Re: Is the word "Ninja" dead to you?
Naruto is a DBZ wannabe series trying to make things more complicated but just getting silly.
The same "guy that loves fighting saves the world from big bad strong villain" stuff.

Re: Is the word "Ninja" dead to you?
THANK YOU.
It's just DBZ...WITH NINJORS!!!
As for Bleach...I liked that show better when it was called Yu Yu Hakusho...and I liked THAT show better when it was called DRAGONBALL Z!

Hi, that's called the shounen genre.
Which, believe it or not, Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z was not the first entry in. If you're going to say this or that is ripping off DBZ, at least give the proper credit and remember that the Dragonball franchise itself wasn't too original in concept either.

Re: Is the word "Ninja" dead to you?
I hate people that say that things are Dragonball clones or copies. In my opinion Dragonball was pretty bad, I didn't like it and I didn't care for it. I liked Naruto a lot more, I still kinda enjoy it even though It was stupid.
To be fair though, Dragonball was pretty stupid as well. Just saying.
( Dragonball wasn't bad...it just wasn't my thing, same could be said for other shows.)

I still like ninjas. Good times watching TMNT growing up. Tend not to treat the Naruto group as ninjas since there isn't much ninja-like about them these days.

Yep, Dragonball was a rip off of "Journey to the West" or something. A famous old tale. I think from China.
Dragonball Z was a ripoff of Dragonball, only with really stupid plots, stupid explosions, and really stupid hair.
If Dragonball Z invented anything, it was the stupid anime hair.

Re: Is the word "Ninja" dead to you?
I guess that the first shonen was "Tiger Fist" or something like that, Idk one friend of mine who knows shitloads about anime told me it once but I don't remember now '-'
Yeah, they pretty much follow the same formula: "Guy that loves fighting saves the world from big bad villain". Also, most of them have also one tsundere rival:
Sakura Card-Captors - Shoran
DBZ - Piccolo/Vegeta
Naruto - Sasuke
Pokemon- Gary
Shurato - Gai
Inuyasha - Seshomaru

Re: Is the word "Ninja" dead to you?
Wouldn't the first Shonen show be Ogon Batto, or maybe Astro Boy ?
Actually I think the first official one is Astro boy, but I could be wrong.

Hmm I guess that Astro Boy is the first, but it's not exactly a martial arts Shonen.
