The match had been one of the strangest of Nikolette's career. It started out with the prospect of a fun match with developments for her future that she never could have expected. It followed along to a point where Gwendolyn had challenged Nikolette's moral fiber and then ended with Nikolette failing in getting Gwendolyn's ear as spectacularly as she had won the match against the aristocratic rookie.

Now as she pushed through the curtains backstage, Nikolette was bound and determined to not let Gwendolyn get away that easily. She saw the flock of cronies that the blonde had with her and frowned. "Gwen-Gwendolyn!" Nikolette called out, trying to peer over the group. "Can ya please let me talk to ya!?" She said, pushing up on her tip toes to look over the group as she paced after them. Hopefully Gwendolyn would hear her and at least hear her out.

A substantial sized entourage clad in blue and white jumpsuits hovered around the exasperated Gwendolyn offering words of encouragement that barely reached her. Still fuming over her loss to the lovesick engineer, all Gwen could think about was how close she came to fooling her opponent to an effortless victory, her perfectionist mind replaying the entire match step by step in an attempt to find the mistake she made. She thought she played the scenario perfectly, but that contemptible grease monkey wasnâ€t so easily manipulated in the end and dared to hand the blonde beauty her first loss.

The heiress and her associates stopped at the elevator to the executive washroom, chugging down her bottled water as if it would wash the bitter taste of defeat out of her mouth. Throughout all the noise of her entourage she barely made out a familiar voice in the background, turning around to see a gloved hand waving at her over the heads of her colleagues. Recognizing that grubby hand anywhere, her entourage would part like the Red Sea as Gwendolyn stomped towards Nikolette sporting a distinct glare that made almost all who saw it feel beneath her, stopping before the engineer with her hands on her curvy hips and her chest puffed out.

Nikolette nearly balked at Gwendolyn's forceful words and aggressive posture when she broke through the ranks of her entourage. "I think ya have what it takes ta do some good things in this league if ya set yer mind to it."

Nikolette then blushed. "You... you don't need to use any tricks, though." Nikolette lifted her gaze. "And... I was hopin that you were the kind of woman who wouldn't take a loss so personally that... other things would be off the table." nikolette was feeling a little nervous and took a step forward.

"What I mean ta say is, I hope that offer of a partnership wasn't just a way to try and trick me! I have respect for ya, and... and I'd hate to lose that because you'd rather win then take a chance at an opportunity of a lifetime!" Nikolette's eyes burned with fierce determination. Now was the moment. If Gwendolyn couldn't see the passion in the engineer's eyes, and how she really felt about moving forward with a business venture, then she didn't know what she might do. "It's not like I'm asking for everything right now! We could take things slow! There's still a lot I have ta do here, too! I... I just want to show you that I'm serious! I know we could do great things together!"

Nikolettes initial words would almost seem condescending to the pompous blonde, she didnâ€t need any one else to remind her of her innate superior talent for wrestling, but who was she to interrupt Nikolettes well-deserving praise. Her face would remain emotionless throughout the engineerâ€s impassioned plea, looking down at her with the same intimidating glare and noticing the burning desire in her eyes as she pleaded for their continued relationship. *Hmph…inconceivable, she still intends to win my heart after this entire ordeal. Her odds of earning my affection were slim before the match had begun, slimmer after she abused me like that. And yet, here she is. Persistent if not anything else.* Gwen would exhale deeply once the engineer was finished, calming down significantly and placing her dainty hand in Nikkyâ€s own while she spoke her piece.

However, trick or not we verbally agreed to an arrangement that you withdrew from at the very last second because of this honorable trait. I find it difficult to fathom how Iâ€m supposed to trust someone who would choose their own peace of mind over our continued endeavors. And as you well know, ‘trust†is the cornerstone of any fulfilling partnership…."

“....Fortunately for you, I have always had an eye for spotting hidden potential and your commitment to this cause has not gone unnoticed. To approach me in such a manner takes great courage and devotion. Taking it slow may be for the best for now until we come to a mutual understanding of each other…” Nikolettes seemingly unending faithfulness served to feed into Gwendolynâ€s immense ego and almost made her forget the engineerâ€s past transgression in the ring. It truly was a blessing and a curse to be graced with such boundless elegance and beauty....~

Nikolette took a step back at Gwendolyn's words. She could get into the details of why Gwendolyn's words were off but she considered if it was for the best. Still, it seemed like int he end Gwendolyn finally saw reason. Nikolette looked at her and nodded.

