Personality: Aloof and perpetually annoyed by human interaction, you won’t find Ami hanging around any social gatherings. Ami was always alone.

There was just something about people that annoyed her to no end. They were needy, incessant, filthy, and just too exhausting to bother with on a daily basis. The only friends she needed were the ones inside of her head. The ones that spoke to her in empty rooms, and revealed to her the world as it truly was.

The Whispers were always there.

Ami first heard them as a child. Cradled in her mother’s arm, she saw shadows shift in the corner of the room, against the light of the window curtains. They spoke to her alone at the playground and beckoned her from her bedroom at night. Trying to explain the feeling to others did little good. They always found some excuse to explain away that which they could not understand. “Imaginary friends,” her mother said. “Too much television,” her father said. “Freak,” the other children called her.

In a fervent devotion to understand both herself and the other side, Ami piled her bedroom shelves high with texts and volumes dedicated on the occult. Initially she sought a remedy for her condition; by understanding the Whispers, perhaps she could find a way to banish them, or at the very least dull their influence. It became her fixation for years. But the further she read, Ami came to an entirely different understanding of her affliction. She hadn’t been cursed, she’d been gifted.

Wrestling proved to be an effective way of exercising her inner thoughts; to calm the mind and discipline the body. Nothing could compare to the rush of life and overwhelming energy Ami felt between the ropes. Beyond that, she felt herself growing stronger the more she invested her life and soul into the action of dominating another, as if compelled by some other worldly force. She offered her battles to the spirits. With every victory she appeased the Whispers and deepened her connection to their realm. And so she sought greater victories and greater challenges. That, in turn, led her to the Wrestle Angels.

Pairing up with Succubus Manabe occurred more by accident than anything else. The two of them shared the right height, build, and cutesy looks to be paired together for a tag team match. Normally, she would have scoffed at the idea of someone like Manabe, manipulating the weak minds of simple folk with a sacrilegious outfit and a bunch of exposed skin. However, after a thoroughly satisfying victory at the succubus’ side, the Magician slowly changed her tune. Manabe’s ambition was respectable and her style of wrestling complimented her own rather well, even if she did find it less than becoming. So long as Ami could use them for her sacrifices, she found little to complain about.

After Wrestle Angels collapsed, Ami pondered simply finding refuge in other promotions taking advantage of the ensuing power vacuum. Manabe contacted her with an idea much the same regarding a well-established league based in Tokyo.
