For the first time in a seemingly endless amount of time, Margarita felt good. The pink-haired girl finally had a smile on her face and energy flowed from her body like from a perpetual motion machine. Now it all looked like the first part of her debut match, when she was able to show all of herself. The minutes when she was able to show her skills, adorned with her charisma, were the best moments in the ring, after which someone picked up a brush with black paint, turning the life of the Danish girl into a cycle of failure and shame.

But now that she jumped over her rival and pushed off the ropes, the Sea Star was ready to shed a little tear of happiness. Wrestling was not only a job or a hobby for her. With the help of wrestling, she could express herself, showing the audience her soul. Enthusiasm, unpredictability, energy, skill, unusualness... it was all part of Margarita. And only in the ring she feel that she could show her real self. And she knew that people can only love someone when that person is sincere with others. That is why she never held back and showed the most spectacular techniques that reflect the essence of the pink-haired girl.

Margarita's knees crashed into the brown-haired girl's body, pressing her into the mat. The Sea Star's ears filled with a painful cry from her rival, which made her grimace slightly, biting her lower lip. Be that as it may, but she did not feel pleasure, bringing excessive pain to anyone and in a sense she pitied her rival. It was quite difficult to maintain balance after such a jump, and Margarita's body tilted to the side, because of which she landed on her butt.

She blinked several times as she watched as Amber curled up in a ball and kicked the mat, trying to ease the pain. The pink-haired girl knew very well that this movement was very powerful, because if her arsenal were filled with beautiful but useless techniques, then she would probably be in the place of her rival. The Sea Star pushed off the mat, rising to her feet again to the din of the crowd. She could not resist and waved to the audience, smiling happily. Now it was exactly the way she always wanted. Many believed that two defeats in a row was a common thing for many fighters. Yes, of course, there is some truth in these words. And Margarita would love to look at those who say so, when they are trampled into the mud, when they are exposed to ridicule. Today she decided to say enough to everything that happened to her.

"I invoke the power of the guardian of the future!" said the young girl, raising her arms and crossing them in front of her.

If there was a place for special effects, then the moment the Sea Star lowered her hands, energy similar to green lightning would begin to revolve around her. Only those who watched "the future came yesterday" could understand this reference. But since the hall became much noisier, one could say that there were enough of those who realized that the Danish girl was about to take a big step.

And it really was true as she was about to bend over and grab her opponent's arm. Pulling Amber up, she was going to lift her to her feet. If she had a chance to get back everything she had lost, then she was determined to take that chance. And therefore, being behind Amber's back, Margarita intended to squat down and clasp the waist of her rival. She was going to press her right shoulder against Amber's left thigh and then it would finally become clear why the Sea Star needed the power of the guardian of the future.

"For the galactic alliance of independent systems!" she would have screamed.

The pink-haired girl intended to straighten up to her full height, lifting Amber on her shoulder. Yes, Margarita was not very tall. But she was willing to bet that even her height would be enough for this high-angle belly-to-back suplex to show her desire to become a real star for the audience. Right now, the Sea Star was about to lean back in order to throw her opponent onto the mat from the maximum height the former actress was able to provide.

Amber’s career was still young, but the Inventor considered she had faced her good share of adversity. None of her previous matches had been considered a squash or one sided. There always had been some room to surprises and close calls within her matches, and even if that didn’t get her on the top ranks it was how Amber liked things. She would rather be in close matches against powerful oponents than being squashing small jobbers for the management’s delight. Those principles were paying off as Amber was building a reputation as a devoted wrestler and a hard worker, and she wanted that to remain that way.

But never in her career, not in the more complicated situations, had felt the Invento as defenseless as she was at the moment. It wasn’t only a feeling though, since her body had been pummeled and battered by a rush of effective and high impact strikes that left Amber lying on the mat while curling into a ball, trying to minimize the effect of the pain she was feeling, kicking in desperation against the mat. She had faced some serious challenges all along her career, but that was the first time she wasn’t sure about how she was going to overcome that.

The crowd was getting some more than decent show though, and from the stands came wave after wave of claps and cheers, some aimed at Amber to just get up but a lot of them targeted at Margarita. And she verily deserved every last round of cheers since the pinkette was presenting herself as a proud, energetic and powerful and cheerful kind of wrestler. Amber had no chance up to the moment they were in to fight back, and she was starting to feel the match slipping away because of how focused her rival seemed to be.

