Ashley Evans vs. Carmen Rodriguez - Red All Over

The crowd seemed to jump back all at once when Carmen did her suplex, and their surprise was understandable. While Carmen had grown more into a true wrestler since she came to the AFW, vestiges of her boxing career remained, and she never seemed to shake them. She could use moves like suplexes, sure, but she tended to keep them basic, resorting to the standard, tried-and-true techniques. A barebones approach, but one that worked.

The exploder suplex, however, showed that her repertoire of moves was, perhaps, deeper than most would give her credit for, the sort of move one would’ve expected from a more seasoned veteran of the squared circle. And furthering that notion, Carmen was quick to follow up.

She made her way up quick, popping to her feet and turning to see her opponent. Upside down, looking dazed, wide open. Something she could easily take advantage of.

Carmen took a step back, gained some space, sized up her opponent, then took off in a full run towards her, charging hard. When she was close enough, she leaped up, tucked her legs in, and shot them at her prone opponent, hitting her square in the chest.

Ashley was slow to recover as she remained in this upside down position. Soon her eyes went wide, though, as she caught sight of her opponent charging forward. ”Maybe.” She grunted and planted one foot on the floor, then another, pushing up to her feet and forcing Ashley to rise with her, keeping her head secure the entire time. ”But this is new.”

As soon as they were standing, Carmen jerked backwards and pulled Ashley’s skull along for the ride, attempting to slam her head into the mat with a reverse DDT.

Ashley could tell she'd ticked Carmen off. However, she wasn't too sure what the woman was planning next. Clearly she was setting something up, but without knowing what that thing was, Ashley had a hard time thinking up a counter. In a normal match, Carmen would’ve gone for a pinfall, here and now.

But this wasn’t a normal match with normal rules, was it? It was special. Had special conditions. And on that note…

Deciding to switch it up, Carmen let go of the hold and moved around Ashley’s faltering body, moving to straddle her waist. She leaned forward, pressing her arm against her opponent’s throat and leaning down to add on the pressure, looking to start a slow choke.
