Avalanche 2023: Friction World Title Match: Rebecca Tomko (C) vs Lucia Lynch

Lucia's assault was arguably the most relentless barrage Rebecca had ever endured, smacking into her shins, calves and thighs all with the intent to chop the big woman down to a more manageable size, the champ was going to have to do something about the leg kicks but every strike made her footing that bit more unsure and her legs that much slower to react to her brain's instructions. There was only one thing she could think of: try to swat Lucia away with a big punch with her free hand. Swinging for the fences as the space she'd aimed a haymaker at no longer held a Lone Wolf but instead was now the space next to a mid-air Lucia. In addition with one fist out there was nothing protecting her head from the incoming blow that sounded throughout the arena: a heel striking the amazon cleanly in the temple, sending her crashing down like a boxer in the climactic moments of a Rocky film.

The weight of the woman pushing down the ropes was too much for the cable to both bare and stay still, buckling enough to send the big woman tumbling out of the ring, her hip smacking into the edge of the ring apron on her way down to the ground for that extra bit of pain before she hit the outside feet first just to collapse all over again to the roar of the crowd, the giant had been felled by the challenger and everyone knew it. The shot of Lucia over the champ midroll out of the ring was going to be a nice addition for every press deal Full Moon Rising did from now until her next movie.

Each kick cracked like splintering wood as she chopped at Rebecca’s foundation. Her own legs were starting to feel a burn of their own and a numbing soreness she knew was going to take her off of her feet for a few days if not a week after this ordeal. She couldn’t let up though, even an inch of a step backwards and the champion was going to drag her all over the arena. With a final crescendo, she set her sights high and felt herself connect with her heel, driving her full momentum into Rebecca. As Lucia landed on unsteady feet, she watched in awe at her own handiwork as the large woman toppled out of the ring. She visibly cringed at the bounce and impact, sounding like a slab of meat dropped off the top of a skyscraper.

The Lone Wolf stepped forward to follow but let out a wheeze, not even realizing how winded the onslaught she had unleashed had left her. She took a moment, leaning against the ropes to draw in breath before carefully making her way through the ropes to stand on the apron. It was a dangerous prospect to take the fight outside the ring, but she needed every advantage she could pile on.

Leaning against the ropes on the outside of the ring, she surveyed the situation as the referee had started their ten count, mostly ignoring the official. She knew she was unable to win due to counting out so she had no intention of trying. Instead, she started to psyche herself up. She hopped from the apron and brought her legs together, aiming to land herself with a double stomp down on top of Rebecca, going for center mass.

With heavy hands pressing against the thin matting covering the concrete, the Amazonian champion started to rise once again. The Lone Wolf's assault leaving her down but no where near out as she rose up onto her knees, grasping out to reach the apron but not aware of what Lucia was doing now. All she'd done was present a higher target as the challenger's leg strength once again did the damage, this time with both boots drilling into Rebecca's spine and flattening her on the ground outside the ring once more with a pained groan of "Ugh!" as the jolt of pain caused her arms and legs to give out underneath her.

A hard drop across Rebecca was enough to bring her to the floor of the ringside area. The woman collapsing under her stomp caused her to land awkwardly, giving a small hop off of the downed woman and stumbling a few steps as she nearly tumbled to the ground herself if not for catching herself on the barricades. Lucia pushed off them with a grunt, a few fans reaching out to touch her arm and back as she moved to her opponent. Rather than attacking outright, the lone wolf slipped by and rolled herself into then back out of the ring to reset the referee’s count. Now she had the freedom to do some damage.

She had tunneled on the champion though, not letting the crowd or even Adrian someplace ringside distract her from the work that needed to be done. Lucia stepped over Rebecca and stopped over her legs, dropping her weight down to smash her knee down into the back of the bigger woman’s, holding it there as an anchor point while she tried to collect the pinned leg and grab hold of her boot. With a firm hook of the arm to hold it steady between her bicep and forearm and a palm applied to the sole of the boot, she would give a hard twist to start applying pressure to her ankle. There was no submission out here, she couldn't win like this, but she needed to keep working the woman's leg and this was her best shot. So she hunkered down and poured all her strength into making the joint bend against the grain.

