Valley Doll vs. Chris Morgan - No Blonde Jokes
Match Type: Standard
Victory Conditions: Pinfall, Submission, or KO
[url=http://afwrpg.informe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=9882:svwjlu32][/url:svwjlu32]
Valley was busy getting limber in the back, waiting for her music to start - she'd been running a good string of matches since she came, getting in the groove of things, just having a good time. None of them major matches, but she'd enjoyed them, no question. It was good to get back in the ring. No pressure. Nothing too important, with one major exception. Just her and the ropes, like she always like liked it.
But today was going to be a little different. Today, she was going up against Chris Morgan.
As an old dog - relatively speaking - Valley had her ear well set to the wrestling grindstone. As such, she knew about Wrestling Angels. And as such, she knew about Chris Morgan - the Blonde Bitch. One of Wrestling Angels' premiere heels and a tall drink of water, one of the main reasons Wrestling Angels went down in the first place. The two of them had a lot in common besides the hair - long time wrestlers, refugees from a fallen federation, trying to get by in the AFW.
They would have a lot to talk about, if nothing else. From what she heard, Morgan had been out of the game for a good little while, too. Even if she was six feet tall and a dime on top, that was a long time to be inactive, and Valley was damn curious to see how well she still held up.
So. It was on.
The music started up and Valley came out to the fan's applause, dancing all the way, waving as she made her way down the ramp. They were well on her side, tonight, because this was a clear face/heel thing, and she was the definite face between the two. She wouldn't like the sound of boos coming in a minute, but it was what it was.
She slid on in the ring and took her corner, doing some light stretches. Ready and willing, Chris.

Re: Valley Doll vs. Chris Morgan - No Blonde Jokes
Coming out of her locker room, Chris made her way to the entrance that led to the arena. A curtain was the only thing separating her and the wrestling world she had left. And in moments, she would be stepping through it, and by doing so, returning to that way of life. During her time away from the ring, Chris had kept her physique, using working out as a way to relieve the stress of the corporate world. However, she had only sparring sessions since she signed on with the AFW, most of them away from the training complex, since she desired to keep her return as secret as possible, until it happened tonight. Chris had to hope that once she got into the ring for a full on match, her old instincts would kick back in. Hopefully it would be like riding a bike....if not, then falling down could be the least of things that would happen to her tonight.
For one wild moment, the tall blonde considered turning around and leaving. But Chris was always a goal oriented woman and she had several in mind when she decided to make her way to the AFW, none of which included fleeing in fear. The first of them though, was to see if the spark she had felt upon hearing about the wrestling league would be enough to rekindle the wrestling dreams of her youth, the same ones that had first brought her through the doors of the Wrestle Angels federation quite some years ago. She knew it wasn't going to be easy. She'd be facing a hostile crowd, and once word got out of her joining the AFW's ranks, possibly a hostile roster as well.
The opening notes of her theme, Avenging Angel began to play, shaking her out of her reverie. Chris went through the curtain as the music hit a crescendo. There was a moment of shock from the fans, who had only been fed the rumor that Chris was a part of the active roster now. Then, as one, they began to boo. It was just about what she expected actually.
*No matter. Redemption to them isn't on the list, yet.* she mentally told herself as she made her way down the ramp to enter the ring.
Once in the ring, she looked at her opponent. The Slamazons had been active while she was wrestling, and if she remembered right, Valley Doll was one of their more agile members. Granted that was all she knew, it was a long time ago, and at the time she had been quite busy herself.
*Hostile crowd, check. Smaller, quicker opponent that's experienced enough to not blunder into my grasp at the opening bell, check. Well, if management wanted to test me, they've certainly set up a good one.* she thought to herself.
Stepping forward to Valley, she put her hand out to shake before the bell rang, unwittingly putting their height difference one display. Although there were larger women such as Rebecca Tomko and Big Barda in the league, Chris still cast a large shadow of her own, and it would send a murmur through the crowd.
"Hi. I'm Christina...Chris for short." she said by way of introduction. "It's good to meet another American out here, and a Californian at that."

