Slumber Jam '14 [For Killcarrion]

Blossom couldn't remember the last time she'd slept so well.

She had great dreams with her two new friends. The best one she could remember had them in a massive king-of-the-hill type match, taking on all comers to the ring and beating them back in a furious furry flurry of punches and slams. They were like a whirlwind of pain, effortlessly beating back anyone crazy enough to take them on. Blossom, Maki, and Death Bunny vs. The World.

Reality set in as the smell of bacon filled Blossom's nose, and she slowly stirred back to life. She blinked a few times, staring at Death Bunny as she snoozed and enjoying the moment, before she inched over and poked her in the shoulder. "Bunny? Buuuuuny. Wake uuuuuuuup." She inched in a little closer, trying to see where those rabbit ears of hers were connected...

While Blossom dreamed a Technicolor fantasy of an improbable but not entirely impossible team-up scenario, Bunny slept soundly enough thanks in large part at not having to worry about any roving hands by her smitten and flowery host. Her blissful status would be interrupted by the echoing sound of her name, maintaining her slumber until a poke on her shoulder elicited a purely instinctual response…

Wham!!

A fist shooting straight into the air and lodging itself squarely into Blossoms inquiring face. After the clobbering response Bunny lurched up like a zombie until she was sitting up and yawning tiredly with her fists in the air. The top-chef idol would overhear the rumblings and peak out the kitchen to put plates of omelets, toast, and sausage on the table. Piecing together the situation pretty easily, Maki walked over to the floored Blossom and helped her to her casted feet.

“Whoops, sorry…wanted to warn ya about that….you tried to wake her didnâ€t you?”

In hindsight, she should have seen that coming.

Blossom flopped on her back and nearly went back to sleep as she laid there, sprawled out, leveled by the awesome might of Death Bunny's punch. Even waking up, the Floppy One still had plenty of power in those fists.A neat little reminder of what might be in store for her if they ever faced off again.

She shook it off as Maki helped her up, trying to fight her rapidly blushing face. "Uh, yeah." Blossom shook her head, fluffling out her flattened hair to its normal, frilly state. "I really don't think she's a morning person." She took a few sniffs, and turned to see fresh food in the kitchen. It looked every bit as good as it smelled."But boy, you sure are. That's smells deeeeeeelicious."

“No…..no, that was actually a pretty tame wake up for her. Just be thankful you didnâ€t try to open her eyes or hold her nose, ” Maki kindly replied to Blossom as she escorted the hobbled wrestler to her plate, sitting next to her at her own breakfast meal. “Well, thank you kindly. Thatâ€s a kinder response than I get from B. Normally itâ€s just a grumbling moan or a –"

“Why are you two always talking about me behind my back?…*yawn*…” Stretching to the ceiling with her arms to the air, Death arose from the dead and walked past the two to sit across the table from them. Bunny seemed to be in a fairly decent mood that morning, almost as if she woke up on the right foor.

“Well when else are we supposed to talk about you, B.?” Maki said with a genuine smile.

“Youâ€re NOT supposed to….*grumbled moan*….morning….” Bunny wisely decided not to start the day off on a sour note and started chowing down on the most important meal of the day.

“Good morning~….Oh hope you didnâ€t mind my fidgeting last night Blossom. Starting dreaming about zombie bunnys chasing me down the street….I think I was dressed like a carrot too….”

...and now Blossom wanted to know what would happen if she messed with Bunny's eyes while she was asleep. She was even more curious to see how Bunny would react to having her ears messed with. She really did want to know how those things were attached and why they moved like they did. One of life's great mysteries...

Death Bunny was in about as good a mood as she ever got about anything, though, so Blossom thought it wise not to press it. Instead, she hobbled her way into kitchen and started on one of the finest breakfasts she'd seen in a good while. Blossom had always been a bit of a late riser, usually staying up late with movies and getting up around the time lunch rolled around, so she rarely got the chance to start her day off with a proper meal.

She started cutting off the crust of the toast before she ate it - old habits died hard. "It's okay, Maki. I like fidgeting! You tickled me a few times." She smiled her way before glancing back at Bunny, watching her eat for a moment. "Sooooooo what are you doing today, DB? Come to think of it, what do you do when you're not wrestling? For fun, I mean. Well, normal fun."

It was funny, she'd known Death Bunny for a few weeks, now, but she still didn't know much of anything about her as a person. It added to the mystique about her, and Blossom liked that, but a few more details would be nice...

Makiâ€s culinary skills certainly were on full display that morning, each plate decorated festively to commemorate their successful sleepover jamboree. Maki happily proceeded to dig into her scrumptious meal with hefty bites and gulps of O.J., betraying her petite and cutsy persona and revealing her ravenous appetite. Bunnyâ€s eating mannerisms imitated a prison inmates as she slouched over with one arm circled around her plate as if to shield if from pilfering cellmates who werenâ€t even there. The hardy meal and uneventful slumber actually did put Bunny in a talkative mood....for once.

