Batman and Robin was pretty successful, actually. :P

I'm talking about fan backlash, which Indy 4 had in spades. Just as bad as the overblown backlash for the Star Wars prequels.

Ok, 238 Million revenue for Batman and Robin is not really a bombed movie but according to wiki, it was the one with the worst results of all Batman movies.

SW Episode I was probably horrible for most fans, but it cashed big time with 924 Millions revenue.

And the unnamed one scored an impressive 742 Million viewers, I think it's rather doubtful that the francise will not be revived after such results, fan backlash or not.

You have to factor in a few things though.

One is the merchandising. Batman and Robin made a ton of money from toy sales and the like. Second is that, at that point in time, comic book movies weren't anywhere near as big as they were now.

Third is that, Episode I had a TON of hype behind it for being OMG A BRAND NEW STAR WARS MOVIE, whereas Batman and Robin...did not.

Its about time Lucas stopped holding onto the franchise, in thus destruction or redemption, maybe it will be "m'ok" to see what Disney can do, since STAR-TOURS was partnered with LucasFilm and Waltfreezeney. (Great ride~ ^-^)

George Lucas was the worst thing that ever happened to Star Wars. Empire Strikes Back proves it.

Personally speaking, I find that the original trilogy are entertaining but really not as great as the fandom believes them to be. I laughed more than anything and felt like I was watching it MST3k Style.

I WILL say, however, that I WASN'T around to see them when they first opened in theatres, when the SFX were revolutionary. I think that they ARE important movies and people SHOULD see them but when it comes down to it, they aren't the greatest thing since sliced bread movie wise.

The Fourth Indiana Jones actually could have been decent. The reason it was ultimately bad was because Sean Connery had retired from acting.

Setting that aside, what ruined it after he had to be written out of the original script was the fact that Steven Spielberg sucks ass and "Couldn't portray Nazi's as comical villains because of Schindler's List."

Yeah but Portraying Russians who killed MILLIONS MORE of THEIR OWN PEOPLE as comical villains, that's ok!

Hate Spielberg.

There was one other thing in the movie I hated, but I can only remember those two.

300 was good, btw. And has mroe to it than the quotes. It's got boobehs! <img src=

" title="cookie" /> And the actual story of Thermopylae is pretty neat and aside fromt he wierd, crazy shit that Xerxes is rolling with, it's sort of accurate.

Yeah, it's a good thing that Lucasfuilms was bought at least in the SHORT Run.
