Okay, since it's out everywhere for PS4 I will officially say that there is no cross-play options. Everything I make is Steam Exclusive. However since the DLC (that makes the PC version match the PS4 but I got the PC version a year earlier for less so w/e) some of the new cast will require the DLC to be installed for anyone who wants to play with them.

Is the DLC worth getting? Aside from a whole bunch of New Japan wrestlers, what does it add to the game as a whole?

The NJPW wrestlers come with all the parts that make up the characters, so there's a lot more patterns, ups the number of voice slots to 5 from 2, adds a bunch of moves like Goto's GTR, a Gotch-Style Piledriver, The snap-dragon suplex and so forth as well a single player campaign Fighting Road. A visual novel-esque campaign where you start as an NJPW trainee and finishes as fighting for the IGWP world title at WK12.