"Yeah, we have time, for now. I'm in no rush. I won't even be fully ready to give myself to you until I've beaten Angel." The current Friction champion. "Unless... there was a proposition that I just absolutely could not say no to." Nikolette added with a blush. Her dreams in the AFW meant a lot but Gwendolyn DID have the power to offer something that Nikolette could absolutely not turn down. She had almost done it,in fact, but Gwendolyn's actions had shown Nikolette the error of trusting her in that instance.

Nikolette continued to hold out her hand. "I want to make sure that whatever we do, moving forward, that we're in this together. That we're honest with each other about this partnership and how it will benefit both of us. I don't really think that's too much to ask. Aren't we both trying to make sure that we end up happy and satisfied? I know you're used to dealin with corporate types and things get a lil weedy but, I'm a straight shooter. I've... had people try n' tug me around already. I ain't for it. If that's gonna be an issue, just tell me now so i don't get too invested." She said.

"You look very classy and I'd like to keep believing that you're as respectable inside as you look on the outside." She said, smiling a little bit.

Weâ€re both still blooming youths, after all…” A slight blush would form over Gwens cheeks as her other hand rested against the side of her face, giving Gwen a starry eyed look towards the engineer. Although she was in dire need of a makeover to smooth her rough edges, Nikolette was already proving herself be to one of the more passionate and ardent of her followers. Gwen would assuage Nikkyâ€s worries with some sweet words to keep her engrossed in the pompous heiress.“I assure you Ms. Engineer, you have my word as a Bettencourt that our relationship will be completely candid and aboveboard. Indeed, dealing in the business world can compel you at times to resort to unethical actions, and although you may have been jilted in the past, I promise that will not be the case for us. How else could our partnership pan out to its absolute potential?"

“The Friction Champion, you say? I see your penchant for aspiring towards lofty goals is applied towards your AFW career as well. Well I have the utmost confidence that your victory is assured. I expect anyone who triumphs over me in combat to only be the best this league has to offer. Of course, I WILL be your number one contender once you win the championship, yes?…”Always the conniver, Gwen was already starting to see the benefits of the Friction World Champion being madly in love with her...

Nikolette could see how beautiful Gwendolyn was just from a glance. ANYONE could see it, really. She was magnificent but it wasn't until she saw the flash in the heiresses eyes that she wasn't just a pretty face. Actually, she was rather cute! Nikolette turned her head, blushing as she watched the blonde gush a bit. She fidgeted a bit where she stood as Gwendolyn talked. Especially when she mentioned 'blooming youths'

Nikolette's eyes lit up when Gwendolyn spoke about openness and honesty with regards to their relationship. "I..." nikolette said, blushing, as if she were speaking more about past lovers than business partners. However, her ex girlfriend, Satomi, were nearly one int he same. They had such a strong bond that when Satome left, Nikolette was crushed. Both as a lover and as an prospective entrepreneur. "I don't want to get hurt again..." She said, trying to smile as sincerely at Gwendolyn as possible.

She then grinned. "Yeah. Angel and I debuted as rookies. I won... she ended up as the champ and I ended up..." Nikolette shrugged. "I guess i got a little distracted. Maybe that's why I wasn't so keen on our deal in the ring. I was distracted before and I got beat up bad because of it. By Angel in a rematch, by another girl who I'm gonna beat in this tournament." Nikolette nodded. She was feeling the determination rise in her belly.

"I'll fight you in the ring anytime, Gwendolyn." Nikolette said. "I can't take my eye off anyone and I know you're tough. I'd look forward to it." She said, smiling.

Nikolette then turned. "But, uh... Maybe we could meet up later? Tonight or... some other time? We just finished a match and, I dunno about you but even though I'm a bit of a grease monkey, I sure don't like bein dirty when I'm not int he thick of things! i need a shower badly." Nikolette said, smiling and blushing a bit.

