Rise of Rivals: Ayane Tokegawa vs Kimiko Danzaki

Ayane had been waiting for this for a long time... Not because she actually knew who she was fighting personally, but it was because she had a reputation to polish. Her last defeat at another league ended her career there swifter than it had begun and now she had something to prove: That she was GREAT at what she did! To the crowd, to her opponents, to anyone that could pay attention, Ayane was going to step into that ring and come out looking GREAT. She had the drive, the energy and the strength to do it!

SHE WOULD BE A WINNER!

...At least, this is what she said to herself as she looked into the mirror backstage. She smiled smugly as she tied her bandana around her head, her dark eyes shimmering with excitement as she envisioned the fight ahead. She wasn't expecting anything easy... after all, who really did when it came to fights? People really never made it easy on each other in a brawl, no matter the skill-level... but what Ayane was truly looking forward to as a fight that would make her sweat. Having come out of a school where brawls were everywhere and everyone was fighting everyone else, Ayane had become the TOP DOG and she sought to elevate herself even HIGHER beyond that! In the eyes of herself, the eyes of the people and if she could, the eyes of her opponents! She was gonna stand above them ALL and be the best...

And NOBODY was gonna say otherwise!

"Heh! Look out, world!" Ayane smirked, holding her gloved fist up to her reflection! "Your best fighter has arrived!"

The peppy, bouncing beat of Ayane's music ROCKED out over the crowd, the cute little dragon stepping out to greet the cheers befitting a woman such as her, young and full of potential, RAISING HER HANDS high in the signature "peace" sign as she stood before it all! AH, she could practically SMELL the praise... and she hadn't even done ANYTHING yet... A wide smile spread across Ayane's lips as she walked down the ramp, waving to all who cheered her, the ego within beginning to swell nicely as it gorged on the attention.

"Oh, this is gonna be great..." She muttered, SLAMMING her fist into her palm as she looked out in the direction of her opponent's entrance! "Lets get it on!"

It was hard to imagine she got paid to do something that outside of this building would get her in serious trouble. It wasn't like Kimiko would just beat up random strangers in the street or anything, that would be pretty rude, but she was not opposed to trying to challenge strong looking people to a bout of fisticuffs. She would see things like that all the time in the movies, swordsman challenging people to honorable combat for a duel or something… if only there existed a recent day version of that she would be set.

As it was, this was the closest thing to that with the added benefit of getting paid, relatively well too. Sure, it was technically wrestling and sure, she didn't really know anything about wrestling before signing a contract. It hadn't been hard to study up. You beat up someone until they quit, can't get back up, or you lay on top of them for a few seconds. She didn't really get the point of the last one, but it seemed fun enough so the brunette was more than happy to give it a go. How hard could it be?

She hadn't gone all out on her ring gear like some other people tended to. Most of her stuff was scrounged up parts from stuff she had in high school, save for the body suit. It all still fit her comfortably with the added versatility of easy on and off for getting ready. Kimiko was ready though, positively brimming with excitement to her first foray into the ring. Hopefully she was put up against someone tough.

Stepping out past the curtain, Kimiko squinted as the bright arena lights hit her. She raised a hand up to shield her face until her eyes adjusted, giving her an opportunity to look at just how fast the audience here was. She blinked in surprise, caught off guard by the sheer number of people that had come to watch her and other women of Friction duke it out. Maybe had she actually looked into AFW a bit before signing with them blindly she would have known. As it was, this was certainly a fun surprise she could get behind.

With a big dumb grin on, she made her way down the ramp, casually waving to people in the crowd and saying hello to them as if this was a far smaller and personal venue. When she reached the ring, Kimiko eyed it appraisingly. She saw the stairs at the corner… was she supposed to use those? With a shrug, she just slipped in under the bottom ropes and popped herself up, taking a moment to pat off her attire. It wasn't until she glanced around the ring that she even noticed Ayane who had clearly been there the whole time. She was pretty sure that this woman was who she'd be fighting since the lady in stripes was the rule keeper person.

Similar build, a bit shorter, some really weird choice of pants… she liked her gloves though. Blue was always a good choice. She came across as awkwardly staring for a long moment, taking Ayane in, appraising her as if she were able to tell how strong she would be at a glance. Once she was done though she straightened out and approached with a wide smile.

