Investor Overview: In polite society, Masuyo Ai is a prolific real estate developer, one of the biggest restaurant pub operators in Tokyo, and a nascent digital gambling mogul in the wake of Criminal Code Chapter 23's repeal.

In not-so-polite society, on the other hand, Masuyo Ai is the chief Tokyo representative of the Kaitei-gumi, Japan's largest Yakuza Organisation. Traditionally operating in the Kansai region, the group's expansionist policies some 20 years ago saw them making advances onto Kanto, dispatching troops to set up shop in Tokyo and its sister cities. Masuyo Ai walked into far-off Tokyo a lowly grunt, a young bottom-rung soldier hungry for action, and after decades of ladder-climbing, now reigns as the queen of its underground; local rivals quashed or annexed or driven to the fringes, the criminal element consolidated under one great banner, Kabukichō fully under Kaitei-Gumi rule, and the police and Metropolitan Government in her pocket. With the opposition crushed and order forged, the only thing left to do was grow the enterprise.

And begin the transition to legitimacy.

In the wake of the Chapter 23 gambling repeal, Masuyo's masters back in Kansai launched themselves headfirst into the Casino business. Masuyo, on the other hand, had other ideas. While the dinosaurs back home dug into the resorts and big cities for their legalized vice dens, Masuyo instead turned towards the future, launching Kuriputobet, the first legal mobile sports betting operator in the country that focused primarily on sports within Japan: baseball, football, skiing, table tennis, motorsports-

Fighting.

Easier said than done, of course. She needed strong partnerships with key players in the sports industry to gain access to their massive fanbases and the exclusive media assets and content collaboration opportunities said partnerships would provide. When it came down to Pro Wrestling and Martial Arts, it was a no-brainer. She bought a stake in AFW and an especially large stake in its subsidiary Momentum, leveraged her shareholder position into making Kuriputobet its Official Gaming Partner, and, well, that's that. The digital evolution of vice was key to securing the future of the Kaitei-Gumi and, more importantly, her position in it.

Personality: Despite her fearsome reputation, Masuyo's a very amicable, talkative person with a good sense of humor. Years of being in charge has completely weathered away at her social filter: she says what she wants and she doesn't care if she overshares or if its inappropriate. Her management style is oddly casual, she doesn't really care for tradition or stuffy Yakuza ceremonies, and she shuns the archaic trappings of the old days. Results matter more to her than how low you bow your head or how much you suck up. By Yakuza standards, she's a really great, generous boss you don't have to tiptoe around.

But a jovial monster is still a monster. Underneath that friendly exterior is the most successful assassin in Kaitei-Gumi history, and Masuyo approaches business the same way she approaches murder: with surgical precision and no conscience. Even just a few years shy of 40, Masuyo loves a good fight. Entrepreneurship is just a nicotine patch, a proxy drug, for what she actually wants to do: wage war without end. Alas, she's done too good of a job at that and there's nothing left to fight, and so she fills the void with business, gambling, and motherhood. Not in that order. Maybe.

Still, there's some genuine passion in this particular venture beyond the enablement of bloodletting and fleeching of gambling addicts. Masuyo has an affection for martial arts, or at least the display of martial ability, and nothing gets her blood running like, well, blood.
