PPV Issues and Ideas

So in Summer Splash and Avalanche PPV, we sometimes get threads that don't have a single post until one or two months later.  In some rare cases, these threads are dead on arrival.  I am not here to point fingers or play the blame game.  I don't want this thread to turn into an argument.  What I am looking for is possible solutions to fix the problems we have had in PPV.

One idea is that you need to have some kind of setup for the PPV, be it a previous match or a promo or any kind of thread to show that there is interest.

Another idea was to implement a rule where users need to pm their intro post before they get the final approval.

Another idea is to send a confirmation PM, where users would need to respond (this would happen about week and a half before the PPV starts)

Do note that none of these ideas are final.  In fact intro post idea I have decided to get rid of since it was meant with a lot of mixed reaction (some people loved it, others hated it).  I want to see if any else here has any of their own ideas.

Ok so the problems

1: I was hurt by Christmas time. Not much at the beginning, but for two weeks it's hell.

2: We need to work on the set up for the PPVs better. It feels like too many stories/builds are started a week before the actual PPV stars

3: Maybe make use of the normal, generic PPV section more if you can't make the main PPV