Gwendolyn had suspected that the engineer was the victim of heartbreak when she emphasized the need for honesty in their relationship. She took note of Nikolettes forced smile as she mentioned her jilted lover, it being fairly obvious that those scars were still fresh in her mind. Gwen had always prided herself on her ability to read people and understand their true intentions and motivations. Nikoletteâ€s forlorn expression and wounded yet still cheerful demeanor gave her an adorability akin to an injured puppy, even with her rough edges Nikolette still had a heartwarming charm to her. It was more than apparent to Gwen that the young engineer was surely in need of the blonde heiress†expert tutelage in life and love.

“..*giggle*..No one WANTS to be hurt Ms. Engineer, but itâ€s simply the risk one must take if they wish to achieve their lifeâ€s goals. To live a life of fear from failure is not a life well lived…”,Gwen said as she remained staring haughtily into Nikkyâ€s green eyes with her blushed expression.

“Ah, so you have indeed defeated this Angel person before. Why this only proves my theory that you are championship material. You only seem to be lacking in focus at times, which is a quality you will surely need of you are to best youâ€re apparently growing number of adversaries. “I actually relish getting down and dirty occasionally during a match, but we can discuss so much more once we adjourn to the executive lounge facilities upstairs to wash off with a sauna and shower~...” Thoroughly accustomed to getting her way all the time, before hearing Nikkyâ€s response Gwen would happily yank on her lovesick admirers hand to lead them both to the waiting elevator, waving off her entourage to wait for the next elevator so the two could ride alone.

Nikolette listened to Gwendolyn's words with a soft blush on her face. The Haughty heiress was now speaking about Nikolette's life as if she cared about it. Not that the engineer didn't think that Gwendolyn lacked the ability to care, she was just surprised.

"I... I ain't afraid ta fail!"

That was all she could manage to say as Gwendolyn pulled her into the elevator, grabbing Nikolette's hand and pulling her into the executive level elevator. Nikolette felt Gwendolyn's hand. It felt soft. Hopefully the aristocrat wasn't put off by the engineer's rough, blue collar hands.

As the elevator closed, Nikolette barely even heard that they were going to sauna and shower together. It was a natural thing, really. Nikolette was a modest girl but she wasn't afraid to get into the shower with other girls around.

"I'm... really lookin forward to hearin your thoughts." Nikolette smiled. 'There's a lot I know but I've never really been exposed to the things you have." She said. She was talking about Gwendolyn's exposure to the business world. Nikolette could take a machine apart and put it back together and she could do calculus in her sleep. However, the business world had a lot to it that involved esoterics. That was the stuff, Nikolette presumed, that Gwendolyn was exposed to in her own life. That was the knowledge that Nikolette hoped she could harvest from their prospective business venture.

Classical music played in the elevator as it zoomed to the executive washroom. “As you should be Ms. Engineer. I can speak to you and offer my expert tutelage until Iâ€m blue in the face but if youâ€re not in the proper mindset then itâ€s meaningless. Thereâ€s a distinct difference between hearing, and listening.” Gwen dainty hand clasped tightly onto the young mechanics coarse hands, noticing the tough skin but hardly repelling. It was the rugged intensity of wrestling that attracted Gwen to the sport in the first place.

The elevator doors swung open to reveal a veritable paradise reminiscent of a Greek palace, a massive central fountain adorned with stone cherubs and vines immediately catching the eye. Blue carpets on the stairs along with marble floors shined through the entire facility with blue hydrangea flower pots and painted portraits of Gwendolyn and her family hanging on the walls. Housing all the necessary gym equipment for any proper workout, this particular executive recreation center had been indefinitely rented out by Gwendolyn for the duration of her stay in Japan. A tall elderly gentleman dressed in a high end tuxedo greeted the odd couple as they stepped out.

“Greetings my lady, you gave a magnificent performance out there. A dreadful outcome, but Iâ€m supremely confident youâ€ve learned much from-…oh, it appears we have another guest today.” Speaking dutifully through his thick grey mustache, the refined nobleman handed Gwendolyn her tablet containing analytical information about the stocks and shareholdings of the company that would be over the heads of most people. “Yes, my opponent insisted on accompanying me after our scuffle, sheâ€s quite adamant about a prospective….*giggle*….partnership with me. Her passion for our pairing has more than earned my attention. Ms. Engineer, this is my head butler and interim guardian, Winston.”

“A pleasure Ms. Tesla. I understand your work in mechanical engineering is top notch. Although I do hope you werenâ€t too rough on our dear heiress…”, Winston stated with slight bow and cheerful expression.