In any other circumstances, hearing Margarita quote some of her coolest lines from her movies from so close would have been an incredible experience for Amber who was one to fangirl a lot, but for now she was too busy having a hard time and trying to recover from all the pain she was feeling. Of course having her rival invoking all powers from above to help her on her endeavour meant Amber was in for some trouble, but it wasn’t as if she was in shape to respond or fight back. That was how Amber was reluctantly dragged towards her feet, but that was only the beginning as Margarita primed her up for another high impact movement, one that could end the match. The pinkette wasn’t too big but hell she was strong, and she showed it when she lifted Amber up in order to execute a powerful high angle belly to back suplex! Amber did nothing but squirm a little, but that proved worthless as she got the full impact of the move. That time, she didn’t even scream in pain. The Inventor was feeling exhausted and pained beyond measure, and as soon as her body impacted against the mat it went limp, her vision blurry and all sounds muffled as she was so close to the limit of her consciousness.

Margarita could not help smiling at the moment when she straightened up to her full height, lifting her rival on her shoulder. At that moment, a surprised groan was heard in the hall. Yes, many have already forgotten that the pink-haired girl had a very unusual feature. Considering her size, she had incredible strength. She devoted an unimaginable amount of time to strength training and was able to lift weight far exceeding her own. And now, when she fully lifted Amber into the air, the Sea Star reminded everyone that she is still capable of showing unusual things in this ring.

Leaning back with maximum effort, the former actress was determined to crush her rival's body. And, judging by the deafening clap, she more than succeeded. Amber didn't even cry out at that moment. Letting go of her rival's waist, the Danish girl rolled over on all fours and looked at the face of the American girl. You didn't need to be a doctor to determine what Amber was unconscious or somewhere on the edge. Margarita's heart suddenly began to beat faster.

"This is it... this is it!" she thought.

Now, when Margarita used the power of the guardian of the future, she saw only one possible outcome. The young girl rushed forward, holding out her arms. Right now, she was going to wrap both legs of her rival in the area of her kneecaps. Now the former actress could only think of one thing. Only one thing was important now and she was ready to appeal to all higher powers in order for this thing to become true.

"Let it be my first victory, let it be my first victory, let it be my first victory, please, let it be my first victory..." one and the same thought endlessly sounded in her head at that moment.

The Sea Star was about to roll to the side, pressing her back against her rival's ribcage and lifting her gripped legs. Margarita wanted to press Amber to the mat as securely as possible, applying maximum pressure and complicating any attempts to straighten her legs. After all, she could not afford another defeat. She just couldn't. This shouldn't happen. The Sea Star took a deep breath, trying to concentrate. The referee's girl fell down next to them and, convinced that Amber's shoulders were firmly pressed, slapped the mat for the first time.

"ONE!" she announced and the audience in the audience repeated loudly after her.

One more heavy impact move that was executed on Amber, and the Inventor looked like she was done for. The woman’s body went limp at the very moment she impacted the mat. She didn’t cry in pain though since she was so close to unconsciousness to do so. Instead, the only sound she could emit was a low groan that hinted how little energy she had left in her. It was then, all sprayed on the mat while every sound was muffled and her vision blurry when Amber noticed some more movement within her, but she wasn’t capable of registering what it was at first. A deaf softened sound of a slap and the count of “ONE!” brought her back to reality as she realized Margarita was using that window of oportunity to try and pin her and end the match. It wasn’t as if Amber had energy to move her body an inch, so she just lay there and took the count.

Amber was more aware of herself when the count reached “TWO!!”, but her body was still so heavy it wouldn’t respond to her orders. Her mind though was racing through several thoughts like what would mean to lose. She was a competitive wrestler but found no shame in defeat, knowing really well that she wouldn’t let anyone down by getting defeated, not her friends and not even her dad. If she was feeling hurt was for herself and for that wonderful rival. She had been taken aback by Margarita’s fierce attacks and Amber was only feeling sad because she thought she hadn’t given her all to that woman and to herself. That didn’t matter since the match was so close to an end.

Only she wasn’t ready to accept that. Amber wasn’t going down without giving her best to the match, the crowd and her rival, and if she had to lose she would do it in flying colors! Fire rekindled from the embers of her energy as a surge of willpower coursed her mind and somehow permeated her body with strength that just wasn’t there before. “N-no!” Amber jerked her body with all the strength she could muster in an attempt to get her shoulder up, unsure about being in time to achieve that or even having the momentum to pry Margarita off her, but her shoulder would go up after what it felt like the effort of a lifetime. Still unsure about being in time Amber looked at the referee, who would wave in a denying manner to the pinkette while signalling that the Inventor had actually made it! She broke the count in two! Still relenting from all the damage and pain sustained, Amber would try getting out of harm’s way by rolling aside, trying to regain some of her strength while getting her breathing to a normal pace.