“Well….if you must know, Iâ€ve got this taxidermy place over in Kyoto where I specialize in skinning and stuffing the animals personally, you remember that knife from the hospital, right? Maybe one of these days I can show you my method, trick is to start from the ear…” Bunnyâ€s gastly imagery would continue as her voice reached a new level of creepiness…

“…..Sheâ€s just messin with you Blossom,” Maki whispered into Blossoms ear after a brief nudge into her ribs. “….*giggle*….B. spends some time at her gym as a trainer for some of the up and coming fighters, boxers, what have you. Though at night sometimes you can find her skulking around some underground fight clubs, She gets crazy props down there~…”

“I also read on occasion, Maki. Jeez, you make it sound like wrestling is all I do…”

“Oh yeah…that too~…*chomp*…”

Death Bunny was actually engaging in a complete conversation, utilizing full sentences and multiple syllables. This was a rare occasion - who would have guessed the Floppy One was a morning person? Whatever the case, Blossom was going to take this opportunity to gleam as much info as she could, before Death Bunny clammed up again.

She cocked her head to the side with an amused smile. "You're a trainer?" Not that Death Bunny didn't have the experience to be one, but Blossom never pictured her as the teaching type. Death Bunny never seemed all that patient, really, though maybe there were just a lot of hidden depth to her, and Blossom had only given the tiniest scratch to her surface.

But the underground fighting thing? That sounded right up her alley.

"Oooo, underground fighting." Blossom gulped down a mouthful of eggs before moving on. "Like Bloodsport. Oh!" She popped up. "I just got this cool image of you fighting Chong-Li. That'd be soooooo epic."

She turned Death Bunny's way with a full smile, looking up at her. Then higher, at her ears. Then back down again. "What books do you read?"

Bunny did raise an eyebrow to Blossoms perplexed expression when Maki entioned her after hours hobby at the fitness center she hangs her feet at. Was it really that strange to envision her holding some sparring mits, doling out cryptic advice, and smacking down overconfident newcomers? A new hobby she recently picked up to counteract returning to one of her older time past times, retreating to her familiar underground fighting haunts.

"...It's not like the movies'd have you think. Less sport and more blood." Dens of debauchery and wanton violence, D.B. felt more at home in these seedy fight clubs than paling around at a pre-teen slumber party having her f**king toe nails polished. Death nowadays primarily stuck to lurking and people watching from the V.I.P. section since no one dared challenge her anymore. If any of her gangster associates could see her now...*shudder*...

"Nothing you'd find interesting, they don't have alien...samurai...teenagers from malibu or whatever..." D.B. kept her head lowered so as not to have Blossoms doe-eyed smile in her vision...she was still trying to eat. Not Maki though, who had by now finished her meal well ahead of anyone else at the table.

Blossom was now envisioning Death Bunny dressed up like Micky from Rocky 3, riding a bicycle while Blossom ran ahead of her and pulled her forward on a string. All while Bill Conti played Pushin' in the background. It probably wasn't quite like that, but nothing could stop her from dreaming.

It did raise some interesting questions, too, like what Death Bunny did before she was a wrestler, what made her become one, things like that. But maybe those questions were better saved for another time.

"Well, you never know." She gave Bunny a playful kick in the shin with her cast. "I'm interested in all sorts of things, and I'm always up for new experiences. I mean, maybe I won't like it, but you can't say until you try, right?"

Bunny flinched slightly when Blossom tapped her in the shin with that rock hard foot. She started to wonder just where down the road exactly did she allow this wounded flower to get so chummy chummy with her. Sitting back up having finished her meal, Bunny wiped her mouth with a napkin as an idea came to mind to put Blossom' s words to the test. Bunny was inwardly releived Blossom showed more of an interest in her reading habits than in her underground fighting club pastime. A brief image flashed through her mind of Blossom showing up one day at one of these hang outs and being her usual flowery self while cozying up to Death...*shudder*...again.

"Tell you what...let's trade up..." Shuffling off to the side Death started scrounging through the tote bag she brought with her the night before. "I'll lend you one of the books I just polished...it was a birthday gift from Maki...but it's kinda obvious why she thought I'd get a kick out of this one...Get the feeling she didn't read past the title..."Bunny stood up and placed the novel on the table next to Blossom.

"...I didn't." Maki sheepishly whispered towards Blossom, none to proud of her inability to properly book search for Death.

"It's about a debauched husband whose wife commits suicide that sends him into a tailspin that revolves around womanizing hapless housewives while on a road trip with his son. There's serial killers, ghosts, and a pretty graphic, well...I won't spoil it. In exchange I'll borrow..." Death looked around the room to find something of fairly equal exchange, her hand on her chin until coming across that copy of the first season of Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters From Beverly Hills, picking it up with a perplexed yet.....oddly intrigued look on her face. "...whatever this is."
