Isa Armstrong vs Roxy Ashworthy - Sink or Swim (Probably Sink)

It was mere moments until showtime. And Isa Armstrong was…

Well, she’d had butterflies in her tummy before her debut match. Compared to those, however, these were absolute monsters.

After all, for her first match, she’d been up against somebody she’d thought was a fellow rookie (oops) and had been more than a little irked by the stipulations she’d had to deal with.

This time? It was a straight match, which was good. On the less positive side of the spectrum, she was up against Roxy Ashworthy.

Aka Roxy the Conqueror. And even if she knew nothing else about the woman, Isa probably wouldn’t have been all that thrilled to take on anyone calling themselves ‘the Conqueror’. It wasn’t the sort of name that inspired warm, fuzzy feelings when it came to being in the ring with the owner.

Unfortunately, she’d made the mistake of looking up some of the other wrestler’s work. That… had been educational in all sorts of potentially painful ways.

That said, she was here, she was stuck with the match and… well, she had a chance, right? Maybe not the best of chances but it was something?

Perhaps fortunately at that point, her music kicked into gear and one of the workers backstage gently but sympathetically nudged her towards the curtain as “I Burn” blared out of the speakers.

Time to go.

If Isa’s dance to the ring was less… enthusiastic than usual, the fans either didn’t notice or were too kind to say so, cheering the Romani girl with their usual verve as she made her way down the ramp and propelled herself under the ropes before popping back to her feet with a twisting spin straight out of a Capoeira performance.

For her latest match in AFW, the newcomer wore her usual black leotard with gold trim, matched by her black thigh-high foot supports. Waiting in her corner, she tugged on them nervously, waving to the fans and stretching as she waited for her opponent to arrive.

She wasn’t naïve enough to believe that this was all going to end well but this was the life she’d chosen. And, if she was destined to lose here, she was at the least going to make sure that her opponent knew she’d been in a fight.

That was the least she could do.

Roxy was in for another match tonight, from what she had been told it was against a woman named Isabel Armstrong, she hadn't really heard anything about her before but the case usually was that unless she had managed to catch one of their matches with the corner of her eyes while working out.

Not one who actively scoped out the competition, Roxy more or less cruised by in life and in her wrestling career so far. It didn't take long after she had heard the theme of her opponent die down a little that the green haired babes music hit the scene.

The sound of breaking glass hit the scene first and then the heavy beat of the music as Roxy stepped out onto the ramp. The crowd gave of a mixed reaction of mostly jeers, as she started to make her way down the ramp. Walking confidently towards the the ring. She would slip in under the ropes and get up to her feet as she would walk around the ring a little. She placed her right hand on her hip and cocked her hip to the side. Shaking her head a little as she would look over at Isabela.

The woman was curvy and seemed of decent size...would be so fun to conquer her. Walking right up towards Isabela with not a single hint of fear, Roxy would aim to take a hold of the woman's chin and cup it, raising her head a bit and then turning her head from left to right, she would then release it and take a step back.  "Hmmm..." Roxy hummed to herself as she would look at at her opponent.

It was probably a good thing that Isa wasn’t given too much time to think things over, she decided, as her opponent’s music replaced her own on the speakers. Just a few moments to gather her thoughts, make sure she was properly warmed up and decide whether she was going to leave her favourite dress to Bela in her will or not.

Joke. That last one, it was a joke.

But, watching Roxy stalk to the ring and listening to the crowd’s reaction, Isa was really not having a great feeling about this match. The green haired woman moved with a predator’s grace, her hips swishing from side to side in a two-piece red and gold suit that put Isa in mind of nothing more than MMA gear.

Also not reassuring. Further worrying were the other woman’s actions when she entered the ring, walking right over to Isa, into her personal space and inspecting her like she was a cow there to be slaughtered.

It caught Isa so by surprise that she couldn’t have resisted if she’d wanted to and it wasn’t until Roxy stepped back that the dark-haired rookie recovered her poise, folding her arms and meeting the green-haired warrior’s gaze with as much intensity as she could muster.

”Get a good enough look?”

Then, mustering her courage, she stepped forward, going to press her own full chest against Roxy’s rack. For once, Isa was the smaller fighter in the ring (in more ways than one), but she refused to let it bother her.