Re: Valley Doll vs. Chris Morgan - No Blonde Jokes
Hm. Chris Morgan looked bigger on TV. Maybe it was just Valley's imagination, though.
.
Sure enough, the boos started the moment Chris stepped out. Many fans from Wrestling Angels had transferred over to the AFW after it went down, and if there was one thing you had to give wrestling fans credit for, it was holding grudges for a ridiculously long time. It wouldn't matter if it was two days, two year, or two centuries. They had their mind about Chris made up before she even stepped out of the curtain.
Valley wasn't sure what to make of her, but then, she would find out soon enough, wouldn't she?
When Chris stuck out her hand and offered it, Valley raised a slight eyebrow. She seemed pleasant enough. Seemed. But she had seen the old shake-your-hand-and-pull-you-into-a-kick trick before...
Well, she was a fellow veteran. And a fellow Californian. And a fellow blonde. It would be pretty rude not to at least go for it. So, she reached out and gave Morgan a light shake, ready to pull back if she had to. "Valerie - Valley for short." She nodded. "Nice to finally meet - heard a lot of things about you."
Bad things.

"Oh, I'm sure." the taller American replied with a slight grin. "Most of it unflattering to me, I'd imagine."
With that Chris nodded and shook Valley's hand before releasing it and stepping back, without incident.
She gave a nod to the referee, indicating that she was ready, before settling back and waiting for the bell in a standing position. When it sounded, Chris would begin circling to her right, waiting for either Valley Doll to make the first move, or deciding what move she would make if the smaller wrestler didn't take the initiative.....

Re: Valley Doll vs. Chris Morgan - No Blonde Jokes
A match with a heel above six feet tall that didn't start before the bell rang? What insanity was this?
"Not to put too fine point on it, but...yeah."
Valley started to circle her as well after the bell rang. Big girls were always tricky. It was tempting to rush in and try to overwhelm her, but Valley found that patience was the best way to take on the giants. Let them come to you, tire themselves out. Wait for openings. Stay loose and free.
"So, little curious - what's the real story?"

Re: Valley Doll vs. Chris Morgan - No Blonde Jokes
Raising an eyebrow the former Wrestle Angel shrugged at the other blonde's question.
"You didn't read about it in the magazines and such? About 'how one woman betrayed and brought down the well loved wrestling federation' that created her?" she said, quoting a title from an article printed in a pro wrestling magazine shortly after the Wrestle Angel's collapse. The title was more than a little dramatic, but it was one of the one's that stayed in her memory.
Valley Doll wasn't the impulsive type, it looked like. Well, if she wouldn't come to Chris, then Chris would have to go to her. The bigger woman got her legs under her and lunged forward. She knew her speed wasn't exactly awe inspiring, but Chris was hoping that would convince the Slamazon to stand her ground and try to counter attack.
*A strike probably...and a with legs like that, it'l have to be a kick...* she reasoned from her look over of the California native's lithe body.

"Read that, yeah. Also read about how vaccines are bad for you and homeopathy is the future of modern medicine." She swung her leg around and hopped one foot for a moment, staying loose as they continued to circle. "Come on, we're both from Cali. We know better than to believe crap we read."
The big blonde charged at the smaller, sure enough - they couldn't wait around all day, of course. Valley decided to take her off guard by doing more than standing her ground - she ran towards her, too, closing the distance fast and ducking down at the last moment. She spun and swung her leg out, trying to hit Chris with a low roundhouse and pass by her side.

