Karen Starring vs. Vanessa York - Mass Appeal

Vanessa was back.

It was a hard thing to believe as she made her way down the ramp, bobbing along to her theme music and waving to the crowd. She hadn’t thought she would miss this place as much as she did, thought she could’ve just written it off as another phase in her life and went on to the next one. But now that she was here, taking in the smells, seeing all the faces, absorbing all the energy, just getting into the whole spirit of wrestling…

Yeah. Yeah, she missed this a little.

Not as much as she’d missed her daughter, of course, which was the reason she’d went back home in the first place. While she hadn’t made super-money in her first AFW run, she did well enough to get a small fanbase and build up some investments. She was taken care of, enough that she had some time to go back to the state and be with Cynthia, actually be the mother she was supposed to be. That was a good few months - reconnecting, catching up, giving her daughter the hugs she couldn’t give over Skype calls.

But business called, and now she was back. Back in the ring. Back in the fight.

She didn’t resent it, and made her way into the ring with a little smile on her face. She ducked through the ropes and already started bouncing, doing some shadow boxing as she made her way to the corner and turned to face the ramp.

She didn’t know who she was up against today - she’d been called in on a rush match, just something to fill out the card, and they’d been skimpy on the details. Didn’t matter much to her, honestly. She was just happy for the chance to get some kinks out and tune up. Nothing fancy, nothing serious. All she wanted out of tonight was a nice, clean match. Couldn’t have been that much to ask for.

Christ. How long had it been?

Six months? No? Longer? Who the hell did she even face last.

Ah yeh, that was right. Jessica Wright. In a match she most certainly didn't win. In-fact, in a match she lost so badly, Karen Starring effectively put the world of wrestling on hold outright. It certainly didn't look to be working out for her, with her general record of mixed wins and losses somewhat over-shone by the fact her final few were outright humiliating defeats. 'Wins don't matter' they said; 'a good showing is all you need' she was told. Difficult to believe when the top champs and contenders were beaten once in a blue moon, a fact that only made Karen's dodgy record all the more the bitter pill for the amazon to swallow.

But now was not the time for simply sitting back and wallowing in ones defeats, the raven haired figure considered. Today, she was going to make her return, and set things right. In the past, she'd gone in head first, fighting opponents whom simply should not have been challenged at her level. Hell, her second match was against a woman who still hadn't been beaten clean since Karen signed on.

No, there would be no simple mistakes this time; no former world champions challenged when one could barely muster a defeat over the lower card. It was not too say Vanessa York was to be a easy foe, make no mistake. The Karen of old would have considered the look of the redhead alone enough to believe she was in for a easy time, but such a way of thinking was what had gotten the raven haired figure into such a spot in the first place.

There would be no challenges made to those she simply could not beat, there would be no taunting when one should have been pushing on. There would be no mercy. Only violence. Such was the way of the new Karen Starring.

Things would start off slow, as did all dramatic returns, with a beating of a cymbal and introduction of a steady beat, along with accompanying shredding guitar as Karen's apparent new theme fired up its tempo among the arena speakers. Only when the beat truly escalated did the amazon emerge on the ramp, in dramatic fashion nonetheless.



And in a new attire to boot. Evidently, a one piece with a giant hole cut from the fabric to exemplify cleavage was simply not revealing enough for the woman, as she stood on the ramp with arms wide and head to the sky. As if some form of messiah, nonetheless.


Heads would turn, as they did regardless of whom or what with the top heavy figure descending upon the ring, hands to her sides tense but uncurled, with bountiful curves jiggling and somewhat underselling the tone of the amazon. Karen in appearance alone was a nigh perfect opposite of the once soft, blonde 'bunny' amazon whom appeared on AFW lands. If anything, her midriff and arms were more muscle than they were fat nowadays, a side affect of the figure spending countless moments deemed 'down time' upon the weights in her back room. All of said muscle of course appeared to be undermined, given the giant bouncing rack ever present on the amazons top, mind.

Her feet upon the ring canvas as quickly as they had found themselves on the ramp itself, the amazon took what she could in of her surroundings. The Karen of old would have opened with a quip; a burn directed against a woman she'd soon be fighting, instantly picking a further fight with the woman before her before things had even begun. This time, no such remark was made; in its place a mean, dark scowl at Vanessa, before Karen's eyes shifted left and right.

She was no fool towards the match placement; two returning stars only gaining a position on the lower-midcard at best, but she admittedly was not expecting this. No roar for her return? No grand entrance by the official? She was receiving looks, and a few chants of course, but all directed at the curvy figure before them and not the amazonian powerhouse who had returned from a lengthy stint away. If anything, Karen as somewhat insulted.