Margarita was never distinguished by a special belief in anything other than humanism. But now she was ready to believe anything, as long as her rival did not break this pin. It would be too loud words, but now the pink-haired girl needed this victory more than anyone else. And so, when she heard the second clap and noise in the hall, she closed her eyes, concentrating all her thoughts on one single desire.

The Sea Star's heart began to beat faster as she realized there was only one second left. At such moments, it seems that time passes very, very slowly. Therefore, the former actress had the opportunity to explore her emotions. She was really excited. The feeling that her life could return to its usual course in a second gave her an unprecedented rush of adrenaline. The Danish girl didn't even notice how her breathing became uneven because of this. And she didn't even notice how she missed the first victory again.

It seemed that the referee's palm had already landed on the mat at the moment when the Danish girl found herself in a sitting position. She had to blink several times in order to realize that she was no longer pressing her opponent to the mat. Swallowing convulsively, the Sea Star looked at the referee's raised hand. Two fingers. Only two fingers. She didn't win. She didn't keep Amber for enough time. Just a split of a second.

“I…” the former actress's thoughts became a little confusing.

The realization that she was unable to keep the American girl after a near-perfect series of attacks was like a rotten burger filling her stomach. The audience was noisy, because for them it was a joy that the match was not over. And now she doubted she was capable of anything better than the combo she had just completed. It was not only spectacular. It was masterful, it was fast, it was powerful. But even that was not enough. And since that was not enough, then how can she win at all?

Margarita turned her head to the side, time began to pass again at its usual pace. And right now, her rival was rolling to the side, trying to create distance between them. The Sea Star shook her head, driving away thoughts and everything else. She pushed off the mat, jumping to her feet. Was she really so unlucky that even in the best case scenario, when she puts in more than one hundred percent, victory will not be available to her? She shook her head again. One unusual girl who could not feel emotion told her that failure does not exist, there are only unlikely events.

Leaving her right leg back, Margarita began to run towards her rival, gaining maximum speed. If her attacks caused any damage to this girl, then now she was at least slowed down. At least Margarita counted on this, hoping that she would have time to make the attack before Amber rises to her feet and takes a fighting stance. The Sea Star was determined to bounce off the mat, leaning forward to ram the American girl's middle section with her signature move, which she named after a fun situation in the first episode of her first TV series, which she starred in. Where is that damn driver?

Amber had taken quite a beating from Margarita in those first minutes of the match. The Inventor was battered and one sided to a point for some moments it looked like she was ready for the count and the loss, and the truth wasn’t that far from that. Every single inch she tried moving her body it would respond in protest and in aching. Each one of her limbs felt heavy and her head like drifting away since she was still so close to unconsciousness. But some fire from withing pushed Amber forwards as she broke the pin and rolled to the side getting some distance with her rival. She had been taken by surprise by Margarita’s proficient and well executed strategy, but now she was going to recover and then fight back.

As Amber pushed with her arms against the mat, slowly trying to get on all fours as a first step in her recovery, she noticed how the crowd was actually rewarding her fight with a round of cheers. She wasn’t sure if all that was only about the match not being done yet or if there were some actual people rooting for her and happy to see that she wasn’t done, but she would decide to believe in the latter, it was paramount for her to get some fuel for her resolution if she was going to survive that situation.

But Amber’s predicament had some silver lining to it, and it all had to do with motivation. Yes, the inventor was battered and heavily punished by her rival to the point she looked so close to the losing consciousness point, but not even then when she was at her lowest and her rival was in a peak of morale and performance was Margarita capable of obtaining the three count with the pin. That fact would have made a dent in the woman’s resolution at the same time as it fueled Amber’s own willpower. That wasn’t a “get out of jail” card though, as Amber realized when she got up about her rival running towards her for what it would be a definitely painful and body shattering ram. The Inventor just couldn’t take that kind of impact at the moment, but her body wasn’t one hundred percent responsive when talking about her reflexes, so her survival instinct took in. She let the gravity help her in the dodge, falling to the mat and rolling over to let Margarita’s momentum turn against her and make her fly over the Inventor. Amber would get up after some rolls, regaining some of her breath. Some more time like that and she would be capable of fighting back again, but she was still in between the wall and the sword.

