Daisuke Takeuchi vs. Valley Doll - Checkmate

Reflexes were good in wrestling, but they could also work against you in the wrong situation, and this was an example. When Valley hit the Phoenixsault, she almost went for a pin right away, forgetting the stipulations of the match in her excitement. She was able to reign it in, thankfully, but it was a close thing, and she almost wasted some precious time - nevermind looking stupid in the process.

Thankfully, she had plenty of viable submission moves in her arsenal, and, as it just so happened, Daisuke rolled over to his chest and gave an opening for one of the better ones.

She moved over and came down on his back, laying on him with her legs out to side. She used them to scissor his arm, holding it in place, while she reached up and over his, grabbed him by the chin, and attempting to pull him with Crippler Crossface, twerking his neck back.

They were fairly close to the ropes, so she had little faith in it earning a submission, but that was okay. A good way to kick things off, regardless.

The Phoenixsault maneuver Valley managed to pull off was quite the spectacle, the crowd certainly appreciated the high-flying move as they erupted in cheers after the impact although the same could not be said for Daisuke, who had the wind knocked out of him from the impact. He let out a small groan, he didn't have to worry about getting pinned so he casually rolled away from her and shifted onto his belly, protecting his mid-section and abs should Valley seek a follow up on her offence. Still, his new position didn't really save him as Valley quickly moved over and came down on Daisuke's back laying on top of him with her legs as she scissored his one of his arm to hold it in place.

Daisuke attempted to scramble around, he knew what was next. He squirmed forward and brought his hands up but Valley had already locked her hands around his face, wrenching his head backwards to complete the Crossface submission. "Ahhhhhhh!!" Saah!" he moaned, shaking his head. His free hand came up to her fingers, trying to pry them apart as he squirmed forward, using his legs to push the two of them closer to the nearest set of ring ropes. The wrestling prince would give up trying to pry open Valley's grip and instead stretch his hand to grab the bottom rope for a rope break to earn his freedom instead.

Tight hold, gripped tight, legs secure, weight properly distributed, strength adequately used.

A successfully applied submission move. A beautiful thing.

Valley knew from experience how painful this move could be, having experienced it often in her matches with Haley. The Silver Ace usually mixed in a little pleasure when she did, sweetening the deal with a nice dose of ear-nibbling. The Slamazon wasn’t about to give that level of attention to Daisuke, so he instead got the purely painful version. All torque. All agony.

To his credit, he didn’t just take it lying down. He fought, worked hard to get towards the ropes, and she had to admire his grit. Reports of Daisuke being some pampered rich kid who couldn’t hack it in the ring were greatly exaggerated, and she was delighted to see it.

She held on all the way until he grabbed the ropes, then broke off without any hassle, rolling off his back towards the center of the ring. She popped up to her feet, leaned over, and gave him a quick clap, before she moved back into her wrestling stance and waited for the Prince to come back her way. Just a few mind games, keeping him on his toes.

Daisuke was trapped in a pretty effective submission hold. His head being bent backwards, as he felt a tightness around his upper back as well. Valley's fingers were locked tight around his face which felt quite uncomfortable as well. Luckily he was close enough to the ring ropes and managed to squirm forward and grab onto the ropes after making an initial effort to escape by prying after her arms off his face which failed.

He held onto the ropes and soon felt her fingers slip away from his face as she slid off his back, giving him that relief on his neck not being torqued back. His head fell forward, his forehead pressing against the bottom rope as he took a few seconds to catch his breath while still down on his stomach. Her clap woke him up though, he gritted his teeth and pulled on the ring ropes to pull himself back up and turned to face her.

He nodded at her direction, once again bringing his hands out infront of him as he matched her wrestling stance and began to circle her, edging closer and closer as he looked for an opening.

Valley was prepared for Daisuke to come charging at her, right out of the gate. She was begging for it, more or less. She’d done this enough to know what would come next - he’d be made, come at her too quick, give her too big an opening, and she would exploit it to win the match. A solid strategy that rarely failed her.

This was one of those rare times, though, as Daisuke showed a wisdom that she hadn’t expected, keeping those hot young fires of his from getting too out of control. Impressive. She wouldn’t admit it out loud, but impressive.

Okay. Not a problem. She could work with this.

She brought her arms up as Daisuke moved in again, once more attempting a lockup. There were a few chuckles in the audience, people thinking it was a silly move, but she could see the sense in it. He was more ready this time. Wary and keen.

The circled, taking careful steps, moving in closer and closer, only for her to break way at the last second and close in quick. She raised her arms to lock up, but only made contact for a second before she attempted to duck down, spin underneath his shoulder, and pulled his arm along with her as she moved to his side, attempting to put him into a tight arm wringer.