"Does..no-one remember who the fuck I am?" Words whispered from her lips, not with a hint of sadness, but with quiet, barely-withheld rage.

Apparently, she'd have to remind them.

The moment Karen’s music started up and the woman came out, Vanessa began to get a premonition. A slight inkling that there was some bullshit involved with this matchup.

First off, the theme was pretty heavy and dominating for just some no-name nobody. Not her cup of tea - Vanessa was always more of a hip hop/old school rap sort of girl - but she could appreciate the energy and it had plenty of it. This wasn’t the theme that some kawaii woud come out to, or some fresh-faced rookie. This more fitting for a destroyer. Sure enough, the woman who stepped out made for a good match.

Tall. Wide shoulders. Bulging muscles. Impressive tits. This was not a small woman by any definition of the word, and the main focus of Vanessa’s strategy for this match was already forming in ther mind: keep moving, don’t slow down, and hit Karen more than she hit her. Much, much more.

More than anything, she got the impression that this was going to be an ugly, painful kind of match. ”Here we go…”

The bruising had a scowl for, but looked more pissed at the audience than anything, for reasons that Vanessa couldn’t fathom and didn’t much care about. She was distracted? Great. Just more opportunities to score hits, ones she would be all too happy to seize.

The referee came in between them and ushered them forward, and Vanessa complied while she cracked knuckles, stepping over to the center of the ring with a casual strut. Up close, the size difference between them was even easier to notice, but she didn’t let it bother her. Visibly. ”Yo.” She canted her head to the side, just by a few degrees. ”You look a bit distracted, there. Sure you’re ready to go?”

Karen didn't give the redhead the response she sought. She was still the same spiteful, horrid amazonian powerhouse deep down, but now, she'd attempt to focus that fury when the time was right. A huge part of her wanted to goad Vanessa, and mock her of her upcoming inevitable defeat no less.

But what would be the point? Would words not simply be best subsisted for action?

Attempting as best she could to adopt such mantra, Karen pushed her arms forward a few times, almost shadow boxing the air and stretching out her limbs as her eyes locked back to Vanessa. No verbal response was given. Only another glare, one that grew as Vanessa cut the distance between them by a few steps.

This, Karen could not refuse.

Cutting the distance on her own side, swaggering arms finding a home resting on her hips, Karen opted to let her size do the work for her. Standing tall before the redhead now, not more than a step away, Karen's glare bared down on the woman with enough fury to strike a lesser figure down there and then. She was no giant, especially in comparison with her fellow AFW amazons, but she certainly had the size here width and thickness wise. Vanessa was a shade taller, but for reasons obvious, Karen had fittingly been described as nigh all as a thick set woman.

And she wanted Vanessa to damn well know it.

And no response. Yup. Vanessa just groaned and blew a few stray hairs out of her face, knowing where this would all be going, now. Karen was definitely one of those kinds of wrestlers - no nonsense, all intensity all the time, too raw and gritty for their own good. Shame, really. Vanessa always liked a little back and forth.

Karen in particular seemed to want to get the intimidation thing going, stepping Vanessa’s way with hands on her hips and her chest thrust proudly. The two of them were fairly similar in height, but it was clear that they’d spent their time using that height to create two wildly different types of bodys. Hers was built for speed, sleek and slender, meant to dance around the ring. Karen, on the hand, resembled a tank with legs and breasts. A daunting sight.

Vanessa knew how this worked, though. Just like when you faced a wild animal. Don’t back down. Don’t show fear.

”Yes, you have nice breasts.” She gave her foe a nod, slow and deliberate, and took a step back, as the beginnings of a smirk appeared on her face. ”That is why you’re stepping to me like that, right? Showing off? Because if you’re trying to intimidate me, let me say…” She shook her head. ”Not going to work, sunshine.”

Karen wasn't surprised. You don't grow to be the height of Vanessa, be you stickly-thin or tree-trunk thick, without having natural confidence about her. Eyes at near perfect level to one another, Karen's face didn't change in the slightest as Vanessa glared back, albeit she'd give something of a lowly tut when comments were made towards her rather generous bosom.

Unsurprisingly, Vanessa was not the first to launch comments at said chest, given there were few in AFW whom could compete with Karen when it came to chest size, excluding those of outright monstrous disproportion.

Eyes rolling down a moment, visibly un-amused, it would be a uncharacteristic backing away by the amazon that served as a response to Vanessa's comments. There was nothing to say, Karen figured. The sooner she stepped back, the sooner the bell rung.

And the sooner her fists could speak for her.

”Okay, then.” Vanessa gave a single clap and a bow to go along with it. ”Strong, silent type. Got it.”

