Heartbreak Tonight
Continued from Here:
Kaylee, Bubbles, and Mariah had all made their way backstage, the two older women comforting Kaylee. It was sweet of them really. Bubbles, for all her power moves, and incredible sex drive, was really a good person with a good heart, and she was someone that Kaylee was glad to be able to call one of her closest friends.
Once she stopped crying though, and was calmed down, she thanked them, then went off on her own. She needed to find Valley. It was obvious, from the bruise forming on her cheek, that they needed to have a talk. Towel wrapped around her neck, wiping away sweat, she looked through the backstage area, finally finding the door to Valley and Ace's shared locker room, and pounding on the door.
"Valley!? You in there!?"

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
”Stupidstupidstupid-”
Valley feverishly muttered to herself as she stood in front of the mirror in her dressing room, tapping away at her cell phone. She hated to be hiding in here like this, but she hadn’t had a choice - she couldn’t take all the people asking her question about her relationship or trying to give her high-fives or scolding her. Right now, she had only one priority: getting ahold of Hayley.
But the cellphone reception in the Friction arena had this funny habit of being bad at the worst conceivable times, and none of her texts were getting through.
After a few moments of failure, she sighed and put it away. She needed to be calm. She needed to think. More than anything, she needed to speak with her girlfriend in person.
What she did not need was to have Kaylee pounding on her door. ”For the love of Christ.”
After a moment to do a Hail Mary, Valley groaned and spoke up. ”Come in-” She cut herself off. The absolute last thing anyone needed to see was Kaylee entering her locker room and closing the door.
She stepped out a moment later and slammed the door shut behind her. She didn’t say anything. Didn’t move. She just stood there with her arms folded, looking Kaylee over, waiting for the explanation.

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
Ok. Valley was mad. Very mad.
As soon as the door slammed, Kaylee backed up, making sure she was out of easy slapping range, the redding bruise on her cheek a reminder of just how hard Valley could strike when she was properly pissed.
"Ok, be cool..." she started, holding her arms up, palms up, trying to keep things level between them. "I...admit...I uh...I may have gotten a bit carried away..."

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
Kaylee might not have appreciated it, but she was seeing a rare thing. Mad Valley rarely came out, by design. She’d been through so much craziness in her career, seen so much, that she tried to have a mellow view on things these days. Didn’t want to stress herself out. Stayed cool, no matter what.
But this? This was beyond the pale.
Valley stayed silent for a few seconds after Kaylee spoke, then took a deep sigh and brought her hand up to rub her eyes. All the lights had left them sore. Plus, it gave her an excuse not to look at her while she spoke. ”Kaylee, let me just ask you a question.” She took a deep breath. ”You know I have a girlfriend. I mean, you know this. And not in, like, the Bubbles way, where she’s cool with me sleeping all around. Like a real, serious, dedicated girlfriend. So what goes through your mind when you do stuff like that? How do you expect me to react when you just do…” Valley threw her hands in the air. ”...that to me on live TV?”

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
Kaylee fiddled with her hands for a bit, not sure of what to say, awkwardly rubbing the back of her head, thinking about that kiss...that sexy, beautiful, wonderful kiss.
She shrugged.
"I...I don't know, alright? I mean, I was amped up, Bubbles had been teasing me the whole match, the way it ended...I was really worked up, and...well, i mean, seeing you there, cheering me on, looking all proud...I just...couldn't control myself! I'm not trying to break up your relationship, really, I'm not...its just, I mean...You just...I dunno. You do that to me..."
She blushed, casting her eyes down in embarrassment.
She shrugged.

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
Valley wanted an explanation, by really, she wasn’t sure what she expected Kaylee to say. Everything she said was something the Slamazon already knew, even if she didn’t want to admit it. How was she supposed to deal with this? She wished there was a precedent for dealing with this sort of thing, something she could’ve looked to for guidance, but there was nothing helpful she could imagine.
”I do that to you, what does that even…” She slapped her forehead. ”Kaylee, I’m old. Not, like, super old, but I’m over ten years older than you. You should be out in some club somewhere, messing with women your own age, dancing to, I don’t know, dub step or whatever you guys listen to these days.” Or whatever they called it. When it came to music, if it didn’t feature electric guitars and bleached hair, her interest was minimal.
”Heck, go with Bubbles if you want an older woman. Why me? Because it’s hard to think you’re not out to mess my relationship when you ram your tongue down my throat in front of 8 million people.”

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
Kaylee was blushing again. She couldn't help it having no satisfactory explanation for Valley's inquisition. In truth, she legitimately didn't know HOW to answer that question.
"I mean, I do do that, the age doesn't matter, you know I believe in open and non committing relationships, and I mean like...I'm really not trying to mess up your relationship, I'd never try to do that intentionally...but its...you just...I don't know!"
It was her turn to throw her hands up in agitation, which, given her hair and outfit, made her look rather similar to when Valley did the same in the ring earlier.
"Its just...something about you! Even when I was young and in training, you just...you lit something in me! I know how it sounds, and I mean, I don't mean to sound creepy. It's not a..."love" thing, I'm not a stalker or anything creepy, but I just...something about you, I just...I get hot, and I feel this...desire. I just...want you. I don't really know how else to put it."
She shrugged, not sure what she could add to that.

