Strategy:  Hit and run tactics is her way to go. Also, using her legs’ impressive strength to hit hard before repositioning. Being from a flying race, she uses gravity and momentum to her advantage.

- Deadly Talon: A bycicle kick aimed to her rival’s face that wouls send her rival to the mat, down for the count.

- Light bones: Harpies are very light creatures, since they are a flying species. That makes them not suitable for receiving huge impacts, and that’s why she has to take care of her body and hit and run. That’s the reason Unleashed matches are out of the question for her.

- Perfectly balanced: Used to balance themselves in flight, the harpies have an overdeveloped sense of balance that makes them always land on their legs. This balance can be messed with if their enemy messes with their ears though.

- Hawkeye: Harpies need a very strong eyesight to deal with their prey or possible agressors, so their sight is very good, even in dark.

- Overdeveloped legs: Her species is well known for their legs. Their bodies are light and frail, but their legs are quite powerful and strong. That is why they prefer using leg and talon attacks against their prey or rivals. They can also jump great distances easily.

 

Personality:  For a member (or former member) of a silent, secretive race of solemn and ruthless warriors, Ayggil is quite amicable. Of course she isn’t a full ball of sugar, but keeping in mind that the first reaction of her people against a traveller would be a lance through their chest, it is quite surprising having Ayggil engaging in conversations with foreigners, or at least it was until she abandoned her tribe.

Ayggil is a curious one, likes wandering around the world following her instincts and doing as she pleases while discovering the wonders of nature and its people. Of course she isn’t foolish or naive and knows how to take good care of herself, but if she has a non violent, even friendly solution to conflicts, she at least tries it. In the end, concerning certain topics like mating or society structure her instincts as a harpy take over and rule her attitude. Given the warrior-like aspect of her culture, she is competitive and wants to test her might against rivals, hence her presence in fighting tournaments.

Background: 
Up in the mountains, in the deep forests that are so inhospitable to most civilized species, lives the harpy tribe. This society of warrior-hunters is deeply rooted in secrecy and tradition, and the most welcoming thing intruders receive in their lands is an arrow or a lance to the chest. They are ruthless, stone cold with outsiders and severe in their teachings to their younglings. In that kind of society was Ayggil born and raised. Daughter of one of the clan matriarchs, lots of things were expected from her, and she was fulfilling everyone expectations as she grew to be a cunning huntress and a fierce warrior. Her purple feathered wings were the envy of her coeval.

Everything turned upside down when she was 58 years old. Still a teenager to her people, she was given great honor when she was chosen to lead a hunting party in search for some harpies who had gone missing. To their surprise, Aygill and her partners found the bloody corpses of their sisters lying close to two deadly injured bear-people. A bear cub was curled below its mother’s corpse, and the harpies demanded its blood, but Aygill judged that justice was done the moment the bears who took their people’s lives were dead. A cub wasn’t an enemy nor a threat, so Aygill let them go against the will of all her party. An act of mercy that would change her life forever.

When they returned to their tribe with the grim news, her hunting party turned on her. They accused her of dishonoring the tribe and the dead by letting an enemy go, and nothing Aygill could make the matriarchs change their mind. Deemed a traitor to their people, Aygill suffered a fate worse than death for the harpies. Her wings were ripped from her back to be burnt, and she was cast out in what was a virtual sentence to die in the mountains.

But death wasn’t Aygill’s fate. Somehow, the young harpy managed to hide and survive in the mountains as her wounds healed. When she was feeling stronger she was determined not to die the way her former people wanted for her. That was why she decided to infiltrate the tribe and recover her broken wings before they were burnt, it would be the last act of rebellion against the people who turned their backs on her.

Years have passed since that, and cloaked in a wonderful purple feathered cape made with what was left of her feathers, Aygill has travelled around the world, meeting people and reaching adulthood to her people’s aging, but in a way different way that was intended for her. She lives now as a wanderer, walking the land instead of flying over it and resorting to any decent job she could get in order to live. Seeing a wingless harpy isn’t a common thing, so whenever she was noticed good deals as a hunter were struck. At least, she was living life her way, following her principles to the very end.

Trivia: 
- Cook it, please: Harpies eat their food raw, but since she joined civilization Aygill became quite used to regular food, to the point she loves a good meal. She is a terrible cook, though.

- Tree person: if she can choose, she would spend the days close to the nature. She feels a little more out of place in big cities, and even if crowds are exciting, she can get tired of them quickly.

- The social life: having been raised in a secretive society, she likes hearing everyone talk about their life or their people, and that is why she could be seen getting close to campfires in the wild, offering fresh hunt in exchange of a place to rest and a good story.
