How much longer did they have in this round? Carmen wasn’t sure and had no way to check. That was the thing in a match like this, with an opponent who could bring the pressure that Lorenza could. One look away, one flinch, one wasted instance, and this woman could throw a punch that would floor. When you were in the cage with the tigress, you were a blink away from disaster.

So she had to stay on her toes, keeping close, focused on the pressure. Her feet planted, she was devoted to this spot, drawing an invisible line on the canvas and defending it. That was the plan.

Devoting everything she had to offense, Carmen continued to weave left and right, lashing out as she came towards Lorenza to deliver the full bodyweight. It was an onslaught, a powerful motion that would’ve made most boxers tighten up like a clam...but not this one. Never this one.

Can’t go back. She could only move forward here, and there was only one way to do that.

Fists flew in every direction, as she and Lorenza blasted each other with their heavy artillery. The hooks were hard enough to deal with, and then came an uppercut, plasting her so hard in the chin that her mouth guard was sent flying off to the side. Carmen ignored it and spread her stance, compensating for her wobbling feet with a better base, and went right back to work.

Left and right, again and again, she threw them out as fast and hard as she could, fighting to keep her rhythm as Lorenza fought just as hard to obliterate it. This was a race to the finish line now, and she refused to be the one who came in second place.

Carmen's movement began to coalesce into a single fluid motion, tracing that infinity symbol through the air over and over again, weaving one way and throwing a punch, then weaving the other way and doing the same thing. Lorenza had seen this before, used on herself, used on other opponents in other matches of Carmen's. She knew just how deadly this Dempsey Roll could be when used by one of the greatest boxers to ever grace the planet Earth.

But Lorenza had done her research. She wasn't interested in dodging, or retreating, trying to beat Carmen with her smarts. She intended to go toe to toe with her, shot for shot, and defeat Carmen's potent roll with raw force. Her uppercut hit Carmen hard, so hard that she even lost her mouthguard as a result, but it was not enough to slow her down. Lorenza kept going, taking another tremendous hook from Carmen as she bent in the other direction and came back at her lover, slamming a potent hook of her own right into Carmen's cheek!

And then Carmen twisted back at her from the other side, and Lorenza, naturally falling into that rhythm, matching Carmen, came at her again, perfectly mirroring that roll, the two of them crashing together again in a bone-crushing cross-counter!

If Carmen refused to give up her roll, then Lorenza would just have to break it: trade Carmen shot for shot, use the momentum of the punches she took to fuel her own mirror roll! At some point, she, too, lost her mouthguard, and her legs began to tremble under the stress. But she just kept punching, and punching, as her knees began to bend, as she tasted blood in her mouth, as she felt her nose get smashed and begin to bleed, as well...

Just keep going, just keep going.

How long had they been fighting? Carmen could’ve sworn they’d been at it for longer than three minutes, far longer. She was no stranger to the way time seemed to crawl in the ring, but this round in particular felt like an eternity. Maybe it had something to do with the way her body was reacting during the hentai round, her adrenaline running on overdrive, something technical like that? She’d never mixed sex and boxing before, they were both swimming in uncharted waters.

Just keep going, just keep going.

Carmen couldn’t even say she was issuing her body orders anymore, like it and her brain had completely disconnected. Lorenza’s impacts weren’t registering. ...right as Lorenza was doing the same thing, it seemed. Carmen saw the punch coming, but not the impact itself. Her world just went white for a moment, and when it came back, she was facing the ceiling, looking up at the lights as the crowd roared and the referee started a count somewhere in the distance.

It was as if the two of them in the middle of this exchange, were transported into some nether-dimension, where time had no meaning and pain was the baseline for existence. Lorenza could have sworn they went at it like that, Carmen trying to roll and Lorenza trying to stop her from doing so, for far longer than the thirty seconds it must have lasted on the mortal plane of existence. The simultaneously impacts of leather-clad fists against faces happened over and over and over again, seeming to merge with Lorenza's breathing, and with her heartbeat.

Every other sound was deadened as she tried to force Carmen to back down, using the momentum of the punches she took to fuel her own twisting motion, delivering her fist over and over again into Carmen's cheek, sometimes a little higher, bashing into Carmen's cheekbone just underneath her eye, and sometimes a little lower, knocking her on the chin, as if trying to knock that head clean off her shoulders.