"Hey-o, I'm Kimiko." She put her hands on her hips, rocking slightly on her boot heels. "You look pretty scrappy. Hopefully we'll have a fun fight." She dripped with genuine excitement at the prospect of slugging it out with Ayane, no insults or boasting. She was just pleased as punch to be here.

Ah! And there she was, her opponent... And she was a mixed bag for sure! The way she dressed made Kimiko look like she came right out of a fighting game, her attire a mix of both practical and stylish attire, a combination of street and dojo-style clothing. She was taller than Ayane, alright by a GOOD half-foot, her frame seeming to match her own pretty well, indicating that she might even fight the same! What REALLY gave her an idea of who she was, though, was this BIG, goofy smile that spread across her face, the kind of grin one could only get after having a cartoonishly large anvil drop on one's head. Still... the smile was really kinda contagious, Ayane smiling right back at her... though hers had a much sharper competitive edge. Despite being smaller and younger, Ayane held herself with much more strength and overt pride than her opponent certainly did, Kimiko simply bounding about in place once she had entered the battle-field, content just to be here it seemed!

A shallow vision... That level of motivation would work against her here, she was sure!

"Heya! I'm Ayane! YOU better listen, Kimiko, and listen good!" The short, bandanna'd scrapper pointed at her foe, her sharp grin spreading across her face!

"I'm not gonna hold back on you just because you're... like... you! I'm gonna show everyone here today that I'm the better fighter so don't be surprised when I lay you out quick!" Ayane let out a quick, BOISTEROUS laugh, the exaggeration of which only being a tiny part of it's over-all gusto!

"That being said..." She muttered, bringing back her hand and curling it into a fist! "You look pretty tough yourself so I expect to have FUN! Don't disappoint me, ya hear!?"

With her piece being said, Ayane shifted into her combat stance, crouching low with one hand held out before her, the other being held near her head, curled into a fist!

Kimiko blinked as Ayane tired herself up. If one thing was for sure it was that her opponent was very loud. At the request for her to listen, she gave a double nod of acknowledgement, leaning in a bit closer to give the other girl her undivided attention.

She gave a slightly awkward knot of her brow finding it curious Ayane had to mention she wouldn't be dialing back her performance. That was good though, how were they supposed to fight if one of them was holding back? That seemed pretty silly. When the other woman claimed to be the better fighter, Kimiko pursed her lips together in a silent "Oooo", her piqued interest clearly visible.

"You got it!" Kimiko flashed her opponent a wide grin and a thumbs up, seemingly undetected by the other girls claims. She didn't seem to have anything to add, either unconcerned with nothing herself up or just eager to get down to business. She was loving this intensity Ayane was bringing to the table. The looks, the attitude, she seemed real serious about the whole fight. That was a good sign.

Kimiko drifted back into her own fighting style, looser and more undefined than her opponent. She didn't clench up her fish or lock up muscles, just shifted her feet a bit and raised her arms… it hardly looked prepared for battle. When the bell rang, she even glanced away from Ayane towards the timekeepers area, craning her neck slightly to see where the person who had hit the thing was.

DING!

Instant aggression. That was Ayane's motto. The smaller girl charged RIGHT at Kimiko, her fists raised near her face to protect it from any potential attacks! The excitement was clear in the smaller girl's eyes, the desire to fight STRONG opponents and defeat them posthaste! If she could run down a girl like this... who ELSE could she dominate in a jiffy? The possibilities were endless, the rewards incalculable, her potential unlimited... And it all started here!

"YAH!' Ayane cried, throwing a HARSH punch right up into Kimiko's jaw, a straight aimed to crack right across the taller woman's cheek! She wouldn't stop there, however, her hands zipping back and forth like a hailstorm, peppering her opponent with punches! Stomach, rips, jaw, cheek, Her punches blitzed across her foe lightly, feeling her out! Ayane was careful to keep her pace consistent, her eyes focused on the moment of her foe lest she find herself being hammered right back! After all, she didn't want to be steam-rolled in response to her steam-rolling! That'd just be stupid and humiliating!

"HIYAH!" Ayane shouted, mixing kicks now into the mix! Rapid attacks now coming from above and below, keeping all parts of her opponent moving! Her kicks aimed at Kimiko's legs, specifically her hips, sides and thighs, aiming to break her mobility! Her punches, however, would keep high, hammering on that head with an INTENSE focus, her punches like spears, thrusting STRAIGHT into that smiling, goofy face!

