Eka Guramishvili vs Harumi Hazama: A fight with Pride?

Her body was so hot, and the floor so cold, it felt nice to just lay there and wait for her body to recover, which felt miles down the road. Now that the muscles in her body finally relaxed and received the break they had so desperately wanted, they suddenly turned to led, and refused to move anymore. Even if she wanted to, Harumi couldn’t move an inch without a muscles blasting pain through her body in protest.

Th tired judoka was ripe pickings for the Georgian, who decided to wrap up the match with a finisher. Harumi could vaguely feel her legs get wrapped up and pulled taut, just before a pair of hands wrapped around her skull and put her into an immensely painful hold. The darkness in Harumi’s eyes was starting to crawl further and further in, the young warrior beginning to black out slowly.

After a few minutes in the excruciating hold, Harumi gently raised her wounded arm and lightly tapped on Eka’s wrist, signaling her submission, and reminding her to hopefully let her go.

Eka was a viper coiled up, full of chaotic energy. Her muscles were all taut, and the Georgian girl was pushing herself to the limit. As much pressure as she was putting herself under, she could only imagine what Harumi was going through. After all of this, after everything that both of them had been through this evening, Eka was the one on top. She refused to feel sorry, though, for such a fierce and tough competitor.

As soon as she felt her opponent tapping, she released the hold. She rolled off of her opponent, and sat down on the mat. The Georgian girl leaned over so that her long dark hair covered her face, and held her head in her hand. For a second, Eka did not want to do anything other than breathe deeply and do what she could to recover from the match. Her legs were spread wide, and she ignored the crowd howling with joy for her.

Soon, she no longer had the option to shut out the rest of the world. She felt the referee's presence lurking above her, and she looked up to see the woman with an expectant look on her face. Eka pulled herself up. When the ref girl raised her hand, she smiled. It was a smile that was wide and pure and unhesitant. She waved at the crowd, soaking in their love.

But her attention was not on them for long. She walked over to Harumi, and extended her hand down towards her opponent that she may lift her from the mat. "You battled very well, yes?" She stated.

Luckily for the tired Judoka, Eka hardly seemed interested in putting her through anymore pain then need be, the georgian releasing her as soon as she felt her tap out. Though she was free from the womans grasp, she could still feel the muscles in her back cramp up from the submission hold, Harumi letting the painrun its course before even attempting to move once again.  Not even her larger opponent was immune to her own fatigue, the two of them simply laying on the foor, trying to get there breath back.

The look on Eka’s face was priceless when she noticed the ref was waiting for her to stand back up so she could have her arm raised. Sure, Eka was happy, but she had a face that reminded Harumi of a young child who did not want to get out of bed to go to school. Still, she soaked up the applause while Harumi got to stay in “bed” for another five minutes or so. In hindsight, she probably got the better deal.

Finally, as Harumi began to pry herself away from the comfort that was the hard ring floor, Eka offered her a hand to help her rise, praising her effort in battle. Harumi seemed to still be a little shaken from the earlier damage, but took Eka’s hand in good faith.

“Ah, um…thank you. You did very well too.” The Judoka finally found her balance, and quickly dusted herself off, “You might have surprised me, but I’ll be sure to get you next time.” The judo girl said with a slight smile, before turning around and beginning to walk out of the ring. “I’m gonna go put some ice on this arm. I hope to see you around soon Eka. I look forward to you teaching me that Kimura sometime!”

Despite the loss, Harumi left the ring with a smile on her face. She had helped a fellow competitor sort out her feelings, and in the end possibly obtained a new friend. There was no greater victory then that.