The brief moment Lucia took to reset the count should have been a much needed reprieve but Rebecca didn't even have time to get back up to her knees before the Wolf was at it again "Kuhh... damn it!" The champion grunted as her leg was pinned down by the challenger, the smaller knee digging into her hamstring as her leg was bent backwards and her ankle painfully twisted, the rigidity of the wrestling boot only providing so much protection against the submission hold as the bigger woman tried to grit through the pain. Her hand balling into a fist as she punched the floor in frustration and agony.

It wasn't as though the Amazon was completely helpless in Lucia's clutches though. Summoning her strength as she gasped and grunted outside the ring Rebecca tried to twist enough on her side to get her free leg up to kick away at the Lone Wolf. Even going so far as to brace her boot against Lucia's shoulder in an attempt to force her off or at very least get her to stop twisting her ankle so god damn much.

Lucia bore down on Rebecca’s ankle with a ravenous viciousness true to her namesake but born of desperation. She was a thick woman whose weighty limbs were hard enough to manage while she wasn’t fighting back but the big woman was intent on making her work for it. Her arms quaked with each crank of the hold, only managing to overpower the bigger woman by merit of her leverage and the amount of effort she poured into twisting the joint.

When Rebecca shifted, Lucia tried to manage her and keep her leg pinned. It was a losing effort though, even with all her weight the woman was managing to partially turn over, it felt like the lone wolf was trying to hold back a piece of advancing construction machinery from rolling down a slope. Forced to concede her position, she raised her knee and moved to straddle the big woman's leg similarly to earlier in their match. This time though she caught a boot heel in her shoulder and with a hard shove from the Amazon she was knocked back, tumbling into the barrier that separated the two of them from the crowd.

With a growl Lucia reached up and back to grab hold of the lip of the barricade, using it to pull herself into a crouched position. Poised to strike, she took a moment to compose herself and watch Rebecca, letting the big woman have a chance to rise. She intended to cut it short though, lunging from her crouched position to close the gap between them and fling her leg out to catch the big woman in the head with a shining wizard.

With a firm push of a heavy boot the pressure around the champion's ankle thankfully faded as Lucia was finally forced off her prey and clattered into the steel barricade behind her, but Rebecca was far from home safe. The Lone Wolf had spent a good deal of effort trying to chop down the bigger woman's vertical base and she would see just how well that was paying off as the prone giant first went to clutch at the aching limb before doing anything so risky as trying to stand up to take the fight to the challenger. The movie star wasn't about to leave her alone any time soon.

As the knee came round for the Shining Wizard the amazon's arm shot up to take the blow instead as the other reached up to grab Lucia around the waist while she rose further up before falling forward when her leg couldn't push herself any higher. There was no fancy technique in what Rebecca was attempting here: just picking up the smaller woman as she stood up and dunking her back down to the arena floor, negative prettiness but a sloppy spinebuster was still a spinebuster after all.

Lucia's knee, originally intended for Rebecca's head, sliced through the air looking to send the big woman back to the floor. The Wolfen actress was relentless, trying her best to stay on top of the champion while she had her in what seemed to be a vulnerable position. Her knee slapped against a solid and unexpected barrier, however, halted against Rebecca's arm which had intercepted the blow before it had even swung the whole way around. In one instant, her momentum reversed with the surging rise of her opponent, upper body snapping forward as she was scooped from the air and sloppily planted across the floor with an improvised spine buster.

Her back thud against the barely padded ground filling her with a blazing pain to go along with her sudden regret as she writhed with shuddered breath beneath Rebecca. The heavy impact had been enough to knock the air out of her, putting the breaks on her momentum entirely as she lay breathless. The referee looked on, keeping a steady count on both women, slowly approaching a disqualification.

