Red wine over beer? Of course!

The shower located in the apartment of Mr Ryan Knight had just switched off, the rich kid of Scotland as some of his nay-sayers titled him exited. Running a towel through his sunny blonde hair, it fell down into a natural state as he flung the large cloth back into the bathroom. The small kitchen area nearby was well cleaned and looked after.

At the rightside of the room a fireplace crackled, giving a warm and homey feel to the room. Above the fireplace was a rapier mounted with the words "A gift from the government of France." written in the language along the blade.

In the middle of the room were a couple of chairs, the pair of them were velvet red and one could sink into it and just feel weightless. Next to the chairs was a small coffee table with a pair of glasses and a brand new bottle of red wine imported from Mr Knight's home country of the UK. The window had a large balcony with a black violin placed near the curtains.

In the left part of the room was a large king sized bed with freshly made covers. A wall mounted TV was in full view when one lied on the bed, below it was the bed of a black Labrador that belonged to the young man and it's occupant was fast asleep. A large bookshelf was placed nearby with thick and heavy books on each shelf.

Mr Knight checked the time on his phone, despite how hopeless he was with technology. Earlier in the evening he had wrestled with a ninja girl who went by the name Ninjette, although Ryan had guessed it wasn't her actual name. He had arranged to meet her in his apartment for a glass of red wine, he had the impression that the ninja girl knew how to drink. He was dressed in a red leather jacket with no shirt and dark blue jeans, it was causal attire for him.

"Ah but the wine is my drink, here's hoping I don't fall down as that would be rude to my guest." the young man thought to himself, when he would here the door knock the young man would instantly make his way there and open it expecting to meet Ninjette there with a polite smile on his lips.

Contrary to popular belief, Kozue did, in fact, have casual clothing - she just hadn't had much opportunity to wear it. Before she'd come to Japan, she'd spent a lot of her time on the run, which meant she had to be ready to fight her way out of any place she went into, which meant she had to dress the part - she often went around in her outfit, clothing codes be damned. Here, though, she finally had the opportunity to settle down - at least, in theory. So she dressed appropriately.

She was actually surprised when she came to Ryan's place - she was expecting a mansion in the hills, with a shiny black gate, and a butler named Jeeves. Maybe a security checkpoint. A few watchdogs. Swimming pool. Pools, even.

It wasn't a bad apartment complex, though, from the looks of it - upscale. Made her if Ryan was affording it all on his wrestling paycheck. He'd mentioned something about cases - maybe he was a cop on the sly? No - she knew law enforcement, he wasn't law enforcement, at least nothing like anything back in Jersey.

Then again, this was Japan. Nothing was like New Jersey, she was starting to learn.

At any rate, it was the inside that counted, anyway, and she was still unsure how much of that inside she wanted to see. Ryan was cute, if a little cocky - but she'd been called that herself, how many times? Usually with some sort of expletive added on. She got the definite impression he had aims on her taking an extended stay, and to be honest, she wasn't 100% against it...just a little wary. She'd see how it played out.

She made her way up and gave the door a knock - sure enough Ryan popped out, looking a hell of a lot more casual than before. Hell, even more casual than she was - at least she had a shirt on. His chest was opened for the whole world to see - subtle.

"Hey yo." She looked him over, nodding in approval. "Devil May Cry 3 look, not bad."

Mr Knight smiled as he saw Ninjette standing there, he half expected her to hide above the door and surprize him.
"Devil may cry? Think I played that with my Sister one time, she stopped and complained that it was too hard if I remember correctly. I like that wristband you got there, please take a seat." the young man said as he opened the door to allow the ninja girl in.

His dog's ears would perk up to detect who entered the room, but it had been trained not to attack anyone who entered after a knock so it lowered it's guard and resumed it's sleep. The young man would take one of the fancy red chairs and lean back comfortably in it, crossing his legs as he did so.

Ryan then remembered that the cork opener for the wine bottle was not on the table, he checked his pockets and withdrew the device thanking his habit of checking his pockets when he was missing something. "I take it you've never had wine before yes? Well it's your lucky day, or should I say evening? Anyway, ladies first." the young man proceeded to open the bottle and pour out Ninjette's wine glass first, following with his own shortly after.

"So how's the AFW been treating you so far? It's a bit of a crazy place no?" Ryan said with a chuckle before taking his first wine sip.

She walked in and circled about, admiring the decor. "Oh. Swanky."

'Swanky' was about the right word for it - it wasn't a mansion, sure, but you might not guess that to look at it from the inside. Large bed. Large dog. Large television. She was especially taken by the large blade, and that's where she headed first, looking it over - good craftmanship, authentic - and a gift from France. The 'government of France' - yeah, he was a bigwig, and not afraid to show off. Not that she blamed him on that.

"Hm?" She turned her attention back to him after a moment, glancing back to the blade one more time before she walked his way. "What, I don't strike you as the fancy type? I've had wine before, just not that much. Was my first drink, believe it or not, stole a bottle of koshu from my neighbor's stash when I was what? Thirteen, I think."

