Tomomi Watanabe vs Cassie Elliot

The punch didn't make Cassie loosen her hold at all, which frustrated Tomomi. She seemed to remember Cassie having lots of trouble taking a hit. Had her training toughened her up this quickly? If so, Tomomi would have to be a lot more careful in this match. She was already caught in a bad position and she needed to break out quickly, before Cassie put her into a worse one.

The idol wound up to punch again, but suddenly she felt Cassie lifting her legs up by the hips! Tomomi's eyes widened as Cassie suddenly shoved her off to the side while simultaneously trying to roll on top of her. Tomomi scrambled to deny Cassie her position. She hit the mat on her back, letting out a low grunt, but immediately pushed up with her hips to arch her back, pushing with her free arm against Cassie's body to toss the light and small Canadian off above her head before Cassie could get into a good position. Most of mat grappling matches were slow as one side locked in holds on the other, but during these transitions there was an intense flurry of activity. Tomomi knew she had to move quickly right as Cassie was changing her hold, since it was her only chance to reverse things.

Before Cassie could secure her position and get her weight down on Tomomi, the idol bucked and tossed her off. She rolled once before getting quickly to her knees, ready to press the action if she had to but she opted to play it safe.

She stood up and circled back to the middle of the ring. She flashed Tomomi another smile and clapped her hands once with a gleeful little hop, kicking one foot up behind her. The crowd laughed at her sudden girlish excitement, but then Cassie was right back to business. She circled.

She put her hands up in front, reaching out with her left out of habit and to keep Tomomi thinking about Cassie trying to lock up. This time she didn't wait for Tomomi, though, and she attacked. She took a quick step in and swung her left leg up in a roundhouse kick, aiming her shin for Tomomi's stomach.

After shoving Cassie off Tomomi quickly rolled to the side and got up as well, not wanting to fall behind Cassie for an instant. Luckily for her Cassie took her time and allowed Tomomi to get up and get ready as well. Cassie's seemingly cold and focused demeanour disappeared for a second as the girl hopped a little in excitement, making Tomomi smile and shake her head slightly. It lasted only a second though as Cassie settled back down into focused fighting mode. Tomomi raised her arms in a battle stance as well, readying herself for another tangle with this dangerous little girl.

"What will you do this time Cassie?" Tomomi wondered out loud. She knew she had to be careful, otherwise Cassie would just overwhelm her with speed and technical skill once again. Cassie came forward quickly and didn't appear to want to grapple. When she was close she suddenly threw a leg up for a powerful kick! Tomomi jumped back in surprise, though not far enough as Cassie's foot caught her stomach. "Ack!" the idol grunted. It was a surprisingly powerful kick, given how Cassie didn't seem to be a striker. Tomomi remembered that the girl had kickboxing experience as well, even if she didn't use it much.

But the idol wasn't about to take this hit lying down. Almost by instinct Tomomi went to grab Cassie's leg before she could pull back, remaining slightly hunched over as she tried to hug Cassie's leg close. If she was successful, Tomomi would attempt a trusty move. She would turn and twist sharply to the side, trying to use her body weight and Cassie's lessened balance to toss the girl to the mat in a Dragon Screw, keeping her leg in the idol's grasp for further holds!

"Ah!" Cassie cried out. She had to throw herself to the side with Tomomi's move just to keep her leg from being twisted too badly, and she landed on her hip.

For a second she reached down for her leg as sharp pain shot through it, but she quickly shook it off. If she weren't as able to roll with it, it could've done some real damage. As Tomomi got back to her feet, Cassie reached out to wrap her ankles around the idol's leg and twisted sharply to the side, aiming to bring her down to her knees for a chance to get up safely.

Taking Cassie down was the easy part, Tomomi had to not only keep her down, but also outmatch her on the mat, where even if Cassie was in a worse position she could turn things around in an instant. People really underestimated this girl because she was so small and her match record wasn't exactly spectacular, but Tomomi knew firsthand how Cassie fought, and it scared her. The dragon screw worked well though, hurting Cassie and taking her down. Tomomi quickly moved to capitalize on this.

"I'm coming for you- ah!" Tomomi was the one gasping in surprise as Cassie suddenly got her in a drop toe hold and tripped the idol. She fell to her knees. Cassie tried to get up from this position as Tomomi scrambled to keep her down, reaching out to grab Cassie's leg and pulling hard to both unbalance her to keep her down, and to get a limb to grab onto and work in a submission hold!

Cassie got to one knee and was standing up when Tomomi yanked her leg out from under her. She flopped onto her back with a crash and kicked to free her leg.

"You're weird." She said without thinking about it as she began to stand back up on her one free leg. She was thinking that Tomomi was taking sort of a weird approach. Cassie thought she'd be more hesitant to wrestle with her. Either way, it couldn't be a bad thing for her.

Tomomi grabbed Cassie's leg tightly, eager to drag the girl into a painful submission hold, but before she coud Cassie suddenly kicked out. Tomomi's didn't have a strong enough grip to keep her hold so Cassie's leg jumped out of her hand. Unfortunately for the idol her face was quite close, and she wound up recieving a boot right in the cheek. It knocked her head sideways, making the idol crash down onto her back, seeing stars from the force of the blow. Tomomi groaned, sitting back up and rubbing the side of her face.

"I'm weird?" Tomomi asked quizzically. She had no idea what Cassie meant. She didn't want to jump into a fight either, so she decided to take it slow and get some answers. "How am I weird? You're weird!"

"Shh."

Now that she was free, Cassie went right back to work. She pounced on Tomomi and seized her by the wrist, and then dragged her back to her feet. She took a big step, put a hand on the idol's back and slung her off at the ropes, grunting with the effort.

Now Cassie was shushing her. Who was the weird one again? Tomomi had no time to think on it though, as Cassie suddenly lunged at her and grabbed her wrist, pulling the idol up to her feet. Tomomi knew what was coming next. Cassie threw her out towards the ropes, but Tomomi knew she was stronger than Cassie. She stepped out, seeming like she was getting tossed out, before suddenly planting her feet and turning around, reversing the grip on Cassie's wrist and turning to toss Cassie out towards the corner instead!

"Not this time!" Tomomi said as she tried to whip Cassie into the corner. She even had a followup if her reversal was successful.

Cassie made a surprised, high-pitched noise as she ended up being the one flung at the ropes. She stumbled and tried to get her footing, but barely had time to turn before reaching the ropes so she could hit them with her back. The ropes shoved her back toward Tomomi, before she was ready, and all she could think to do was duck as she stumbled back toward the idol, with her hands up covering her head.
