Kurai vs. Songbird

Songbird managed to get one arm off of her head in the crossface, but Kurai still maintained her hold and would use that free arm to reach for her legs. Feeling that this was redundant to the previous hold, Songbird would try to kick her legs free to make sure that grab was only temporary.. At the same time, she would continue to punch the other hand to better her chances of being released. Still, she would try to resist the pain and hoped that it would be enough to make her opponent release her.

Kurai had tried to make the slowly depreciating scenario turn back to her favor, but Songbird was having none of it. She kicked her legs out immediately, and kept punching Kurai's hand, trying to get the release. Kurai had to do some damage control, she would try to pull back one more time, then release her head while using her other arm to smash Songbird's face into the mat! This would hopefully allow for Kurai to get up, and move to stomp at Songbirds arms, whichever was closer, at least four times.

Songbird cringed in pain once more as Kurai pull back one more time in the crossface before smashing her face in the mat. "RRGH!" Songbird grunted as her face hit the mat hard and she covered it with both hands to try and relieve the pain. But knowing that her opponent might try to take advantage of it, Songbird would try to roll away fast to the ropes to avoid any other attacks. If she was able to make it, she would try to relax herself a bit before slowly getting back up to face Kurai again.

Kurai was able to daze Songbird with the slam to the mat. Still, Kurai knew her opponent was quick to react, but she hadn't been expecting that she would roll to side so quickly, so she only got two stomps in. Kurai saw Songbird trying to get up, but she knew better than to slow down. Kurai would try to run forward and spear her opponent using her speed, but if she avoided it Kurai would probably end up outside the ring!

Songbird hissed as she tried to relieve the pain on her arms and stand up using the ropes. But as she was taking a few breaths, she could feel the mat shake as Kurai went fast to try and spear her. Gritting her teeth in frustration of not getting enough rest, Songbird decided that she'll ditch her rest and throw this girl off for a while. So Songbird would attempt to go a few inches forward to Kurai and suddenly drop down to scissor her legs to make her trip and fall onto the ropes. If that worked, she would get up quick (though still hurting) and get to the other side.

Kurai had charged, to keep the wind out of Songbird as she had shown what she could do if given time. Songbird was still trying to fight back however, and this was a little surprising for Kurai to see her get up instead of resting. Knowing she had to be up to something considering she had to be hurting, Kurai tried to turn her run into a far more deadly kick, only to see Songbird drop down and scissor her leg, tripping her, letting her own momentum slam her gut into the ropes! Kurai would stay for a moment, rubbing her stomach gently "Owww...." she groaned as she tries to get back up and face Songbird's direction. She had mis-predicted she thought as she did so, but the fact that she recognized something was up meant she was begining to understand how Songbird fought.

Songbird was glad that she was able to escape from Kurai, but she knew that it wouldn't be long before she came back to attack her again. After a few more moments of rest, she would get back to her fighting stance and keep her focus on Kurai. By now, it would seem that her opponent knows her fighting style, so she needs to be aware of that as the fight rages on. She would slowly walk to her and keep a good distance to ready herself.

Kurai got back up, with her opponent moving towards her, Kurai was ready for a full combonation now, the match was getting intense. Kurai stepped forward with a flash of anger and would attemp to fly in with a left kick, mostly to allow her to swing behind her for an elbow to the back, in preparation for a brutal reverse kick!

Songbird would be watch Kurai as she was coming in with a flying left kick and put her arms up to try and block it. But she didn't realize that it was a ploy to swing behind her for an elbow to the back. "NNGH!" Songbird cried out as the tip of her elbow hit her back pretty hard and it made her stagger forwards. She would turn around to see what Kurai was gonna do next and it turns out there was also an incoming kick aimed for the back. Trying to take initiative, Songbird would attempt to grab that leg and spin her onto the mat.

Kurai was full on martial arts mode at this point; relentless, and deadly. She managed to trick Songbird with her kick, and smiled as the elbow connected. But Songbird wouldn't let anything dent her fighting spirit, and she grabbed Kurai's kick and began spinning her towards the mat. Kurai, thinking on her feet would try to place her hands on the mat, and strike with a kick with her other foot to Songbird's head! "Take this!"
