So, one of my buddies at work got married recently. Ever since his wedding, literally EVERYONE has been on my ass, asking me when I'm going to finally get a girlfriend.

Today, I spoke without thinking when someone asked, and said I had one, and everyone can finally get off my back about it. Then they started asking me for details, so I ended up weaving all of these details about my girlfriend who doesn't actually exist.

Guys, I've finally gone from 'sometimes kind of cool' to 'laughably pathetic.' >__>;

Oh well. I'll give it three weeks or so and then break up with her, tell everyone it didn't work out or something.

Look at it as more of an impromptu character creation moment, a test of your creative ability to come up with a believable construct on the spot and under pressure. Such trials maketh the writer.

Tell them her name is Tatyina and she wears dorky glasses and has long but unkempt brown hair.

I'm actually really damn good at worldbuilding and creating little details on the spot. Years of DM work and a lifetime of having too much free time on your hands does that to a person.

Her name is Ramona, actually. Ramona Elizabeth Parker. She does have dorky glasses but her hair is shorter and is more of a reddish-brown in color. She's 23 and studying biological science at the local college.

I hear that. I am blessed and cursed with a great bunch of players whom, every Tuesday, I have to try and outwit and stay one step ahead of to keep the game challenging for them. It's like three hours of Game of Thrones style intrigues around the tabletop.