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
Words. Lots of words. Valley was hearing Kaylee talk, but she wasn’t putting them together into anything coherent or sensible. She was a strong girl, but she was confused, too, all messed up by her emotions and not knowing up from down. She could say that it wouldn’t happen again, that this would be the last time, but they both knew it would be a lie. They would just keep bumping into each other, just keep sparking.
Unless…
Valley looked up, finally looked straight at Kaylee, with focused eyes. An idea was going the rounds through her head. A drastic idea, but it seemed like they were already at the point where drastic measure were needed. So it was either this idea or the status quo, and there was no way she was letting Kaylee mess up the best relationship she’d ever had.
”Here’s what’s going to happen, Kaylee.” She raised a hand, a clear sign she didn’t want to be interrupted. ”We’re going to have a match. One match, to help you get me out of your system. If - when I win that match, you have to leave me alone. Period. That’s the stip.” She folded her arms and shook her head. ”I’m sorry, but I’m putting a stop to this.”

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
Kaylee's stammering stopped as Valley's hand went up, her eyes widening in surprise as Valley made her declaration. Her heart jumped in her chest at first, excitement starting to build despite herself, as Valley announced they would have a match...and then came back down, as the older blonde named the stipulations for said match, Kaylee took a half step back, face scrunched up, hurt and confusion in her expression.
"I...but that's...I didn't mean...you kissed me back...I don't...I fought Bubbles for you..."
She mumbled, the last part coming out feebly. This wasn't fair. Okay, yeah, she had probably gone overboard, let her lust for Valley, and her very open and immodest way of expressing herself get the better of her one too many times with the veteran wrestler. But...still. Valley was her idol...her friend. She had offered to help train her, HAD trained her, to fight Bubbles, a match Kaylee had accepted to protect Valley's honor, in a certain way.
She was starting, she felt, to build a real friendship with a woman she had spent years trying to be around and befriend, even flown halfway across the world to Japan just to be able to see again, and Valley...didn't want ANYTHING to do with her? Not just didn't want to sleep with her or anything like that, which would have been one thing, but for her to just...go away entirely? Like, work in the same league, but never go near each other? For Kaylee to just go back to California?
She couldn't do that. That wasn't fair, not at all. Sure, Kaylee had come on too strong, like she often did, but Valley DID moan for her when she nibbled her ear, she DID kiss Kaylee back in the ring, even if it was for a brief second. There was clearly SOMETHING there between her and the teen, some kind of passion or kinship between them, in some form, and Valley wanted to just ignore it and make Kaylee go away?
She looked back at The Doll, and this time, her face held a different expression. She looked...almost angry.
"...Alright...Fine then. You vs Me. Kaylee Rush vs Valley Doll, The Last Slamazon Champ vs Slamazons Last Student. BUT...here's MY stipulation..."
She stepped in closer, not leaving much space between the two women. "If you win, I'll leave you alone. For good. You won't see, or hear from me again. I'll even go back to California, if mom hasn't gotten me blacklisted for good...buuuuut..." She held up a finger, to establish her point. "You see Valley, I've been wanting you for a long time...soooo...if - when I beat you...then I get you. I win, I get a night, one night only, with to have you alllll to myself."
She held her hand out, licking her lips a little at the thought as she presented her counter-challenge. "Deal?"

Re: Heartbreak Tonight
Damn, the stammering was not making this any easier.
Kaylee wasn’t trying to purposefully ruin her relationship, Valley realized that much. Who she saw standing before her wasn’t some homewrecker, wasn’t a girl who didn’t care that she already had a girlfriend. She was just a slave to her own emotions, and she couldn’t wean herself off of Valley anymore than she could wean herself off of breathing air.
That was why Valley had to make her go cold turkey. Just because she wasn’t trying to mess her relationship up, didn’t mean she couldn’t.
She grimaced at the quick mention that she’d kissed back. She couldn’t lie about that, but it was just a reaction. A natural reflex. Nothing more.
Valley was sure what sort of reaction she was going to get with her challenge, but she was sure she hadn’t been expecting aggression. She stepped back when the teen came towards, caught off guard by the move, then caught off guard again when Kaylee made her counter-offer, her own little stip.
For a second, she bristled at the idea, opened her mouth to tell her off, but she shut it just as quick. Unwritten wrestling law stated that, once a challenge was made and a stipulation was added to it, she had to accept the terms. On top of that, what did she have to worry about. Yes, Kaylee was good. Amazing for her age. Yes, she’d beaten Bubbles, a feat for any wrestler. But she hadn’t done it through traditional tactics. Hentai. Sex. The sort of thing that Valley wasn’t going to let her try on her. In a straight up match, she could handle Kaylee. Maybe it wouldn’t be the easiest match of her career, but she could do it.
”Fine. Fine.” She huffed, then turned on her heel and started to make her way down the hall. ”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go and have an extremely awkward talk with my girlfriend.” She waved as she went. ”Thanks for that, by the way.”
