up when she saw her daughter wake up at last. "Haruko-chan! You're awake!" Crying in happiness, she made to hug Haruko-

-she stared, her cheek bearing a red welt. "H-Haruko-chan? You... you slapped me..."

Haruko glared up into Harumi's eyes, sitting herself up while she heard the crowd booing her.

"I... I remember. I remember that day you abandoned us. You left without a word! My... my brothers were all looking up to me for support and I was only 11! I'll...I'll never forgive you, Harumi. You are NOT my mother. You're just some air-headed neko that abandoned her kids a long time ago just because life got too hard for her. You're a sorry excuse.. for a mother, and for a human being." She hissed before rolling away from her, climbing out through the ropes while she left her mother with her words, walking up the ramp fuming, and fighting back tears.

Harumi was frozen still as if Haruko's declaration had been a bucket of liquid nitrogen thrown onto her. She didn't protest Haruko's departure, didn't reach for her daughter's wrist in a desperate attempt to stop her. She just sat there in the middle of the mat, staring at the back of the daughter who had completely renounced her for reasons she didn't fully understand.

"Haruko-chan..."

Harumi buried her face in her hands and wept.
