The short version is that it's not clear what exactly Tension IS, handling mixed matches is a problem, and every Tension girl also being in Friction is a problem.

Like is Tension specifically for mixed wrestling?

Why on earth would tension management hire 90lb girls and 300lb guys and book them in matches together? IC it's pretty well impossible to justify because it's strictly and OOC fetish thing. Which is fine, but one off mixed matches to fulfill whatever your fetish is don't do anything to establish a setting or a story, and those are the things that I think produce interest and activity.

To me, anyway, and I know I'm not exactly the majority leader here.

That seems like fairly reasonable complaints to have. I don't really know too much about tension, honestly, but I can see why those things would be problems.

I don't know, all of my Tension male characters are comparable in size with their female opponents.
And yes, it has something to do with having a fun RP and something to do with a fetish, which I think is allright.
I'm pretty sure that hentai female vs female matches have something to do with a fetish too, and it doesn't annoy me.

Think we kind of established that AFW is a sadistic organization that is sex centered and caters to its viewers for its fetishes. Which, IC wise, is why they happily hash out 120 lbs jobber males to get smothered by the girls. The "Fans" love it and it makes money. Same thing in maledom scenarios. And then you have your competetive scene is almost always made up of a roster with somewhat similar height and weight.

Yeah we lack some story but honestly, same shit happens in friction. I see tons of people who have a match, they go backstage and fuck and it snowballs from there.

Why doesn't this happen as much in Tension? Because its usually not CONSENSUAL. Dood fights, losses, chick rapes him, game over. Move on.

In friction its usually consensual so actual relationships develop.

So it's not a LEAGUE thing so much, it's more related to the people, I believe.

But you don't usually rp with the people who want one off matches in friction, do you? You've given Tension players like me and Bean, the same chances to build something like you would with mostly friction players who aren't smut only. It's not the league. It's the people. If people aren't building stories its their fault plain and simple.

I watched Casino Royale last night. It's pretty sexy.

Hardcore porn can also be sexy.

But no one has ever sat down to watch 2 hours and 25 minutes of hardcore porn, because it's only purpose is to get down to business.

I'm really not interested in the hardcore porn approach, and I try to take the Casino Royale approach. It's not like I'm saying sexual stuff is bad, I just think that story and emotional investment trumps immediate gratification.

Did you know Daaharu was also into story tho? By most of his threads you could have argued he was more for fetish than fighting or story. But then we found out he likes story too and bam. Y'all are writing something.

Maybe you ask too much from an rpsite that is so smut heavy?

You can rag on Tension all day but Friction was similar when you joined and your activity with Tat and others (Slow activity that took time to amass more partners) built a world for you that ignored the THIS LEAGUE IS ONLY FOR HENTAI.

If Tension has "nothing". You're either A. Not Rping with the right people that suit what you want, despite our limited roster. B. You've contributed nothing as of late to change it into something you would want, you made Zak but you havent done anything with him yet (and I understand why and I dont blame you, but thats unrelated) You've made stories for me and bean but that's crafting an AFW universe rather than a Tension or Friction universe.

But most of you who claim Tension is bad, never do much to change the situation or even play there. None of you were trying to find SOMETHING during winter 2010 where it was just me, Cantmakemetap and Ryu, waiting for matches. Now we've got plenty of shit to do.

It's fine the way it is, imo. Some you ask for too much out of something that is 5times as healthy as it was during sex wars.

TL;DR

You may have heard me say every time the subject comes up that I know I'm in the minority here. I stick around here because I've found a few people that I like. It's not like I go busting in on people's hentai threads like "DO IT MY WAY OR ELSE".

People like to defend the majority to the death with me, but I'm allowed to like what I like just like anyone else.

This site is where it is now because of the common stuff mods have put in place. Friction/Tension/FnF/whatever, Avalanche and SS, blitz tournaments, etc. That's all stuff that Kel/Tat/Egge came up with to provide people with a more interesting place to rp.

And like whoever said, I'll take the guy who's interested in making things better over the bitter old man saying things are fine and they're never going to change and life is pain.

Totally agree with Tai on this point. I'd like to have Tat's idea working and I'm not interested in pointless discussions about the coolness of this or that roster. If someone sees Tension as hardcore porn, fine. Not my problem.

You're being overly sensitive. Though I can understand seeing BM's track record for pissing people off and the easily angered roster here.

The idea is gonna happen regardless probably. But I stand by what I said, it starts with folks WANTING to build things. And one of the main issues is the lack of a Tension girl roster. You can see that some folks are happy with crossovers because "I can fuck/get fucked by dat friction gal." But I don't feel there is a real incentive for other players to make Tension girls.

Not to hog the spot light, but that's kind of why I suggested if duo win a title for the contender, they should fight it out to see who is recognized as champion. Even if someone doesn't win, they'll be involved in a story that is followed by others. I dunno about you but that sounds like a good incentive for someone to make a Tension girl. Opportunity at a title story, even if they lose, it's something big.

I know Kelsea said he liked that idea, but in my opinion, that's the best thing I can think of to really push people to have an Exclusive Tension Girl
