Strategy: Alexa is most at home working a slower more technical match where she can make use of her skills as a ground technician and submissionist to grind down her opponents. She however is a big fan of wrestling as a whole and its traditions and can easily be found playing against her strengths by attempting to show off and present a flashier match for the fan. Since coming to AFW she has been taken in by a few more veteran wrestlers who have helped to polish out some of her rougher edges, making her a more effective all-rounder than she started as. While she can trade strikes or grapple effectively, her strength will always be on the mat with her excellent use of leverages and locks to bring the hurt to her opponents.

Characteristics:

Personality: A bit of a bleeding heart, Alexa is overly thoughtful when it comes to most people, opting to put others before herself nearly all the time. She struggles with her own self-worth as a person and a competitor, so will choose to simply avoid confronting that by spreading good elsewhere. Despite being her own worst critic, she always seeks to learn more and improve, going out of her way to put in long hours at the gym or at home on her laptop researching information or techniques she could apply to her work. She has idealistic views of the world, such as working hard enough can achieve anything or that bonds of friendship or love will always win the day... but more recently her chipper world views has started to dim a bit when met with failure after failure in the ring. She still tries to put on a bright smile in the companies of others, bottling up her doubts in an unhealthy way to stew on them in private later.

Past/History: Starry-eyed with a big heart, Alexa was always a champion for the downtrodden. Snippy girls making fun of someone? Bullies roughing up someone on the playground? She threw herself at any obstacle to try and uphold what she perceived as justice. It oftentimes ended with having to shave gum out of her hair, the odd bruise, or a black eye, but she always took the consequences for her actions with a big smile. She could always stomach the pain or humiliation knowing she had done right by someone else, and that was enough for her. Heroes are selfless after all that was exactly what she strove to be.

As a third-generation wrestler, the "Steel Body" namesake is a legacy of her that has been brandished by each who came before her. Originally belonging to the legendary Robert "The Steel Body" Shay multi-time champion with a vast variety of belts over several promotions. When he retired, the name was pasted on to her father who had all the makings of a second legend to bear the name. His career however was cut short after suffering a devastating near-death neck injury in the ring. Despite professional diagnosis that he would never walk again, her father made a miraculous recovery though he was never was able to step back into the ring. With the legacy of her grandfather, and bearing witness to her greatest hero, her father, overcoming everything in the face of all the odds she grew up with an unwavering sense of duty to carry on the family name. Her family, while supportive, has always worried she dives headlong into things far too often.

Throughout high school she participated in a variety of competitive sports, none gained her more recognition than amateur wrestling. Holding a few accolades in both a female and mixed division for her weight class on a regional and state level, she was an incredibly promising prospect. Turning down college scholarships, she instead enlisted in professional wrestling camps and training centers to start her rise to reclaim the family name of "Steel Body" and do her father proud. At least that was originally the plan.

The problem became the promotion she was a part of treated their female wrestlers as more of a side attraction, keeping them far from the big scene she was looking to hit. Taking a huge risk, she abandoned her camp, coach, and against the will of her father, enlisted in a wrestling organization overseas who was willing to let her actually take that spotlight she wanted, if she could earn it. Its been a struggle since then to stay positive, knowing she burned so many bridges in the pursuit of trying to prove herself. It hasn't panned out yet though, suffering countless losses despite her best efforts to improve. Thankfully, her best friend Ryoko has been her rock in this foreign country, making sure she keeps her spirits high for when that big win finally comes her way.

Until then, however, the girls in the back have taken to mocking her family legacy by nicknaming her "The Iron Guppy."

Fun Facts:

Memento Collector: Wherever she goes, a trunk filled with memories follows. Trinkets from home, friends, and family almost always accompany her. These range from scrap collections, yearbooks, pieces of jewelry, a clunky old boom box that belonged to her father's gym back in the day. Among all her prized possessions is her right elbow pad. The pad itself bears an old logo of a shield with muscular metallic arms flexing, though most of the grandeur is gone from it now, a good chunk of the image flaked off or faded. This item belonged to her father in his professional wrestling days, and has since been modified to fit her.

Spicy Connoisseur: She handles spicy food without breaking a sweat and can often be found eating hot food. Many people have thought twice about seating her lunch as a result.

Super Fangirl: She is completely enamored with the concept of superheroes and justice, and outwardly expresses this in how she behaves. She positively loves when her fellow wrestlers have "cool" intricate costumes or gimmicks made to replicate the looks or ideals of superheroes.