It was a little weird. On the one hand, Margarita knew that there was nothing surprising in the absence of a quick victory. But on the other hand, the Danish girl was literally shocked that her series of attacks were not enough. Although she didn't have many matches, she could tell that she had never made such a good combination before. Or she was not as strong as she thought she was. Either her rival was much stronger than many of the fighters here. For a moment, the pink-haired girl even wondered if she herself could have broken a pin if she had to go through that much damage. She had better not think about it, now she had to focus on something else.

And that was exactly what she was going to do. Despite the fact that her concentration was not enough to take the victory, she was not going to leave it as it is. The Sea Star tried to put maximum speed into every step as she approached Amber. If her series of attacks was not enough, then her signature attack will definitely put an end to this question. She was sure of it. Her opponent shouldn't have enough reaction to avoid it. It will all be over. Right now. Margarita pushed off the mat with maximum force, making a jump forward.

"Nantekotta i?" sounded in her head.

It was simply impossible. Literally one moment before the collision of Margarita's shoulder with Amber's stomach, her rival collapsed onto the mat. Just like a man lying under a train passing over him. There was no limit to Margarita's surprise, she sincerely could not believe that the American girl could not only react to her attack with such precision, but also turn it all against the Sea Star.

It wasn’t panic, but she didn’t have time to properly group. Margarita threw her hands up in order to cover her face, but she rolled forward like a rolling field. Having put too much speed into this movement, she could just stop, which led to that. that she had hit her head very unsuccessfully several times. She stopped only at the moment when her body buried in the bottom rope.

"Ghhhh..." she moaned, feeling pain and dizziness.

God damn. Was her rival really so skillful as to find the strength for such a maneuver? The former actress shook her head, shaking off the dizziness and thoughts that even after such a successful start, she was left behind. Grabbing the middle rope, the Sea Star began to rise to her feet, her rival doing the same.

"Damn... damn..." thought the girl.

Сan't stop. Сan't stop. Сan't stop. Not after such a good and bright start of the match. Taking a deep breath, the Sea Star rushed forward, trying to get close to Amber as soon as possible. Perhaps the mistake was that she put too much hope into her signature movement. And maybe she should have tried something different. Simpler, but no less dangerous. Margarita intended to try to shift the weight to her left leg and then raise her right leg as quickly as possible, aiming for Amber's head. It might not have been the most difficult move, but she hoped that lightning high kick would help her keep the pace of the match under control.

Amber might have had a good start tp her career, but she was a down to earth kind of woman an thought she still had a long way before she could be fully established as a force to reckon in the AFW. It wasn't as if the Inventor wanted everyone to fear or admire her, she was beyond that. Instead, the only thing she wanted to be remembered about was the exact same thing she learnt from her father. He wasn't the best wrestler in his league, but in every match he would give his all, and if in the end he would fall defeated by a powerful but noble rival he would stand up with a smile on his face and would congratulate the winner while thanking the crowd for its support. Maybe that was something that worked when she was a child and her father was in active and now the times were different, but that was her mindset and she wasn't going to change it now or never.

Those principles applied to that night's match in an excellent way. It would have been so easy for the Inventor to just give up after the beating she was getting, wrap things up and let the loss settle expecting her next match to be easier, but that wasn't her way. Amber thought that would have been a disrespect to her rival's efforts and to herself as a wrestler, and that was why she got strength from where it looked like there wasn't anymore and broke the pin and then avoided a powerful impact.

Avoiding Margarita's signature move was a relief for Amber since most likely getting hit by that move would have meant the end for her. Instead, Amber used all the time she was given by her rival to breathe and try getting some rest, getting as much of her strength back as she could. That was all she could do for the moment until she was capable of fighting back, but in order to get there she needed to survive Margarita's attacks.

Expecting to see what Margarita had in store for her now, Amber noticed how after recovering from her own rushed attack the pinkette looked a little more surprised and flustered. She definitely needed to use that in her favor, and it maybe made Margarita's moves sloppier because when the former actress started balancing her weight Amber read the movement and recognized something she knew. That change in her balance showed how Margarita was going to try some kick at least similar to the one she got at the beginning of the match. Amber decided to act as if that was set in stone and dodge to avoid being kicked, and it paid off when she barely managed to go below that lightning fast leg. Fool me once... Using her momentum, Amber would surround her rival to go at her back and execute a quick and not so exerting suplex, showing Margarita that she could also get some hits!