And, the whole time, Carmen kept on doing the exact same to her, over and over and over again, the Puerto Rican beauty stubbornly refusing to back down from this mutually destructive situation.

Lorenza put everything she had into every punch, not even realizing that what she put into that final punch was all she had left until after she threw it. She saw Carmen's punch coming, filling her vision, and then, just like that, everything went white. She didn't know what became of her punch.

And then, in a flash, she was on her back, staring up at the ceiling, with absolutely no idea where Carmen was. Lorenza brought both her green gloves up to her ringing skull, groaning as she touched it, shook it. A hard, migraine-like aura forced her to stop moving it for a second, and, slowly, her vision refocused and she managed to blink without it feeling like her eyeballs were burning.

"Fuuuuck..." she mouthed soundlessly, as, slowly, knowing there was a count, she would roll over onto her hands and knees, forcing herself to power through.

Carmen Rodriguez. Her name was Carmen Rodriguez, she was in the Momentum arena, this snazzy place that the AFW had bought for the event and future boxing affairs. They were in...God, what was the name of the city again? Didn’t matter.

What did matter, however, was that Carmen was having some memory problems, as her brain restarted from that hellacious blow. She’d heard about this sort of thing before, boxers forgetting their names for a little while after suffering a heavy hit, but this was the first time she could ever recall taking one like that herself. This was a new experience, and she-

”Four!”

Oh, crap.

She looked over to her side and saw that her opponent was in the same boat, laid out only a couple of feet away, suffering much the same way. Not a problem, though. Carmen was sturdier, she could get up to her feet before Lorenza could, she was the tougher one here. Just had to prove it. All she had to do was lift her head, then her upper torso, and then…

”Five!”

Nope, it wasn’t happening. She didn’t even get to the next body part before gravity took hold and she was dragged back down to the canvas. Okay, better luck next time. Deep breath, suck it in, and…

”Six!”

Nope, didn’t happen there, either. Carmen banged her fist on the mat, frustrated by her body’s stubborn refusal to work, and looked back over to see if her eternal rival was having the same problem.

Lorenza couldn't tell what number the count was at, only that there was one. It was not a sound she heard altogether too often, at least not from this angle, and she still felt a little disoriented as she writhed and slapped at the canvas, managing to turn herself over onto her belly, but completely failing to actually get her hands and knees underneath her in order to push herself up.

This was as out of it as she could ever remember being in her life. It had been foolhardy, true, to go head to head like that, to willingly take punishment from a woman as strong as Carmen. Her head was ringing and she felt like she could taste the warm light of the arena lights after that exchange.

Still, she didn't really regret her decision.

"Six!"

Lorenza managed to turn her head to look at Carmen, though that seemed to sap any strength she might have used for pushing herself up. Carmen's arms were moving, but she wasn't doing anything more than Lorenza was to actually get up. If the Tigress couldn't lift herself onto her feet, her lovely rival was not about to be able to.

"Seven!" Lorenza gave another shove, managed to get most of her body up off of the canvas, but her arms locked up and it was all she could do to just hold herself there, in that position.

"Eight!"

"Nine!"

Carmen loved Lorenza Saldano.

She wasn’t quite sure what that love exactly was. Maybe it was the love you could have for a sister or a family member. Maybe it was the love you could have for a close friend. It might have even been the sort of love you have for yourself - the two of them felt so closely linked that, at times, she thought of them as one person split into two bodies. While she wasn’t spiritual, she couldn't deny that there was a link between them.

But as much as she thought those things, she didn’t really realize it until just now. As she laid on the mat, broken and aching, and saw the blue-haired beauty looking back at her with those deep, longing eyes.

”Ten!”

The ten-count might as well have been a countdown, as Carmen’s concerns about the match instantly melted away. It wasn’t about coming out on top or who got the most points or anything. All that mattered was that she get all over this gorgeous, beautiful woman fate had tied her up with. Right now.

Carmen rolled over and feverishly pulled her gloves off, struggling to get them off her hands like they’d caught on fire. As soon as they were free, she crawled forward and tried to mount the lioness, looking to get on top of her, wrap her up, and start kissing away, wanting their bodies to touch as much as possible.

Lorenza had never been knocked out so quickly before, and she knew Carmen hadn't, either. Some could have said it was because they were growing older, softer, but that wasn't the case.