Normally, Daisuske would have adopted a more rash and aggressive stance. He would not give his opponent much respect nor a chance against his own, self-proclaimed, wrestling superiority. However, this time it was a little different. This time, Daisuke knew deep down in his heart that he was wrestling the best wrestler in AFW and rash charges and aggressive decisions would only lead him to his loss.

Daisuke took pre-cautions, keeping his distance and taking up a wrestlers crouch as he brought his hands up and surprisingly, Valley did the same as she looked eager to lock up with him once more. Daisuke didn't think for a second she was faking it, if she wanted to lock up with him it's because she was confident she could match up to him if not out-wrestle him in the lock up.

The two moved in, slowly as they edged closer and closer before it was Valley who decided to act first and close in quick. The two locked up and Daisuke grunted as he looked to push her back but that barely lasted a second before the Slamazon broke away and grabbed his arm to move to his side and lock in a arm wringer.

"Ahhhh!" Daisuke hissed in pain as he slapped his shoulder once. Daisuke began to walk around the ring, trying not to pull off any sudden movements with his trapped arms as that would only aggravate the pain. After a few moments of bearing the pain with his teeth gritted, Daisuke attempted a short spin, trying to go down on the ring mats on his back and use the momentum to pull off an arm-drag to counter Valley's arm-wringer submission.

Got him.

Valley couldn’t help but have a firm smirk as she locked the arm wringer in, giving him a good, solid twist to really up the pain. It wasn’t a big move she was doing on him, obviously but there was no arguing the effects, both mental and physical. It would hamper his arm strength, one of the clear advantages he held over her, but she was also looking to demoralize him. Just a little bit.

”There we go, there we go…” Valley muttered as she cranked the hold, using it to keep the big man under control. It wasn’t meant to last, though, as Daisuke soon got his act together and put a stop to it. Good on him.

Valley let out a surprised squawk and she was sent tumbling by his arm drag, hurled towards his side with the slick maneuver. It wasn’t too damaging, of course, but it served its purpose and got Daisuke free. Likely the whole point.

She didn’t want to let it rob her momentum, though. She popped up a moment later and went back on the attack, this time going for something a bit more direct, as she swung her leg around to hit him with a roundhouse kick to the side of her head.

While Daisuke was in no way being overwhelmed right now, his opponent was keeping him right under her control. With the second attempt at the grapple, she locked him in a tight arm wringer. The pain was not excruciating but still enough to make him groan in pain and escape the submission as it was starting to make his arm numb. More than the pain, Daisuke was becoming increasingly frustrated as he was being pretty much out-wrestled by the veteran wrestler.

Daisuke hissed in pain as Valley had him good. However, the wrestling prince came up with a nifty counter, twisting his hips a bit before using his arm strength for an armdrag throw to counter the arm wringer. It worked for the most part, earning him his freedom as Daisuke gritted his teeth and shook his arm to ease the slight pain. He wanted to get straight at her but his eagerness proved to be a mistake as Valley popped back up and with lighting fast reflexes, swung her leg to smack the side of his head with her leg!

Daisuke was stunned!! After getting whacked in the head the wrestling prince fell flat on his back before clutching the side of his head and rolling over onto his side whilst moaning in pain.

Valley’s kick connect, clear and swift, and it made the Slamazon glad that she wore the kick pads, both for the sake of her shins and the integrity of his skull. On her side, she could feel the impact tingle her bones all the way up, and she could only imagine the pain she’d be feeling if not for that tight cover. And Daisuke…

Well. Judging from the way he was rolling around, aching, holding his head? He might’ve been in some less stage of consciousness.

As it was, though, the damage was still great, especially considering the match was still in its infancy. One more, he was open, she could go for a variety of moves, and it was just a matter of picking the body part. She already had her preferences.

Valley hopped over to Daisuke’s side and dropped down, planting her knee on his skull to pin it under weight. Before he could push her off, she reached for his arm, entwined it with her own and started to pull back, yanking hard on his shoulder, looking to work away on the joints and sap his strength.

As Daisuke felt quite proud of himself having executed an arm drag to counter the arm wringer and flip the Slamazon down on her back, he figured he would have that window of opportunity to turn the tide of the match to his favour. However, he didn't expect the speed and tenacity of his opponent, who was quick to roll back up on her feet and stop him dead in his tracks by raising her leg and striking it against the side of his head.

Daisuke really felt that kick hard, he went down on his side immediately, clutching his head and massaging it to ease the pain. "Argh...shit" he hissed as he attempted to roll over onto his belly but was stopped from doing so when her knee press against the side of his head to keep him pinned down on his side. Valley would then grab his arm, entwined it with hers and pulled it back to put pressure on his shoulder. "Ahhhhh!" he moaned in pain as he wriggled about on his side. His feet kicked the mat as he used his free hand to grab her knee, trying to push it off his head.
