Fixation (Cardia vs. Lukretia aftermath)

Cardia gulped. Such an impressive entourage. "I see," she replied thoughtfully. Flashing a nervous smile at Hilde once more, she turned back to Lukretia, "So... uh... m-mistress," She still was not used to the word, "I don't know how German aristocracy works. Is it normal for a c..." she stopped, glancing around, as if anyone might here, "... a countess's s-sister to be her servant?" She seemed even mousier than usual after asking the question, afraid that Lukretia might lash out at her.

Lukretia sneered at Cardia. "I told you she's not my sister. It's just a coincidence that ve share ze same name." She said and glared at Hilde.

Hilde looked solemnly at Cardia. "It has nothing to do with German aristocracy Cardia..." She said in a very somber tone. "It's just how circumstances ended up." She said and looked at Lukretia. "She already knows Lukretia..." Hilde pleaded. "Do you have to deny that I am your older sister to her? Isn't Cardia your friend?"

Lukretia's eyes smoldered and she reached back her hand and slapped Hilde so hard across the face that she fell to the ground. The echo of the slap resonated. "You are not my sister!" Lukretia barked. "Ze fact zat you serve me is ze only reason I allow you to keep our family name and you should be grateful for it because you don't deserve to have it!" She stepped forward and pressed her heel into Hilde's groin causing her to shriek and cry out painfully. "You do nothing but disgrace our family you pitiful wretch!"

Lukretia looked at Cardia. "She made a choice a long time ago und now she vines about ze choice she made." Lukretia vaguely explained the situation. She leaned over and ran her hand down Cardia's cheek. "You vill not like vat you find if you keep prying meine frau." She said looking into Cardia's eyes. She then stepped off of Hilde and looked down. "She vants badly to be meine freude." She began. "But I do not think she has vat it takes."

Cardia was paralyzed in fear by this display. Shaking visibly as Lukretia yelled at Hilde. She couldn't comprehend what could make someone... even Lukretia, treat her sister that way. She wanted nothing more to intervene and help Hilde, but... she couldn't interject herself between the two.

"That's... that's... h..." She murmured mindlessly when Lukretia finally addressed her, catching herself before she could call Lukretia 'horrible' to her face. "That's... I understand..." She finally spoke, flashing a sorrowful glance at Hilde.

Gulping nervously, she looked at Lukretia, "What... do I need to be your friend... mistress?"

Lukretia gave a wicked smile to Cardia. She leaned in and put her fingers to her chin. "Survive?" She almost whispered the question. She then gave Cardia a small peck on the lips and stepped passed the two. She began laughing loudly and walked into the house.

As Lukretia was walking away Hilde slowly got to her feet. She had her glasses in one hand and was running her groin with one hand. She reached out to grab Cardia by the shoulder and put her glasses back on. "Cardia..." She said softly and smiled. "I'm alright." She said. "You shouldn't worry about that... what you saw just now. It's nothing really. I'm fine. She's my sister and I love her no matter what." She began. "And I'm glad that you want to be her friend but it won't be easy really it's probably for your own good if you don't try too hard. She's...." Her eyelids fell. "You seem nice and I wouldn't want anything to happen to you."

Cardia relished the brief kiss, but watching Lukretia leave, the color began to drain from her face as she pondered what Lukretia had said.

She nearly jumped when Hilde put her hand on her shoulder, "S-sorry." Cardia stammered, "I'm... sorry, I didn't mean to intervene... I... I know it isn't any of my business." She put her hands on her head in desperation, "I... I don't know what to do any more. Am I... should I... can I... is this..." Fear began to grip her. Without thinking, she embraced Hilde, "Should I even... be here? M-Miss... Lukretia... she's... such a... she's... amazing... but terrifying." She looked up, her eyes meeting Hilde's, and the shocked realization of what she was doing overcame her. "Ah!" She yelped, backing away. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. And your sister... I'm not trying to badmouth her and..." She trailed off into a whimper.

When Cardia looked at Hilde, She gave a reassuring smile. "You don't have anything to apologize for." She said. "It's natural to be curious about something that must seem so strange." She said. When Cardia embraced her she returned the hug and ran her hand up and down Cardia's back to comfort her. Hilde shook her head slightly when Cardia stammered backwards. She took Cardia's hand in hers and looked into her eyes. "Lukretia is both of those... amazing and terrifying." She said with a smile.

