Metamorphosis (Open RP)

The stillness of the hospital bothered Blossom the most.

Just the general quietness of the place, and not just the way it sounded. The room seemed to lack a smell - so clean, so fresh that the air seemed totally pure and untainted. The wall, the floor the ceiling, different shades of white. Everything just felt so sterile. It lacked energy.

That was probably the point, really - calm down the patient. Good vibes. Happy thoughts. Mellow out. A nice little sentiment...but Blossom just was not in the mood.

Things were still up in the air about her ankle - she was taking some medicine to numb the pain, they'd run some X-rays. They'd warned her against getting too optimistic - the AFW covered her well, she could get good care. Probably walk again, after a while. Maybe - just maybe - wrestle again. There were a lot of question marks.

The question was, though - did she even want to?

The AFW hadn't been all bad experiences. She made a couple of friends, even got her first real kiss off one. And she did enjoy wrestling...most of the time. But then, she would enjoy doing a lot of things - that didn't necessarily mean she should be doing them. And after that sort of experience, what happened with Serona...

She needed time to think. A lot of time. And she had plenty, all of the sudden.

While Blossom was thinking, there would suddenly be some whistling from outside. It seemed to be going at a fast pace and there sounds of skipping in the process. Then a voice can be heard singing,

That voice...it sounded Irish. A very familiar Irish voice. Could it be?

Blossom wasn't really sure how to react to that.

She sat up in bed and stared at the door, eyebrow raised and wondering just how potent the drugs she took were. "Uh - hello?" She called out, tempting to reach for the nurse's call button.

After a little more whistling and skipping, the door to Blossom's hospital room would slowly open up and in came a familiar face though a different outfit. She would do an Irish jig to Blossom before stopping and smiling.



"Ah, hey there, Blossom! Sorry I look different from being a leprechaun, but it's just that the hospital staff didn't want anyone strange in the building."

"Too late, I'm here."

She gave her a little wave and ushered Jackpot in - it was good to see a friendly face, especially hers. She'd been the first person to greet her when she came to Japan, and though they hadn't had much chance to cross since then, her showing up here was a great touch - nice to be thought of, really.

Jackpot (also known as Ashlen Bayne) would giggle in hearing Blossom's joke before she walked over to hug her in a sisterly manner. She would examine her friend up to that injured ankle. "So, lass, I uhhh...I heard about what happened to you earlier. I thought you put up a good fight, even if the end was a wee bit brutal."

"Yeah."

Just...'yeah'. Was that all she had to say? She tried to keep up the smile, but it went down a few degrees at the mention of that match. Brutal hadn't even begun to cover it. It was the scariest experience of her short life, the sort of thing that ran a cold chill through the veins just thinking about it. She knew it wasn't the norm - she drew a bad hand facing someone like Serona. But still...

"Hey." She propped elbows up, looking Jackpot's way with a more serious look. Odd, for her."Can I ask you a question? Simple one, just...why? Why do you wrestle?"

Jackpot would head over to a nearby chair to take a seat while hearing Blossom's question. "Why do I wrestle?" Her mind would think back to her past before she started wrestling. It didn't just come up right away, circumstances just drove her to take on this new role. "Why do I wrestle...Well, other than the fact that we Irish are often hard hitters, I wanted to challenge myself in it. I wanted to show the world what an Irish girl can do in the ring since it is rarely seen."

That made some sense - Blossom's first thought when the words 'Irish' and 'wrestling' hit here was Sheamus from the WWE and Roddy Piper...but the latter was mostly Scottish, and they were both men. Off the top of her head, she couldn't think of a single female Irish wrestler.

"Hm." She looked down for a moment, mulling it over - it wasn't like the concept was foreign to her; she'd wrestled throughout high school, knew what it meant to test yourself. "And do you think you've accomplished that, yet?"

"Well..." Ashlen thought hard back on those previous matches from her debut up to this point. "I did show a weebit of what I CAN do over the last few matches beginning with my debut, but I honestly feel that I haven't quite reached that just yet. Sure, I am starting to gain fans, but I still got a long way to go. And I even want to fight you again sometime, lass...but in an OFFICIAL match."
