Finally, with no way to free herself, the pain became too much, and Sakura called out.

"Stop, it hurts, stop, stop!" she gasped, desperately, wanting the agony to end.

Sakura knew that shouting out "stop" would reset the fight and give her another opportunity. However, in her pain, she hadn't considered that the referee might count her statement as using all three of her "time-outs".

It had all been going so well, too. Rose was enjoying the domination, truly pouring it onto Sakura, having a good time with everything, when the woman had to go and remember the stipulations of the match. ‘Stop’. That single word was enough to mess up all her momentum, and she took a step back as Thorn got in between them and signaled for the pause - only things weren’t quite as simple as that, were they?

”Well, well.” Rose folded her arms and stepped back, head canted to the side as a thin smile parted her lips. ”I count three ‘stops’, there. Don’t you, Thorn?”

She’d thought - expected - her teammate to be on the same page, but she couldn’t help but notice the slight look of indecisiveness in those bigs eyes, her brow furrowed in deep thought. ”Yeah. Yeah, she did. But...” Thorn looked between the two of them. ”Gonna say it’s just one stop.”

Rose clicked her teeth and put a hand on her hips. ”Excuse me?”

”The rules are grey here - they say you both get three stops. She can’t use them all up at once, right?” She shrugged and stepped back, opening the space between them. ”Counting it as just one. In the spirit of sportsmanship. This time.” She flashed a predatory glare towards Sakura. ”That being said, you mess it up again…”

She let that sentence finish itself in Sakura’s mind, as Rose had a long haggard sigh. She supposed it was a minor inconvenience - she’d gotten a stop out of Sakura once, she could do it two more times.

Cracking her knuckles, she moved in and reached down, looking to grab Sakura by the hair and haul her to feet, whether she wanted to stand or not. Especially if not.

Sakura gasped for air as Rose stepped back, her chest still aching from the heel that had been cruelly pressed into it. However, on hearing Rose's words, Sakura realised her mistake, and a look of horror began to appear on her face. She hadn't considered the possibility that each use of the word "stop" might be counted seperately and, whilst Rose's claim was a little questionable, Sakura knew full well that the referee would surely take her partner's side in this argument, stripping Sakura of her three chances in one fell swoop.

As such, Sakura was surprised and delighted when her opponent's assertion was denied by the referee, in an act of fairness and charity that was clearly unexpected, not only by Sakura, but also by her opponent. Sakura smiled despite the pain she was still in as Rose complained at her partner, clearly not impressed by the ruling. Even the threatening tone of Thorn's comment didn't worry Sakura, she would just have to make sure she showed more control if she was forced to submit like that again, and the referee was already showing a far greater sense of fair play and sportsmanship than she had expected from Rose's partner.

Sakura knew that she would soon have to get to her feet and head to her corner, but she saw no reason to rush things, given that she had been on the receiving end of more than her fair share of abuse during the fight so far.  However, Rose saw fit to make the decision for her, grabbing hold of her hair and attempting to drag her to the floor, a move that was surely against the rules of the contest. Having not expected her opponent to attack her just yet, Sakura was completely unprepared for it, and made no effort to defend herself, instead doing her best to gain her footing and return to her feet. She did, however, issue a complaint.

"Oww, stop that!" she said. "We...."

Oh no, Sakura thought, suddenly realising what she'd just said.

"N..no, we haven't restarted yet, I was just telling her to stop cheating! Surely that shouldn't count", Sakura said, desperately, trying to convince the referee that it would be unfair to penalise her for objecting to Rose prematurely restarting the match.

Once that discussion was done, and Rose had released her grip on Sakura's hair, the girl would return to her corner at a slow pace, before taking up a defensive stance once more and moving back towards the centre of the ring, ready for the fight to restart.
