Domino vs. Carmen Rodriguez

A trio of heavy hits in short order; an enzuigiri, a high body drop, and a running stunner. The audience is roaring in approval, and Domino's confident that's put a hitch in her giddyup! So when he shifts onto a knee and finds her already sitting up again, his eyes widen. 'Frickin' girl's got durability!'

As he lifts to his boots again, he considers her more deeply. It makes sense that she has that sort of... dogged persistence, even if it means she's standing while practically unconscious. She's a boxer, after all. And that demands some respect. But that same crazy determination could lead her to a world of punishment. And while she's trying to clear her head on those wobbly feet, Domino is in action again.

No strikes. Strikes are what she's best at. She's got fair defense against that. She's used to facing people up-front, brawling but with more refinement. So the best way to bring her down would have to be demonstrating the variety and versatility of professional wrestling.

The teen comes at her again, but at an odd angle. He leaps to the side, planting his boots to the middle rope before vaulting towards her. His lean body stretches taut in the air, leading with his left arm aimed to hook her head and yank her down again. This time, if successful, the impact will hammer her chest and midsection against the mat in a diving bulldog.

Yeah. There was the look. The 'how the hell are you still standing' look. Carmen was quite familiar with it - she'd seen it a thousand times from a thousand faces on a thousand people who thought their thousands of punches would be enough to keep her down for the ten-count...and they were all shown to be very, extremely, painfully wrong.

As he takes a moment to consider his next move, she steels herself, calls on her reserves to get her head back in the game. He'd had a good run so far, but she was going to put an end to it. Right. Now.

He came at her again, this time trying to come at her from the side, bouncing off the rope and flying through the air - she recognized the move he seemed to be going for with arms, a bulldog, one of the basic attacks she'd been studying with some added aerial flare. He was probably expecting to catch her off guard, thinking she wouldn't have an inkling about such a move. Dead wrong.

She lets him grab her head, but his body doesn't come down - not yet, anyway. She'll catches him mid-leap with both arms, holding him like a falling baby, keeping him cradled for one, precious moment - and then she'll slam him down on her knee in a backbreaker, letting his body flop to the mat.

Domino's arm connects with the girl's neck, but... what looked like unsteady feet and a dazed head turns out to be totally not. Surprisingly not. Rather than the momentum combined with his weight drawing her down for a fourth punishing blow, he finds his body whipping around to wind up in her arms. Eyes widen for that bare moment before his back comes crashing down over her knee, arching painfully with a yelp!

"AGH!"

The teen's body rolls from her knee to hit the mat, ending on his back. One knee rests steepled, his eyes squeezing shut for a moment to work out the pain.

Finally. Took her long enough to get some of that momentum back - the kid was good, she'd give him credit - maybe even verbally, later - but she'd been fighting since before he hit puberty. If he thought a few moves were enough to keep her down, he was sorely mistaken. Judging from the look of pain on his face, very sorely.

While he's busy being in torturous pain, Carmen moves in and decides its time to work a little more of that wrestling training she's been doing to good - walking over to his head, she'll reach down, grab his arm, put her legs around his neck and lock him in a triangle choke, with her body weight pressing down on him from above - she'll even add a little extra seasoning by throwing a few punches in his face, MMA-style.

Those eyes open again to peer at the woman as she approaches. He starts to pull himself up, only to find his arm grabbed. As her legs start to close around his neck, the teen realizes what she's doing. But she's doing it in a very... odd... way, from an upper position. A way that's going to cost her. She may be older than him, but wrestling is his thing.

That arm she's grabbed suddenly yanks downwards, his free arm hooking her thigh. The streamlined muscle through his arms pump, intent on suddenly jolting her body down to the mat on her back, between his legs. The motion brings him to sit up, and would end as though he'd just powerbombed the girl. And while there would be some force behind it, it wouldn't be as much as if he had brought her down with a powerbomb, itself. The point of the maneuver is to end her in pinfall position, going so far as to hook his ankles over her shoulders to lock her down.

