Tatiana heard the final count, just like everyone else. She was laying there, draped over Shizuka, getting the pin on her, waiting for the referee to make her count. It was logical. Two came after one, three came after two, nothing complicated about it, no surprises. And yet, when the referee made the final count and the bell rang, it still took a moment for the revelation to sink in.

They’d won. She’d won. Their first ever match, and one that was against a pretty solid, established team.

She sat there, in stunned disbelief, until her sister came in from behind and took her by the hand, raising her to her feet so they could bask in the moment, putting them both on display for the crowd’s applause. Their first win. Their only win, but you had to start from somewhere.

And the day wasn’t through just yet.

Yukari remained laid out on the mat, already regaining consciousness but still too weakened to even get back up. Shizuka leaned against the apron, grunting and grumbling over their defeat.

As the opposing team celebrated their hard-fought victory, the Onigashima reunited in the ring, with Shizuka helping Yukari to get up. The ringside crew came inside to bring an ice pack for Yukari to ease the pain on her back. From the look of it, she needed to take a rest for a few days in order to recover.

So, both Shizuka and Yukari made their way out of the ring, heading to the backstage so that they could have their reflection over their own defeat, as well as to give themselves a chance to recover.
