Serena Light vs Claire O'Doherty

"Come on, can't you say something a bit more original. Mine wasn't original, but it sure as hell wasn't lame as your come back." Serena would say to her as she put up her stance once more. When the bell rang again and the fight resumed, she approached her opponent again. She opened up with a hard left straight but Serena blocked it. Once than, she would follow up with a sledge hammer right left combo. However this time round Serena was not going to take it lying down. She sees the two punches coming in, and for the first time round in this entire match, Serena finally decides to make use of her footwork skills.

When the first sledgehammer fist aimed at her body was executed, Serena suddenly twisted her body barely avoiding the punch as she counters with her own sledge hammer fist to her Claire's stomach.

Throughout tne entire match, Serena never had the chance to show off her footwork, but now she was going to use it.

Clare would have been happy that her opponent blocked it, giving her a fight, yet things grew a bit more serious at this rate. With pride on the line now, she had thrown her other two punches in an angry haze. She felt Serena's punch and let out a grunt. Serena had become mouthy out of nowhere, and suddenly displayed considerable skill, she was a cute little thing, but now Clare was too peeved to care. That said, she found the prospect of a true challenge to be arousing. She already expected a knock down drag out fight at this point. Taking the punch in stride, Clare strafed aside again, firing a cocked right at Serena's ribs as a response. If it had worked out, she would back up after the fact, deciding it was time to play defender, where she could turn the tide of the fight when an opening presented itself.

"Once again, talk is cheap little girl. Perhaps you should put more of your focus on your punches." Clare spoke from between her gloves, her opponent's movement would be observed carefully now, she was determined more than she'd ever been.

Serena didn't really care or thought much of her opponent, but hell if she was going to understimate her again. Wehn her fist missed her opponent stomach, she expected a counter attack, and just as she had expected. She saw her countering with a cocked right, and immediately she made her next move. As her opponent fired a cocked right, she would make use of Claire's own tactic from before, she would slap her right with her own left, using that momentum to off set her as she gave one uppercut to her opponent's chin.

Clare felt her glove get slapped away, she knew instantly where Serena would go with this, and per her better judgement, she'd backed off as planned. Serena was more of a threat up close, as Clare had a reach advantage and would count on that for the moment, firing off a sudden left hook, just before she would get out of range. If anything, she figured she could close in on Serena in a bit, if she could outlast her opponent in a battle of endurance. It depended on Serena's actions, a part of her would have jumped at the chance to simply stand in the center of the ring and pound on eachother until one of them couldn't take it. For now though, it was on Clare to monitor Serena's actions, remaining ready for anything from her opponent.

Serena chose to ignore defence, she didn't mind if Claire dodged her first attack. She would continue to fight. She charged through the left hook, ignoring the pain that her opponent gave her. She was not going to hold back, she was going to plow through and smash Claire now. She took the intiative and charged before Claire did, she bent to the side and gave Claire a hard punch to her kidneys.

There was no way Claire could step out in time to avoid this, not unless she could break the laws of physics. Although that said, she was still in position to guard it, but had she done it, she would miss her chance to strike at her.

Serena was going to ignore defence now, she was just going to plough through Claire's defence and take her down.

Clare hadn't seen the shot coming, she walked right into the plowing fist, it shocked her for a moment, but it was worth it to set up another hard, swift, combination. She was quick to flick out a hard straight at Serena's forehead, then her hands would drop and she'd pound away at Serena's ribs, the only way she'd let up was until she ran out of gas, or Serena was down, begging for the fight to end. Clare was just as determined now, the smaller girl could take a punch, Clare gave her that. But the irish girl decided she was game to slug it out with Serena, it was a true test of endurance at least.

"Huahg..." Serena grunted as Claire hit her forehead with a hard straight, but she wasn't going to let that stop her.She sees Claire drop her hands to pound at her ribs, from this way she was going she could tell that she wanted to slug it out with her.

Well if she wanted to slug it out with her, she was going to oblige her. She grunted each time she was punched in her ribs, but she was going to try and outlast her attacks by pouding Claire's face with a series of punches. If Claire wanted to pound her ribs, she would return by pounding her face.

She wanted to show that just because she was smaller, that didn't mean she was weaker.

She grunted with each blow to her ribs, but she forced down the pain, determine to knock out Claire.

Clare had known this was coming, but let pride get the best of her. Serena had begun pounding away at her face. Clare hadn't doubted her opponents power, only her endurance. Clare's face was burning as each successive hit had landed. She had to admit that she was at the disadvantage here, taking this much trauma to the head was a recipe for an early nap,. More than likely, she'd end up on the canvas. She was already fighting to keep her feet below her, they felt miles away.

Despite this, Clare had no intentions of backing down. She opted to remain resilient, her hopes were to do some harm, wear Serena down to the point where she couldn't fight anymore. She'd begin sending punches a bit slower, by no means out of gas, but choosing now for even more power at the sacrifice of speed. She couldn't take much more, and only hoped that switching up her attack would give her a chance at victory, a chance to put the even match of an opponent before her, down for the ten count.

Serena was glad that she was winning. Sure the punches she were taking were heavy to her ribs, but from what she was seeing, it looked as if Clare was about to lose this slug fest. It appeared that her punches were more effective as compared to hers...or so she thought.

When she felt Clare slowing down on her punches, she thought she had her, until a power pack punch slammed into her ribs. Her eyes widen in shock at the new found impact to her stomach and she quickly countered with a heavy punch to Claire's face, hoping to push her back. The attack caught her offguard and offbalanced her, if she failed to push her back with that heavy punch, she would be vulnerable, trapped upclose open for Claire's heavy punches.

Clare was in a bad way, but she was incredibly tough. It'd take a big beating to put her down for a ten count, though right now the world was blurry and her head ached. Bruising was apparent on her left cheekbone, and on the right side of her jaw, she left Serena at an advantage in some regards, as head punches gave room for a knock out. Thankfully, she could tell Serena was wearing down, causing her enough pain would make her box slower, she'd have to fight through aches. Clare would launch another hard punch at her opponent, it was fired at about equal timing with Serena's shot, but Clare never saw that punch coming.

Whether or not Clare got to leave another dose of pain to her opponent's chest (where she had aimed as payback for the previous breast punch she suffered), Serena's punch rocked her back on her heels. If stoppage of the fight would have been allowed, it might have been over. The punch was vicious, Clare's body sought support behind her but she was far from the ropes, or a corned, and landed square on her backside, slumped over a bit, in a sitting position. She didn't want to give Serena the satisfaction of another knockdown, to let her know she was in control for the moment. Her pride begged her to get up before so much as a one count was uttered, but her body protested greatly. Back to back knockdowns was never a good sign, she knew she'd have to fight hard to avoid being destroyed. Serena was much tougher than she looked.

As that thought crossed her mind, the ref had begun her count.
"One..."
Get up Clare, don't let her have the satisfaction.
"Two..."

"Three..." her eyes finally opened back up, everything was still spinning a little, and her vision was very blurred. She had a small cut under her eye, which stung horribly, and gave a small trickle of blood to mix with her sweat. When she realized this, she knew it was time to give it all she had left, just as soon as she could gain her composure.