Re: Valley Doll vs. Chris Morgan - No Blonde Jokes
The doll was quick, Chris found out. She rushed in just as the larger blond did and closed ground much faster than she anticipated, ducking under the forearm that Chris instinctively swung. She hissed in pain as the Slamzon's kick connected, turning to face Valley as she continued away from her, the crowd giving a cheer as the Slamazon scored the first hit of the match.
Shaking her head Chris chuckled, both at Valley's speedy strike and her witty comment.
"Alright, that hit earned you this much..." she said, shaking her leg to soothe out any lingering pain from the impact.
Chris considered her words carefully, her eyes flicking over to the cameramen stationed at various points around the ring. The AFW usually broadcast it full shows over the Internet, a way they could get their more adult themed matches out without worrying too much about a TV rating system, and usually, the in-ring dialogue was also captured and broadcast as well. She could plead her case, and give her side of the story.
But that would take too long, and at the moment, it wasn't the reason she came back. But it did give her the perfect chance to accomplish two secondary goals: Give any of the Angels that needed it, a target for their hate. A target that wasn't some CEO president that had gone into seclusion after the company went down, but one that was there in the flesh, waiting to fight them. The second, give Hibiki Izayoi, a dangerously strong woman consumed with the need to avenge herself on the former Wrestle Angels the same sort of target, one seemingly much more responsible for her woes than the others.
"Long story short, during most of my time there, other wrestlers didn't get pushed for title shots because of me, and during the last year, when I took on the duties of a financial officer, I fired a lot of people." she said simply. Both of those were half truths; although Chris benefited from the favoritism shown by the Wrestle Angel's president at the time, she wasn't the one behind the decisions of who to, or not to, push. And when she took over behind the scenes as a financial officer, things had been so bad that even after cutting all the expenses she had control over, she had to start signing off on personnel cuts. But the people didn't need to know that. In fact, when the broadcast hit the websites, chances are the fans would take it as an admission that most of the decisions surrounding the Wrestle Angel's fall was indeed, as rumor had it, Chris Morgan's fault.
Settling into a ready grappling stance, Chris waited for Valley Doll's reaction.

Re: Valley Doll vs. Chris Morgan - No Blonde Jokes
OlÃ.
The kick struck right where it was supposed to, but it didn't do what it was supposed to do. Valley had been expecting it to knocking Chris down, or at least make her stumble a bit. That was what always happened when she tried it on other wrestlers, anyway...but, of course, 'other' wrestlers weren't over six feet tall and didn't outweigh Valley by at least a good thirty or so pounds, she guessed. So that had to be taken into consideration.
Well, if it was easy, it wouldn't be fun, would it? Besides, it wasn't completely without effect. It did hurt her. She'd just have to keep hitting Chris until she fell down. Simple.
Valley spun around on her heel, turning to face Morgan with a twirl of her hair. She stayed in the ready position, watching close as Chris spoke and gave a brief summary...almost too brief, really. The words she said sounded bitchy enough, but nothing Valley was reading off her seemed to back it up. She'd fought heels before. Plenty of heels. Chris wasn't giving off that vibe. Not yet. Only one way to be sure, though.
"I...hm." She rubbed her chin, looking Morgan over with a curious eye. "Okay, okay. We'll see how this plays, then."
Valley took the initiative now, running straight for Morgan, then jumping up at the last second to come at her with a flying knee, looking to stun her with the alacrity of it all.

Re: Valley Doll vs. Chris Morgan - No Blonde Jokes
The former champion of the Slamazons came in at what seemed like a dead run. Chris was almost ready to try and step forward and deliver a big boot, until warning bells went off, reminding her that she was sharing the ring not with some rookie, but with a veteran with as much experience, if not more, than her. She needed to be cautious.
Luckily for her, the taller woman's instincts proved right as she stepped to the side as Valley exploded into a leaping knee strike, managing to dodge the attack and hopefully letting Valley carry herself past Chris.
Going after the tan blonde at a run, Chris hoped to catch Valley just as she turned around to face her. Lowering her shoulder, she would try to slam it into the other woman's smaller lighter body right at the center of the Slamazon's chest and bowl her over, sending her fellow blonde down to the mat with a running shoulder block.