Okay, she might have miscalculated, here.

She hits the ground hard, her teeth gritting from the impact, and she expects to be let go...but she isn't. In fact, she can't even get free if she wants to - Domino's locked her leg in and he's holding her there as the ref starts to move in for the three-count.

Fuck. Not good.

"One!"

Carmen reached her arm and grabs him around the ankle that he's got locked on her - that thing has to go, and it has to go right now.

"Two!"

At the same time, she powers down hard with her legs above her pushing his torso back at the same she pushes his leg forward - with any luck, that'll put him on his back and get her out of the three count, saving her for the time being.

Domino leans into the pin, his hips subsequently pushing to her rear, thighs to thighs. His hand at her leg tightens to secure her limb across his chest, head tilted forward to lock his eyes onto hers with a defiant glower. As the referee counts off the pin, he starts to wonder if he's got this. Those hits earlier were none too gentle, but he's expecting to have to really finish her off with something big.

He has Total Eclipse plans for this chica, if she works free. That'd be enough to put her down, and be a strong enough hit to let her keep her dignity. He's gotten the feeling that she's the proud sort.

It's fair enough. He is, too, if he's being honest with himself. That's part of why winning this match is important, why he's focusing out that lingering pain in his back. He won't get his title shot unless he proves he deserves it!

When she grabs his leg, the faintest hint of a smile touches his lips. 'Knew you weren't out yet...' As she shoves and twists, the teen is forced off of her and onto his back.

The referee waves a pair of fingers in the air, indicating only a two-count.

Domino shifts onto his side and moves to his boots. He's ready to put this boxer down, but that first calls for a quick setup. He doesn't give the girl much space to work with, hoping to nail her with a boot to the abs. Even better if he can catch her still picking herself up!

And she lives to fight another day. Just barely. By the hair on her chinny-chin-chin.

Cursing herself for the misstep, Carmen starts to get up, rising, when she sees him coming back her way, looking to capitalize - lashing out with a kick to her midsection. She has just enough time to get her guard down and block it, letting it whiff off her arms, then rocket back out with a hard straight to his chest, looking to put some distance between them as she slides back - the kid's getting bold, dangerous, and she needs to get things back under control.

Figuring her best bet is to mix things up, she switches to an closed stance, standing perpendicular to him with one arm cocked back and the other held down - giving herself a smaller profile meant he would have less to grab, which might help throw off his game, not to mention the sudden change could give him a few thoughts.

The shin of his hard boot smacks against her arms, withdrawing without that satisfying purchase of sinking into her midsection. Looks like she isn't ready to be pinned down. Not just yet, at least.

Domino falls back a step with a smirk. "Heck of a backbreaker earlier. Ow," he offers as he slips into his wrestling stance, feet spread and hands lifted. He's very, very aware of her predisposition to punching, though, and how she may try to take advantage of his posture.

Her own is worth noting, eyebrow raised. He closes in with her, fingers spreading as if to invite a lockup. But he's not that stupid. She's not gonna go for that. Odds are, she's going to try to take advantage of his approach. Just before entering range with her, he suddenly feints to the left - towards her hopefully still-weakened arm - and attempts to hook his arms around the girl's belly to bridge back into a German suplex! If he can pull that off, he'll try to roll over her hips to haul her up again and keep her disoriented...

A closed stance made it harder for her to land heavy punches, but it had advantages, as well - the aforementioned smaller profile being one, but also because it increased her maneuverability, letting her move back and forth with ease. She put that to good use here as he comes back in; the moment he goes for the feint, she swing around and keep him in her sights, lashing out with a quick jab aimed for his face - nothing too damaging if it hits, but it would give him some incentive to watch his ass.

She jumps back out of his range right afterwards and starts to bounce on her toes, putting on a little smile and making sure he sees it. She points to him, then points to her lips, then points to her butt - curious if he'll make the connection.
