I don't understand what's so great about tvtropes. It's not all that interesting to be honest

I think it's interesting.

Plus, the pages for specific games/movies/anime/etc. usually have neat trivia on them that places like Wikipedia don't.

For example: I just learned that the very first Touhou game wasn't a shmup. It was actually an Arkanoid clone!

I think the concept of tropes themselves is interesting and individually they can be useful. But that site is really excessive.

Same thing that happened with Wikipedia now. The site is full of people who watchdog over their page of choice, and if you make ONE LITTLE CHANGE THEY DON'T LIKE, will edit it back and get their friends to help support them.

That, and people try to fit every single trope ever made into their game/anime/series of choice, and try to make sure their game/anime/whatever gets credit for creating as many tropes as possible.

Perfect example off the top of my head: Last I checked, the My Little Pony fanbase on the site was trying to take credit for the [url=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JustToyingWithThem:lpqrwec1]Just Toying With Them[/url:lpqrwec1] trope. Yeeeep. My Little Pony reeeeally created the idea of a villian toying with his enemies.

I clicked on that TV Tropes link in Alexandra's post at about 4pm......it is now 11 30 PM....

I CANT LEAVE TV TROPES!!!!!!

Why the hell cant actual books or school be as interesting as TV Tropes is? If it was, I couldve gone to college and actually done something meaningful with my life!!!