...However, as her savage attack waged on, it was clear that Ayane was more comfortable with punches than she was with kicks, throwing them quicker and more often, focusing far more above than below! With a mighty cry, Ayane would SHOOT out her foot, aiming to SLAM it into Kimiko's gut and send her stumbling back, looking for any indication that she had taken control!

At the sound of Shane's tell she turned her focus back to the other girl, just in time to get a fist buried in her face. Her head snapped back with the heavy blow, caught by complete surprise. She stumbled, regaining her footing, about to say something or rub at her freshly reddened cheek but her opponent was coming at her still. Kimiko braced herself as knuckles slapped and scraped against her makeshift defensive wall, not her normal choice of options but having little else presented to her.

Stray strikes slipped past her high guard, catching her in the side, the leg, a few àlmost hitting her head even with her arms up. She promptly retreated, dipping back and away, swaying blindly to make herself a harder target which seemed to be working for the most part… that was until she backed into the ropes. This wasn't the setting she was accustomed to so when she ran out of room it was a shocker.

"Kuh!" Kimiko's eyes shot wide when Ayane boots her square in the guts, making her stomach churn in protest to the sudden trauma. With nowhere left to go, the gears in her mind went into overdrive to figure out a solution.

In what may have been considered a foolish move, Kimiko drop her guard, throwing her arms back over the top rope, looking as if she had just nearly collapsed. Her back strained as her legs drew up, fucking her knees to her chest. With Ayane so close, she pushed her boots out, trying to brace them against the woman's body to keep her at bay like an adult holding a child back at arm's length. With a hard thrust, she kicked out with a heavy grunt to attempt to shove the other woman away from her as hard as she could to buy some room to breath.

"Come ON! Pay attention!" Ayane whined as Kimiko was too busy looking around to defend herself from the initial assault! Ayane's fist struck GOLD right at the start, cracking across her opponent's jaw with STUNNING force! It seemed that attack had gotten her attention, however, the rapid flurry of blows now being met with the resistance of a guard! The small, spunky firebrand that was Ayane attacked relentlessly, constantly stepping in and pushing her opposite back, her fists grazing her arms or striking them dead on, keeping up a consistent and even pressure!

And it was rewarded... fore her kick landed SQUARE into Kimiko's stomach! A dead on strike, just like the first one, SLAMMING her into the ropes and leaving her completely vulnerable! Oh, the smile on Ayane's face was REAL now! It practically split her face in two, so wide did it spread! Look at her! Already, she had pushed a bigger, taller girl ALL THE WAY to the ropes, a place that practically SPELLED defeat for the people who fought within it! She was already gonna win! Wow... Even she was surprised!

"NOW FOR THE FINISHING.... GAH!"

Suddenly, boots SLAMMED into her own chest, sending Ayane stumbling back, tripping over her own feet and falling HARD on her butt! Blinking rapidly, she spotted Kimiko retracting her legs, legs she had used to practically DONKEY-KICK her away! Okay... Maybe she had some fight in her after all... Good... GOOD... It was too EASY before... Besides, it wasn't like anything had changed! It just meant this fight was gonna be more FUN!

"There... That's more like it..." Ayane muttered, climbing back to her feet as she dusted off her shirt where she was struck. "Ready to take me seriously NOW?"

Under Ayane's barriage, she wasn't sure if she had missed some clue or exchange. The girl was barking at her to focus, but on what? I was hard to do much of anything past shell up and weather the storm of blows coming her way. When she finally managed to push the other girl back, she slumped against the ropes, dangling by her strung up arms. Kimiko drew in a deep breath, puffing up her cheeks and blew it out in a long exhale through pursed lips. That had been a trip.

The brunette giggled softly, half at her obvious blunder of letting her guard down to begin with and half because Ayane was a bit of a spitfire. She liked that a lot… though out of the context of her mind, laughing at a downed opponent didn't exactly enamour them to you. "Whoops."

She continued to bob on the ropes, unhooking one arm to rub at her cheek with the back of her hand. She hissed at the soreness of the raw cheek as she nursed it gently. While many might take the opening punch as cheap, she wasn't too bothered. She had left an opening and Ayane seized it. She can't say she would have done the same were the positions switched but that was fine.

