Mekhit is the youngest of 7 children, and the only female child in a strict, disciplined military household. Her father was a general in the Egyptian army, and instilled a sense of duty and honor into all of his children. Her name, Mekhit, is a variation of the ancient Nubian goddess of war Menhit. Despite the implications of such a warrior-esque name, Mekhit was always discouraged from pursuing activities or hobbies often associated with 'manliness' or 'aggressiveness.' She grew up watching her brother engage in a variety of sports, everything from the more traditional stuff to the more combative, like boxing, marital arts and wrestling. They achieved fame all over the country as a family capable of putting out some very talented fighters.

She was told to seek glory through combat, and through her newfound charisma and courage given to her by the goddess herself, she would either be able to convince, or trample, anyone who stood in the way of this destiny. The next night, emboldened by her dream and newfound purpose in life, she rushed to her family, eager to share the news.

Of course, she was immediately laughed off, and when she continued her adamant claims, she was then put into psychiatric help. Despite all that, her resolve remained as strong as ever, and she refused to deny her claims of a spiritual experience. To this day, many have debated as to whether or not Mekhit had perhaps dipped into the realms of insanity, or if she really had been touched by the goddess. No one could deny that her demeanor had changed completely after that night. She become significantly more mature and stoic, using words and displaying comportment far beyond her age. But to her family, she was still their sweet little girl.

Determined to change that view, Mekhit eventually enrolled in a wrestling academy without her families consent, and began competing in events. She learned remarkably quickly, and soon garnered fame as one of Egypt's most technical female youth wrestlers. Sure enough, words soon reached her fathers ears, and while she fully expected him to unleash an enraged fit on her, she was surprised to see that nothing could have made him more happy. To see his daughter take her own initiative, and achieve what people have been telling her she couldn't for years brought him great joy. She on the other hand was convinced it wasn't her who summed up the courage, but was instead the transferring of such skills from the goddess herself.