She sat down and took the glass, holding it to her nose - not drinking it just yet. Big ninja rule - always be the second to drink from a bottle. "And it's going fine - great, really, better than I thought it would. Beating up boys for money is a good life, who knew?"

Mr Knight looked at Ninjette with a smile and interest on his face "Koshu huh? I'm a tad partial to it myself, low alcohol and quite good with most Japanese cuisine. And at the age of 13? My adoptive Father claims he's been smoking since he was 16, can't say my childhood was that memorable. More of a bad memory than anything else I suppose in retrospect."

He took another sip of his wine and said after "Well the AFW never has a dull moment that is for certain. There's this guy I know, called Jay Zokaro. The guy acts brooding but I know him well enough to tell he's good. Heck it's thanks to the AFW that I even got my own TV show, it's quite controversial." Ryan pretty much melted into his chair, getting himself into a relaxed state.

Ninjette sipped the wine after her did - interesting bouquet, a subtle blend of...well, she didn't really know, not a damn clue, but it tasted nice enough and she downed the rest in a few seconds, blinking as she watched him take it slower. "...oh, right. Duh. Supposed to sip it. Uncouth."

She swiveled in the seat a bit, just watching him drink for the moment. "But yeah, I started early. Started a lot of things early." She looked out the window, wistful, before refocusing on him a second later when she recognized the name drop. "Oh, Jay? Yeah, I know him. Knew him. We fought. I called him a furry. Didn't seem to like it. He was kind of, eh...comme ci, comme ça, if you get me. Kind of weird. Nice enough, though."

"Yes he does have an odd appearance doesn't he? One time I even met this albino dude named Alibaster, take me advice. You see that guy stay clear of him, he's a mad scientist under his polite façade." Mr Knight said, it was true what he said there. He wouldn't wish Alibaster on his worst enemy, which actually was Alibaster himself.

Standing up from his seat Mr Knight made his way over to the large balcony, opening one of the glass windowed doors to step outside. The dark sky of Tokyo was given audio by the form of the many people and cars bustling below the domain of the Knight. A few months ago this balcony would be closed due to the harsh winter air, however the days were getting longer and more warmer. "Better enjoy while it lasts, a few months of warm weather and you forget what it's like to have frost across your window."

The young man would then point to a large building down the road, it had a neon sign of a man doing a disco dance and the name of it was "The swinging Grange"

"My old man runs a club down there, it's one of those 70's disco places. Me and my Sister perform there from time to time, I do a mean moonwalk." Ryan said while swirling the wine inside his glass.

As he got up, she took a little liberty and filled her glass back up, taking her time with it this - sip, sip, sip. Slow. Have a little culture - not at the bar for once, you're at a guy's house, so...

...wow. When was the last time she was actually invited to a guy's house for anything other than a one-night-stand? She could not for the life of her remember. Said a lot about the life she'd been leading up until now. Shit.

She took a gulp of wine at that thought.

She got up and moved to the window, moving some hairs out of her eyes as the wind blew, looking out - sure enough, there was the club. "Huh, yeah, passed by there a few times, thought the name was weird." She ran her finger over the edge of the glass, looking back to him after a moment with a raised eyebrow. "'Perform'? So, what - like, professional dancing?" A mental image of Ryan doing a poledance popped in her head...wasn't that bad of an image, really. Might save it for later. "Reminds me, you mentioned something about case at the match - what is it you do for a living? Besides wrestling, no shit."

"If by perform you mean doing a Michael Jackson impersonation then yes, still I don't mind." Ryan said with a smile.

When Ninjette asked Ryan what he did outside of the ring he lightly bit his lip, as if it was somewhat of a delicate matter. Eventually he said "Well don't go spreading this around but...Sometimes the Tokyo police request me and sometimes my Father as he is a Doctor. We perform things ranging from an autopsy to a first survey of a crime scene, but we only act in an advisory state no more than that, sorta like Sherlock Holmes if you will."

The young man from the UK then turned to the ninja girl and said "But don't tell anyone about that okay? To the AFW I'm just a typical rich kid with no day job, and a Father who is the weirdest Doctor on the planet." winking and sipping his wine again, moving back to the table to fill his glass.

"Really? Michael Jackson?" She had a little chuckle - the mental image of him with a single silver glove on and red jacket was just too much. She'd pay to see that - hell, she might even drop by, sometime. "Figured you for more of a Prince fan, really. Kind of weird to picture."

She finished off the wine and let the last sip stay in her mouth a bit, swishing it around before letting it sink. "Huh. Detective." And a good one, if the French door prize he had hanging up was any hint. "Yeah, you do have that whole blonde Benedict Cumberbatch thing about you, kind of see it. Interesting little skill set for a wrestler to have - your father teach you all about it?" She the glass on the table - enough, for now - and closed the window behind her as she stepped in. "And don't worry - ninja, remember? Secrets are my specialty."
