Volcanica vs. Artemis

It was a quiet day at the gym when a young girl came in wearing a dark red sleeveless jacket with collars covering her nose and mouth, black fingerless gloves, dark red pants and boots, and had flaming hair. Her name was Volcanica and she hails from Great Britain. Despite being a hot-headed veteran who always gets fired up about fighting, she also enjoys a bit of time off and relaxation at the gym to home in on her current skills and try out some new ones.

As of now, she's just stretching out her arms and legs out before she can begin her little practice.

This wasn't the first time Artemis had entered this gym; but she hoped for her own sake it would be a bit different to the last time. She had come here to prove herself; instead, Mississippi had embarrassed her. This time would be different; she wasn't going to be caught off guard like a deer in the headlights.

She walked with determination in her eyes towards the ring. Her spar with Volcanica was the perfect opportunity to prove to herself and to everyone else that she belonged here. She had to.

Volcanica was still stretching out her legs when she suddenly heard footsteps from the door. She turned around and saw another girl walking in. Feeling a need to greet her, the flaming-haired girl got up and rushed over to Artemis and said, "Oh hello! You seem to be new here." She would offer up a hand in greeting. "My name's Volcanica and you are?" She hopes that Artemis doesn't mind her British accent.

(BTW, does Artemis wear the same outfit as the last time she was at the gym or different?)

(Yup, same outfit!)

Seeing the redhead walk towards her offering her hand, Artemis would shake it and smile. "Artemis, and yeah, I am new round here. Was just coming in looking for a spar actually...maybe you'd be interested?" she'd ask. The way Volcanica was streching when Artemis had walked in had tipped her off that maybe the British girl looking for a challenger.

"Pleased to meet you, Artemis." responded Volcanica in the handshake. As soon as their hands broke off, Artemis wondered if she was interested for a spar. Volcanica said, "Well, sure! I was taking a break from fighting in the ring and I do enjoy a good spar every now and then. So you can count me in." If no further questions are asked, Volcanica would head over to the ring right away for she was excited to see what skills this new girl had.

"Why are you taking a break currently?" Artemis would ask as she calmly followed Volcanica over. Although she had calmed considerably from how tense she was when she first walked into the gym, Artemis still held onto her determination. It showed in the way she walked, trying to ooze confidence and power. She had learnt from last time that she couldn't just take people on face value; while Volcanica seemed nice enough, that could all change once they got started...

As Volcanica was walking over to the ring, she heard Artemis ask why she's taking a break. With not a second to waste, Volcanica responded, "Well for a veteran like me, having to fight so often kind of leaves you burned out (no pun intended for me). Sometimes, we all need to get some time to make up with our friends, our family, and even try to enjoy ourselves before getting back to it. You know what I mean, chap?"

When she got to the ropes, Volcanica would climb over the second one and head to her own turnbuckle.

"Yeah, I guess I understand" Artemis replied...although she had been on the road, away from home almost most of her adult life. The idea of settling down seemed...foregin. Maybe when she got older she'd understand...

Artemis followed Volcanica into the ring, and rest herself at the near turnbuckle as Volcanica went to the far one. She'd wait until Volcanica had turned around as the two fighters took the invisible signal that each other was ready. Artemis would walk cautiously out of her corner and approach Volcanica, keeping her hands up in a fighting stance...but if Volcanica came too close, she'd try and lash out with a knee to the stomach to gain a quick upper hand.

"Perhaps the idea of settling down is not really the best for some, but I say that a break once in a while can keep your head straight and focused." Volcanica would watch Artemis as she got to her own corner and prepared herself for the spar. After a few moments, both girls would go cautiously out of their corners, getting into their fighting stances and ready to strike at the right time. Volcanica would comment, "I'm interested to know what kind of skillset you have, Artemis." And with that, she would lash out with a left hook to the face.

As she was prepared, Artemis was able to slightly lean back so the left hook only just caught her. Still, it had enough power in it to make her stagger backwards a step.

"well, if you stand still long enough, you'll find out!"

Not letting up, Artemis would try again at striking forward and kneeing Volcanica, and following it up with grabbing the British girl's head under her right arm and the top of her pants with the left, dropping her with a DDT. Volcanica had the height advantage, but Artemis still thought she might be able to overpower the girl with her strength.
