Entrance Theme relation/meaning
Don't know if this topic has been made before, but I was wondering if other people did this as well. Figure it would be a cool discussion topic and such. For my characters I tend to try and give them a theme that relates to them in some way.
For Dante, the first thought was to give him a song from a progressive artist, in relation to his musical tastes. In the end I went with "Just Watch Me" from James LaBrie for a few reasons. It matched that first criteria obviously, but it also sort of goes along with him. It gives a sort of vibe of trying to prove himself whatever way he can. Impressing the masses and such like that. I figured the tune went along with it a bit.
For Heather, her theme had the least thought involved. Gave her "Another Me" by Jeff Hardy. While the choice did have a little reasoning to it, it was more or less just me wanting to get this theme on a character. I figured it WOULD fit her though considering I feel her in-ring attitude is like that of a heel Jeff Hardy. Along with her fighting style.
Alessa was the one I gave the most thought to. I wanted her theme to be one that sounds...different. Any generic "Hyped Up" or "Pissed Heel" theme definitely wouldn't work. I wanted it to be a bit spooky but with a depressing sort of side to it. The song "New Day's Dawn" from Fozzy fit this perfectly. I also listened to the lyrics to make sure it fit with her story a bit. It sort of describes her inner feelings. She feels that without Dante, albeit just knowing that she's close to him in someway, she would fall apart. She puts on the attitude of a cold yet joking type of person, but when not being seen by others she shows her longing for him and has a tinge of helplessness within her that she fights to hide.
So yeah, if anyone else does this sort of thing and would like to discuss it and stuff, that would be awesome.

Re: Entrance Theme relation/meaning
Jeff Hardy has a band? O.o Do they tour with Chris Jericho's band and Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage?
Taylor's got "Last Chance Blueprint" by Rise Against[/url:39rhg8xs]. Taylor's got the punk rock background, and the sample from American Beauty at the start of it fits with Taylor's punky, alternative, misfit sort of qualities. The lyrics are pretty Taylor in various ways... the sort of all-out, last ditch desperation of them, and the chorus fits with Taylor's perception of her own potential failure. Every match she has is like a last chance to her, in her mind if she loses it'll somehow be the end of the road for her and she'll go down as a miserable failure and never gain any respect from anyone or herself.
Cassie's got "Oh, Canada" by Five Iron Frenzy[/url:39rhg8xs]. Pretty self explanatory. She's from Canada, she's super naive and upbeat and energetic. The song is upbeat and energetic and innocent and funny and it's about Canada. Just imagine Cassie dorkily dancing to it and you get the picture.
Allison's my newb. I am having the hardest time finding music for her. It's got to meet a lot of criteria... if should have a sort of dignity or sophistication, while still being somewhat dance-able. Some kind of down tempo, dark, electronic music, possibly involving strings or something, but with enough energy that she'd use it in the last moments before trying to beat the crap out of someone. I like the idea of "Everybody Here Wants You" by Jeff Buckley[/url:39rhg8xs], but it doesn't fit with half the criteria let alone the whole wrestling thing. It's more a song that she'd listen to knowing that it's about someone like her, or what she thinks she is. Or what she wants to think she is. Hm.

Re: Entrance Theme relation/meaning
Kelly Conway's Theme is "Fire Woman" by The Cult. Which is supposed to represent her fiery attitude.
Bonnie & Clyde's theme is "Shout At The Devil" which I gave them in order to represent their wild-child personalties and love for rebellion, along with the fact that they like to party, yet also kick ass.
Andrea's is "Angel of Death" because she's a Thrasher and she'll kill you >.>
Dulsa - "I hate myself and Want to die" and "Lithium" by Nirvana. Dulsa... A bit of an angry emo... Grunge is always good to use >.>

i honestly almost never know what to pick for my girls. hell, i've skipped them entirely before. a lot of times i'll just search youtube or google with the word "lyrics" and a choice word or two to describe them
Mina i picked Believe by Folder 5 because its one of my alltime favorite songs, and seeing the intro online might have been the first time i realize how in love i was with that series

Re: Entrance Theme relation/meaning
I just recently started using "Undisputed" by Rob Halford for Tai, due to the fact the song is about being the flat out best in fighting, which fits cause Tai considers himself the best of the Male Sexfighters. The rest I just picked what I liked.

To be honest; it's mainly a method I use to match the music to their outward personality to compliment their actual appearance/vibe more than anything else~

Sometimes I just pick random music from a band I like, then name the characters moves after songs by that band.