”Don’t think I’m just going to roll over and let you ‘conquer’ me,” She told Roxy with more confidence than she felt, ”And these legs of mine can crush even a Conqueror out.”

If she could get them around Roxy, or stretch her out. If.

Roxy would inspect Isa for a moment or two as she continued to look over the raven haired woman, whyen she stepped back though and would consider things for a moment, she would feel how Isa stepped right up towards her and pushed her own impressive rack up against Roxy's bigger pair.

Hearing what the woman cute newcomer to the league had to say, the green haired beauty would simple put a amused smile. Nodding her head a little. " Oh, I think I've gotten enough of a look kitten. Hate to say, I had hoped you'd be more impressive looking." Roxy said as she stood firm against Isa who seemed as if she was trying to appear tough.

" No one let's me conquer them, kitten. I just do." Roxy spoke as she would then have the referee get up in between the two busty competitors, to try and pull and push them away from one another. After they had been separated, the referee would call for the bell to get the match under way. With a hand on her hip and the other moving up to her neck to help crank and crack it, the former mma fighter would smirk towards Isa. " Anytime you're ready kitten."

Yeah, that wasn’t ever likely to sound like anything but bravado. Which is probably because that was what it was, Isa trying to keep her confidence up. That didn’t mean she didn’t believe what she was saying though.

She firmly believed that, if she could get anyone on the mat, she had a chance. And, if she got her legs around someone, she could get a win.

Getting her opponent there? That was the trick. But Isa hadn’t come this far to give up, whoever she was put in the ring against.

And wrestlers, like any predator, could sense fear. So Isa wasn’t going to let Roxy see any. She wasn’t afraid of her.

That meant she wasn’t backing down. Not until the ref girl got in the way. At that point, with the bell about to ring, it was time to stop posturing and start planning how she was going to get Roxy down on the mat and vulnerable.

With the referee interrupting them, literally pushing in between the two women, the Romani girl backed up, thinking hard as she did.

Not taking her eyes off the Conqueror, aware that what she was about to do was about as smart as sticking her head into a Great White’s mouth and asking it to bite down, Isa shrugged.

”Please, after you…” She flashed a sly smile Roxy’s way, stepping back subtly in case the green-haired beauty did go right for her, ”Age before beauty, sweetie.”

Isa felt far more confident in any match if she could counter what her opponent tried than if she had to lead with an attack. In this match, against this woman, that was even more true than the usual.

Like with Devine, her best chance here (which wasn’t saying much) or maybe her only chance was getting Roxy down and working her over on the mat. If she could get the green haired woman angry, that…

Well, it’d either help or it’d get her murdered on live tv. Oh well. Taking up her stance, she crouched and waited to see which way she needed to duck.

Roxy would stand there as the referee soon came in next to the two of them and started to pull them apart from each other, wanting a good clean match and not an all out brawl to break out before the match even begun. After the two fighters had backed up...unlike Isa though, Roxy didn't have her eyes fixed on the woman.

She shook her head closing her eyes and placed her hands on her hips, her left foot up a bit off the ground, with only her toes touching it. She bounced the tip of her shoe against the mat. Turning her gaze back to Isa as the raven haired beauty spoke.

A light venomous glare would be shown as those eyes practically turning into those of a viper ready to strike. The green eyes looking as if they were going to bite down on that neck and never let go. Yet...those eyes closed once more and Roxy let out a sigh.

She would step forward, arms rising slowly as her limbs were limbered up and ready...she stepped forward with a sudden burst of speed. Trying to close the distance and look as if she was going to throw a punch right up to Isa's face! Yet, there was a sudden shift to Roxy as she raised her right foot off the ground and would stomp it down, trying to smack her sole down against Isa's Instep! Trying to cause the woman a fair amount of pain and stop her from retreating, as she would press her boot down on that foot to keep her trapped in close.

From there! That punch would shoot up! Trying to smack Isa in her face and follow it up with a small little barrage of strikes aimed between the woman's face and chest, alternating between the targets as she tried a bit of a quick but hopefully overwhelming assault! Before moving her foot and stepping back with her arms raised. Trying to....strike like that viper of a woman she could be at times, simply because of Isa's insult.
