Bury the hatchet, bring out the knives

"Yeah talk to you later..." Adrian said, breathing a sigh of relief before looking back at Cassie with a somewhat expectant look. If she was gonna give her the 'mom' look, then she could at least give her the 'mom' affirmation that she hadn't screwed up.

Cassie watched Adrian, wide eyed in anticipation, until she was off the phone. Then she stood there in silence for a moment, almost nervous to say anything. She didn't want to jinx it.

"So." She said finally, in a voice as if she already knew the answer. "How'd it go?"

And that answer was awesome.

"She said that she'll... call me back?" Adrian said, nervously shrugging her shoulders. "Well, she didn't laugh. So... yaaaaay." the cosplayer gathered, collapsing back down on whatever chair, cushion or attractive bit of floor she could find to lay on. "Wait. She's living in Kyoto right now?" She asked: poking her head up, the cogs in her brain starting to tick more and more as she thought her own scenario through a bit more thoroughly. "How're we gonna train if it's a stupidly long train ride?"

"Oh. Well I guess that's fair. It's kinda out of the blue for her and all." Cassie said, settled, but not disappointed.

She gave Adrian a look like she was obviously being silly. "Adrian." she said. "It's a two hour train ride. If you're serious about getting better and your career and stuff, you can sit on a train for a few hours. Just bring something to do, spend the night in Kyoto, and come back the next day. Or stay there for a week, whatever. I usually just bring school work or something. Sometimes I talk on the phone."

Adrian had come this far, and Cassie wasn't going to just let her wriggle off the hook now.

"School work?" Adrian asked, rolling over onto her back to sit up straight "You still have school work?" she asked again, bringing a hand to her mouth in an attempt to stop laughing "Seriously? This is like, a different continent: we've got jobs and you've got school work?" She giggled out. "Sorry! Sorry! Ahem... yeah I'll think of something to do, even if it's just download a few tracks or something. Thanks for the help Cassie! I owe you... probably a couple of things by now, so thanks for the phone number and stuff and we seriously need to do other stuff but I probably should head back before Becks wonders where I've gone, nothing important like I'm late for the doctors again but, never mind, not important." The cosplayer rambled, feeling slightly relieved, even if the worst part was yet to come she had made it over the first hurdle in record time.

"But seriously, School work?"

Cassie blinked. "Yes..." She said. She tucked her chin down and blushed a little.

"You don't have school?" She said in a voice much smaller than she intended. She figured that Adrian didn't really, not that it was a bad thing or anything. She cleared her throat.

"I finished high school a year early, and it would've been a waste to stop there. And my parents would never let me just run off to be a pro wrestler without keeping up with college. So I do online classes... nothing too specific right now, but I like to write and I like learning about... things." She explained. "I like to read."

There was nothing wrong with doing college and AFW at the same time! How did she manage to make her feel like there was?

"It's just part time, anyway." She said dismissively. She also didn't like Rebecca much, but mostly just because of the tension between her and Taylor. She wasn't sure what all happened, if anything, but it wasn't hard to figure out that there was some kind of bad blood there.

"Okay, go home and stop making fun of me. Go train hard and tell Taylor hello for me, okay?" She said with a smile.

"Ohhhhhhh... college, yeah: that makes a lot more sense." Adrian said, "Why didn't you say college work? I mean it sounds much more serious than calling it schoolwork. Sorry." She apologized, slipping out the door "See ya, promise I won't make fun anymore..." She said in a somewhat happy tone as she left. "Good luck with stuff!"

Akashi was on her towards her door with a large bag of groceries in one hand when she saw someone begin to leave. She wrinkled her brow in confusion at first but then she recognized who it was and she beamed brightly, marching up like she was going to tackle Adrian, her wooden geta sandals clacking loudly and her breasts threatening to spill out of her kimono.

"A-Adrian-chan?" She said. "You said that you were busy today..." Akashi's eyes fell as if she were disappointed but then lifted and twinkled with a sudden spark of interest. She stepped forward and slid her free hand up to run her fingers gently through Adrian's hair.

She leaned in. "Or did you come to surprise me because you realized how much fun we'd have." She purred. "Well, I have to make Cassie-san dinner but I think that I could convince her to go visit Taylor or something." She said with a big grin.

"Meep!" Adrian let out as Akashi marched towards her just as she was leaving "I-I-I am busy! This was an important thing I had to do today, you can ask Cassie: she'll back me up." she rattled off quickly as the sumo ran a hand through her hair. "Besides, wasn't the deal both of us? Becks isn't here so no um uh... times today. See ya!" she rambled nervously before taking the first opportunity to run for her life away from Akashi.