The count had hit the halfway point by the time the champ had splatted the challenger on the outside with the massive woman struggling to pull herself away from the crushed body of Lucia "Fuck..." Rebecca winced as she struggled to push herself back on her feet as her body showed the toll the Lone Wolf's kicks had taken on it, every time she tried to put weight on the leg Lucia had worked over she felt an agonizing twinge. Fortunately for her, the amazon wouldn't have to bear the weight alone as Adrian Kytes was ready and waiting to support her with just what she needed: a metal crutch procured from underneath the ring, handed straight over to the champ as soon as she managed to get herself vertical before scurrying away. With ample support Rebecca took the long walk around the ring to find the steps while the official took exception to this sudden use of equipment "I'm not using it as a weapon am I? It's legit!" Rebecca snapped as she made her way sluggishly up the steel steps, the big woman still hobbling along the side of the ring as she threw away the crutch to let it clatter to the floor. Nothing to complain about, right? Wrong! The official's attention on the weapon under the amazon's arm had given her a big ol' blind spot where the other competitor was, leaving Lucia all alone as Adrian zoomed back around to find her, it seemed that the Bullet Club's leader wasn't done creating a headache for the Lone Wolf and showing her why 'Safety In Numbers' was such an important thing.

It started off as harmless as outside interference could get, the semi-retired wrestler just reaching down to hoist the kick-happy challenger up and roll her under the bottom rope helping Lucia to break the count when the referee stopped chastising Rebecca for the use of a foreign object in a match. Adrian wasn't done there though, giving Lucia a little something to remember her by while her head was still out over the apron. The brunette hopped up with glee to drive her elbow straight down across the Lone Wolf's head before pushing her fully inside the ring just in time for Rebecca to step in as well, moving without much of a limp as she closed in. Just like old times with no-one the wiser except everyone in the god damn building.

Lucia had found herself well and truly pinned beneath Rebecca. Unable to squirm free, breathless, and weak. When the larger woman was practically peeled off of her, air came in the form of ragged greedy gasps as the actress slowly rolled over onto her side. She coughed and writhed, each large gulp of air reignited the flames of pain lapping at her back. Through squinted pained eyes she watched the large woman hobbling away with.. was that a crutch? Was that legal? She honestly didn't know. The sluggish flop onto her chest and slow crawl after her opponent were fruitless endeavors but her stubbornness hated watching the amazon escape her so readily.

When Adrian circled back to her, Lucia let out a low growl as she tried to push herself up onto her hands and knees. She had expected taunts and jeers from the brunette, but when she felt the woman lay hands on her she threw an arm wide in a wild but ineffective attempt to bat at her. Was the referee seeing this?!

“Get the hell off of me.” The Wolfen actress murmured in protest, but much like her attempts to shrug off the fresh bullet club member, who seemed wholly incapable of actually stopping the woman from dragging her up and bringing her to the edge of the ring. Her knees hit the LED display hanging from the apron as she was shoved against the ring distorting the promotional image briefly before she was hoisted up and shoved up onto the apron and slightly under the ropes.

Lucia reached for the ropes to try and pull herself beneath them all the way, still unsure why Adrian had helped her break the count. Until she saw the woman bearing down at her, with that grinning face of hers that was begging to be punched. She didn't get long enough to really dwell on it as Adrian brought her elbow down, biting into her skull with a hard impact that snapped her neck back enough that the back of her head bounced off the apron display. A swear before the impact became a garbled groan as the dazed actress was unceremoniously shoved back into the ring.

She lay in an awkward heap of having been propped up into the ring and pushed further, the unnatural pose was enough to call how it happened into question but without any evidence caught by the referee firsthand, Adrian had gotten away with it all. Lucia lay groggy on the mat, staring up at the rafter lights. There was a warmth on her forehead, an itch of something… a thin line of red slowly snaking its way out from behind her hairline as an unseen split in her skin bled deep crimson.