She whistled and brought up her fists, getting into her rhythm as she psyched up for the fight. While she wasn’t sure what Karen’s story was, she was pretty sure that she wanted the next chapter of it to involve her being squashed into the mat. If that were the case, she was leaving this arena sorely disappointed - Vanessa hadn’t come back to the AFW just to lose her re-debut. This was her night.

The bell rang, but Vanessa didn’t go barreling in right away, didn’t start throwing a random barrage Karen’s way. The woman looked like she could take a hit, so the question came down to when and how she should spend her energy wearing the behemoth down.

She eased in. A little closer. Almost in range. And…

Vanessa closed the distance with a sudden step in and lashed out, throwing a couple of quick jabs towards Karen’s face, before she backed off and returned to a safe range.

Karen was stronger than she used to be, thicker too, if such a thing was possible, and whilst it may be apparent in her actions to come, she continued herself the wiser. She didn't run in, for a start, bull rushing her foe as she would have in days of old, only to be caught out in stronger arms or with faster reflexes. Instead, she simply held her ground; fists raised to chest height as the bell rung, signalling it was time to get down to business.

But one thing with Karen Starring remained, and would always remain. She was damn slow.

Unsurprising for a woman as heavyset as the raven haired amazon, Karen only moved with great speed with monstrous exertion. That, or when she had the ropes to her back. But against a foe like this, a foe as slim and toned as Vanessa York, she'd very much be the tortoise to her hare.

Pacing slowly as Vanessa eased herself in, it was with the luckiest of motions that Karen raised her arms; Vanessa's fast inevitably moving faster than her own, but somewhat weighed down by the distance those jabs had to come. The redheads fists would find their home on Karen's meaty biceps, sending a sting into said arms along with a jiggle to the busty figures frame. Karen, unsurprisingly, was not amused.

Baring her teeth and shaking herself off, the amazon slowly approached, step by step, evidently seeking one of her own.

If ever a prime example in the difference between the two fighters was needed, then Karen's following actions effectively summed up her differences to the redhead. In place of rapid, multiple jabs, she threw but one.

A slow, wide hook, evidently looking to find a home in Vanessa's modest abs.

The first hit belonged to Vanessa, and she really should’ve been happier about that. No, it wasn’t that big of a deal in the long run. No, it hadn’t hurt Karen enough to make any real damage happen. Yes, she would almost certainly wind up paying for her opening volley when her foe managed to get her hands on her for however brief a time...but it would be worth it, just to have that opening edge. Starting a match off a good foot was important.

Karen seemed to agree. Not that she would ever say it out loud, not with her ‘silent, but deadly’ schtick, but Vanessa could read her face well enough to say this woman was well and truly pissed off. And they’d only just started. Her mood was not going to get any better from this point out.

She was coming in now, moving at a mighty crawl. Vanessa might’ve laughed at it, if she couldn’t sense the danger in those movements, couldn’t see all the muscles swelling and guess what terrible power was in that blow. A wide hook, one that she had plenty of time to dodge, but she decided to weave around it early. With a hit like that, she was better served to play it safe.

She danced, twisting away from the blow, and chose to retaliate in the same move. This time she went lower and struck out with a real move, through a quicker, more polished version of the move that Karen had just attempted on her.

Vanessa’s hook went lower, and targeted one of Karen’s two most glaring targets - a hard shot to her right breast, slicing into the side.

Despite her confidence, Karen was not so foolhardy as to be left dumbfounded as to why her strike missed its marks. Karen was a slow, powerful striker; her hits were more suited for either a trapped foe, or one simply too busy to respond. She knew this, and yet Vanessa's attempt at wittling down the amazon before the masses had spurred her onto throw hands regardless.

Still, atleast when she returned that arm, she was not so slow as when she propelled it; her guard soon established as she clubbed together her bear-like paws, before trying to assume something of a circling motion.

That was, if Vanessa hadn't already lauched her response.

Foe faster and able to change postures quicker, Vanessa's own attack was like an upgraded versions of Karen's, if not so much in posession of the perhaps overly amount of power Karen's own hit packed. But it paid the bills nonetheless, and hit its target dead on.

A target that made Karen's eyes go wide, first with ache, and then with fury.

"You little fucking..." Opting to deliver her first words to Vanessa in typical enraged tone, Karen fought through the desire to step back and clench that excessive bust of hers, and instead duck low. Hands in her front and crossed, the figure before Vanessa would be somewhat attempting to take on the form of a stone wall, as she rapidly began to approach.

Evidently however, she was not trying to close the distance for a strike that this time would not miss.

She wanted Vanessa backed up, to the corner, to the ropes, she didn't care which.

Just somewhere that flexibility and speed of hers meant next to nothing.