If just a minute ago Margarita's heart was beating at a breakneck speed because her heart was filled with hope for the first victory in this ring, now her heart was beating fast because she felt like she was starting to lose control of the match. She had no idea how the American girl dodged her spear. Was it luck or was it real skill? One could think about it endlessly, but the former actress did not have that much time.

Therefore, she had no choice but to go on the offensive again. If there was any chance of holding the lead, then she should have taken that chance. Perhaps she should have used her hands and sent some quick punches, however, the pink-haired girl remembered the lessons of Charlotte, one of the few who remained faithful that the Sea Star would succeed. The martial arts master said that sometimes you just need to take a risk, although, of course, not just like that. The risk must be justified in some way. And the former actress couldn't justify the risk with anything more meaningful than returning to her normal life. For this, she was willing to take the risk.

And, accepting this risk, she put speed and strength into a kick that sent to Amber's head. It was a very simple kick, but it was these kicks that were the fastest. Therefore, the Sea Star decided that this time she should not try to invent something unusual. One simple but very quick kick to the head. That's all she needed in order to regain control of the match.

A shiver ran down Margarita's spine. Her leg went over the head of the American girl. She had enough reaction to see Amber walk around her from the side. Although the Sea Star was incredibly fast, she had one small problem. Her foot didn’t land, making it impossible to dodge. By the time her foot landed on the mat, her opponent's arms were already wrapped around her waist.

Familiar feeling. Too familiar. She felt it two times already, entering this ring. In a sense, it was déjà vu. In each of her matches, she started very dynamically. And then, when she lost the advantage, she was beaten until she no longer had the strength to resist. Will it end the same this time? Margarita clenched her fists in order to send a few elbows to the ribs of her rival. She couldn't let this happen. Just not today. But Amber had already begun to lift her body. It was too late.

“No… no… no no no…” was repeating in the head of the former actress.

It was too late.

"Ggggaaaahhh!!" she screamed at the moment of the collision.

First there was pain. The back of the head and upper back crashed hard into the mat, which caused a flash in front of Margarita's eyes. A sharp pain shot through her body, but that was only the beginning. The American girl did not hold her, so the impulse transmitted to Margarita continued its work. The young girl rolled head over heels on the mat, stopping only a few meters later.

"Damn... get up... Margarita, get up, get up!" mentally she repeated to herself through dizziness.

While this was the first real damage she took in the match, given the circumstances, it wasn't easy to deal with. Shaking her head to chase away the haze, the pink-haired girl found herself near the ropes again. The Sea Star grabbed the middle rope, trying to get to her feet. Continuing to lie like a bag of rags was not a good idea and she should have tried to get up before her rival.

Amber had taken a lot in such a short space of time. She still had some fight within herself and she showed that by breaking the pin and barely escaping Margarita’s spear, but to fully materialize her comeback or at least start fighting back there was something she needed and she hadn’t got yet: some time to recover from the beating she was taking just seconds ago. That was the reason why Amber went for a German suplex but didn’t bridge her rival or attempted a pin. She was still too weak and the pinkette was on a roll. With that kind of move what the Inventor was trying was to buy some time to breathe, regain some of her strength and devise a good strategy. Also, it looked like that move also made a dent in Margarita’s morale. The pinkette was on the path to victory, but there might be something else on her mind when a simple setback as Amber escaping a pin could make the frustration so evident just by looking at her face.

Amber was now in some kind of crossroad: she was happy about the tables turning at least a little, but she didn’t want Margarita getting frustrated about it. The Inventor’s main flaw was that she thought about the world and its people in a very idealistic way, so close to utter naiveté. For her, the chance to face someone she admires as Margarita in combat was a day to remember despite the outcome, and only having a cool fight in which both wrestlers gave their all would serve her. Seeing her rival feeling down about something would put a stain on that night’s match, and maybe that was something selfish to think but Amber didn’t want that. It was a very simplistic way of thinking, but she was sure that if she had her fun giving her all, her rivals would also do that.

“Come on, Margarita! We are only done when one of us is defeated!” Amber said to her rival as she got on her feet way faster than Margarita, wanting her rival to look up to the challenge. The Inventor was in a good streak so she needed to capitalize on that. Grabbing Margarita’s arm before she could get up, she sent the woman against the ropes with an Irish whip with the intentions of gaining momentum to get the pinkette with a clothesline when she came back.