"You're afraid of her right?" She asked. "But yet you're still here, why?" She looked into Cardia's eyes. "I'm not like her. I will be your friend without the kind of strings that she attaches to everything." She was only trying to make Cardia feel at ease. "I won't get angry at every little thing you do, I promise." She said. She looked to the house. "She's done much worse to me but I'll never stop loving her. No matter what. I think it's because of what she does that I keep loving her even though I probably shouldn't." Hilde let go of Cardia's hand and sighed. "I... should apologize too." She said. "I was just so hopeul that maybe she had found someone to make her less uptight... someone who helped her relax and I misstepped and made you have to see something you shouldn't have."

Cardia's eyes nervously met Hilde's with affection, "Th-thank you so much." She smiled, gently embracing her again. "You're... you're such a nice person... I'd like to be your friend too. I... I am sorry though. Lukretia is just as uptight and... and... ... demanding with me as she is with you. I... I had hoped she had some family that she let down her guard around." She squeezed Hilde tighter, "But... I... am so sorry..."

Erm... not that I would know, of course.

Also, "She stammered backwards" doesn't mean much. Stammered refers to speaking, not to movement. " title="Razz" /> ))

Hilde kept her smile on, it seemed as if there was very little that could erase her warm smile, even her cruel sister. "Of course!" She said happily. I'm glad you want to be my friend." She then looked at the house. "I think she is a little nicer to you, thankfully." She said. "No one else should have to endure what I have to." She then looked at Cardia with wide eyes. "I mean... I am her sister, I'm the only family she's got so I have to be by her side... You just want to be her friend. I... don't know why though." She said. "I saw the match she had with you. She did such horrible things to you... How did you ever want to do anyting besides ate her?" She asked seriously.


When Cardia reembraced her, Hilde hugged Cardia tightly. "Don't be sorry, you don't have anything to apologize for. Lukretia... isn't the kind of person to let her guard down to anyone. She feels that she can't for anyone or anything."

((Hehehehe. Yea I think so <.< and I use stammer as a synonym for stagger >.< ))

Cardia returned Hilde's hug with just as much passion. To find such a kind person here where she most needed it, it was like a dream. She almost didn't want to let go of Hilde in case she too turned out to be some twisted form of reprieve that Lukretia would taunt her with only to take away. "I... I... don't know." Cardia finally spoke, "She... I don't think what she did to me in that ring was all bad." She sniffled softly, "Maybe I'm m-messed up. But... the pleasure she gave me... was the best I ever had. The torture... it almost didn't seem so bad in retrospect."

She looked at Hilde's face, her eyes damp with the hint of tears. "And... she was so beautiful. S-so commanding. I... I wanted to b-b-be with her... to know her... to have the sort of... that power... that greatness... she has." Cardia shook her head, "I... I don't know what I'm saying. I... can't really explain it." She sighed, looking back at Hilde. "You... you do look like her.... You're beautiful... too." She smiled.

"I-I know it isn't my place," she whispered, "But... what makes Lukretia hate you so? You're so sweet and kind and good..." She trailed off, squeezing Hilde tighter.

Hilde smiled happily when she felt Cardia's arms wrap even tightly around her. She was happy that Cardia was her but sad that she was at the same time. Cardia strived so hard just to have Lukretia pay some kind of attention to her. It seemed like she didn't seem to mind that it was mostly negative. Hilde could sympathize though her reasons for being in the situation were much deeper than merely trying to befriend or garnish attention from Lukretia.

"Ooooh." Hilde said. She looked up into Cardia's eyes and put her hand gently on Cardia's cheek. "You aren't messed up..." She said smiling comfortingly. "I... um... well...that is..." She looked away. "Lukretia has done the same things to me and..." She looked down feeling a terrible shame. "I can't say that there wasn't a part of me that didn't secretly enjoy it as well." She turned her head and buried it in Cardia's shoulder.

After a moment she looked up. "Danke..." She said softly. "But you shouldn't be so modest. You're very pretty too." She said nodding sincerely.

Hilde then turned her gaze away from Cardia. "Lukretia would kill me if I told you..." She said. "But... She hates me because I am a disgrace to our family name..." She said with a deep sigh. "A long time ago she told me that I could stay in the family as her servant and be able to keep the family name or I could be exiled never to see her again and never to know of the true bounties of our family's name. I-I couldn't bear to leave my little sister so I chose to be her servant. At least that way I could in some way look out for her like a big sister should..." She then looked up at Cardia. "Lukretia told me that I made the wrong choice that day and ever since then she has been cold to me except when she has desires or the occasional whim that passes through her allows her to be nice to me for a brief moment."