She planted her feet on the canvas, awkwardly reverse limboing off the ropes. She took a moment to stretch out her back, wincing at the strain of her stomach when she bent against the aching muscles. Ouch, that was smarts. She blinked across the way at Ayane yelling at her, again. Reaching up she stuck q pinky I her own ear, wiggling it around to make a show of cleaning it out before dropping her hands.

"I'm right here, you know you don't have to shout, right?" Kimiko tilted her head, the question was very genuine coming from her where from someone else it might be perceived as taking a verbal jab. The brunette brought her fists together lightly, tapping her knuckles against one another before slipping back into her earlier stance. "I was always taking you seriously. Just got a bit distracted, never fought in front of a bajillion people before." With two fingers she motioned at Ayane, curling them towards herself in the universal gesture of "bring it".

Ayane found herself somewhat confused that, for all the things this girl could've complained about... she chose to focus on the volume of her VOICE!? It wasn't like she woulda cared had it been anything else... Like... Hitting her right at the start when she was looking around like an airhead instead of focusing her attention on what MATTERED... or the utter savagery of attacks! EVERYONE just loved to complain about those things! But Nnot this time. Kimiko... She was offput... but Ayane's yelling...?

...What a weirdo! And if that wasn't weird enough, she just started picking her ears like... right in front of her! Like... She was making a point and whatever but... GEEZ! GROSS! Suffice it to say, all this weirdness was starting to throw Ayane off! It was so... care-free, like any level of seriousness or intense motivation was completely absent in this woman! For someone such as her that took the accumulation of status and strength SUPER seriously... well... The expression on Ayane's face said it all... as if she couldn't tell if Kimiko was a human or not!

Ayane blinked as Kimiko remarked how she'd never underestimated her at all... It was just that these settings were unfamiliar to her! After all, she'd never actually fought in front of a crowd before!

...What... She was joking right...? No tournaments or street-brawls or nothing...? Nobody has ever just walked by, drawing a buncha people to watch her beat up some schmuck...? Did she train in a vacuum or something!? Weird, weird, WEIRD! She was a weird woman!

"W-well... Even if that's true..." Ayane responded, shaking her head quickly as if to brush off her confusion! "...I'm still not holding back on you! Round two! Lets do it for real this time!" She payed no mind to the woman's discomfort with her 'shouting', far too excited to get this fight going again! It was like trying to put the pin back in a grenade... FUTILE! FUTILE! FUTILE! With both girls apparently ready this time, Ayane RUSHED right back in like before, bringing her arm around in a HIGH-arch hook towards the taller woman's jaw, hoping to only add to the soreness she had afflicted before! She would then quickly step to the side, lifting her leg around in a STRONG knee-strike into Kimiko's side, SLAMMING it into her ribs in an effort to knock the wind out of her!

"I sure hope not. It won't be very fun to beat you if you stopped doing your best." Kimiko blinked a few times at Ayane's mention of not limiting herself. She wasn't sure why the other girl would have ever done that. Nor did she understand why apparently the first wave of attacks that were thrown her way didn't seem to count as being real. Wrestling was weird, all these apparent rules she knew nothing about… maybe she should study up at some point in the near future.

The confusion left her face for a smile as Ayane charged for her again, this time she was fully focused on the movements of the girl in front of her. When she came in with another repeat haymaker, the brunette took a tempered step back, leaning away from.the blow juuuuust enough it breezed right past the tip of her nose. "Whoa, real close!"

When Ayane darted to her side, she circled with her, making sure they remained head on. Kimiko brought her hands down, one palm over the other, to intercept the knee as it came her way. It hit with a solid smack against her hands before it was able to build up its full force. Despite the sting her her hands, she shoved the limb away, taking this opportunity to counter attack when Ayane might be off balance with one leg off the ground.

With a small hop backwards Kimiko snapped up one of her legs, than the other right after it an upwards bicycle kick, trying to catch Ayane with a hard one-two combo right beneath the chin. If she managed to land the strikes the hope was to leave her opponent reeling. Landing back on her feet she took two quick steps in to close the distance. Putting her open hands together wrist to wrist she thrust out her arms to try and hammer the other woman's chest with a double palm strike square to her center mass with the intention of knocking her back again.
