Zoey Jae Oh:

It was about goddamn time.

After nearly two weeks of non-stop fidgeting in anticipation for her first match, Zoey Jae Oh was finally up. The confident Korean-American walked with her hands behind her head as she made her way down the halls. A little smile adorned her face as she snuck a look at one of the passing television screens, showing the vacant ring in the middle of the arena. Spirits couldn’t be higher. She had finally been scheduled for her debut in Friction.

Well, suppose it wasn’t her debut. It was a double debut. Awesome. She had to share the limelight with some nobody. Hopefully, whoever it is at least puts up a good fight before they go down.

Whatever. It was time to rock.

Making her way out onto the gorilla position and crouching low, Zoey gave each of her legs one quick stretch before standing tall. Her entrance music came seeping in and the lights flashed on all at once. A huge smirk crept onto the young Korean’s face before she jogged out down the ramp, throwing her hands up to a fairly lukewarm reaction. In fact, now that she had a clearer view, only about half of the stadium was filled. Guess she should have expected that, but not like it was a big deal. The young Korean was just happy to get a decent welcome and plenty of faces looking her way. That way, nobody would miss the blows that would mark the beginning of her way to the top.

Climbing into the ring, the nimble young fighter quickly paraded around the ring, throwing her hands up this way and that. The next moment, she was on the turnbuckle. Her feet were placed firmly on the midropes as she looked out the fullest sections of the arena.

“WHATS UP, TOKYO?!” She shouted from the top turnbuckle to a rather indifferent crowd before jumping down. “Ready for some fun tonight? Yeah! Yeah, I know you are! Best get comfy now, ‘cause this is gonna be a beatdown like no other! Trust me! You all sit back, relax, chow on that overpriced popcorn, and watch this fuckin’ badass Taekwondo chick do her thing!”

Alright, she was getting a few more cheers now. Things were looking good for the moment. All that’s left was to wait for the rest of tonight’s entertainment.

She remembered glancing her opponent’s name on the e-mail. Ann Saint-German or some shit like that. Sounded like someone who’d sooner crack a ruler on the back of her hand before wrestle her. Well, not like it mattered anyway. Nobody was going to remember that name. She wasn’t the star tonight. She was just going to be the first in the long line of losers looking to get their faces rearranged.

Zoey threw a few punches into the air, pumping herself and the crowd up for all she could, and then jumped from side to side with her low. A little bead of sweat ran down her forehead. Every part of her was tense. Her body was crying out for action. Time to get this shit started.

Anneliese Saint-Germaine:

Unlike most newcomers who have come into the AFW with hopes of getting started already, Anneliese shown patience.

Which was unlike most people that join. Not to say that she wasn't looking forward to have her debut and have her first professional fight but the French newcomer was willing to wait. Everything happens on God's timing, she would say. Which of course fits with her nun theme. The young girl stretching her arms with her hands over her head, getting the last few limbs warmed up.

She just managed to get her debut. Although this one is shared with another debuter. Anneliese didn't mind all that much, she didn't mind sharing the spotlight with someone new as well. In fact, she didn't mind giving it to the other newcomer since Miss Saint-Germain is having her first professional match. Unlike her opponent, who seems that she likes playing with the crowd and having the attitude pumped up, this sort of concept hasn't been fully grasped with Anneliese. That being she hasn't fought in a packed stadium with many, many people watching you. Maybe that could be something she could learn while she is in AFW.

So with the 'crowd pleaser' aspect nearly non-existent, Anneliese will have to pray that her skills will wow the crowd. That she has confidence with at least.

With the stage hands telling her that it's now time for her to appear, the nun rolled her neck some before getting behind the curtains. Alright. Nerves, calm yourself. And try not to look like an idiot when you go down the ring.

The angelic organ notes grace the arena before some guitar riffs blast onto the speakers, the lights filled with white and blue all across the half packed arena. The red-haired woman makes herself known to the audience. Less people than she expected. It's to be expected, the girl was new and so was the Korean-American Co-debuter. They aren't big names, and no one would have heard about Anneliese anyways. She didn't get herself mixed with the indie companies. It's a miracle that she even got into a big league like AFW. Although with rumors of how they let anyone in with no filter, one can see why.

She came down the ramp, nodding to a few people and waving to the crowd. It was the best that she could muster up to the rather lukewarm reaction she gets also. One thing she has over Zoey is that she stands out more with her attire. Making yourself memorable from the first time you enter is one battle Anneliese has won.

Anneliese climbed into the ring, the young redhead shaking herself off. Her eyes focused on Zoey, they could be the same height. Maybe, her boots certainly doesn't give her any added inches and she was a bit further away. No doubt that Zoey could be a good fighter thought. She has the attitude of one. Anneliese herself doesn't say much, only bowing to her opponent lightly, with her hands together before moving to her corner. There certainly is a bit of a clash, a battle of differences that the crowd might pick up.

The only thing that Zoey and Anneliese share is that they wanna get this party started.

Son of a bitch. Anne’s outfit was cooler than hers.

Not that she came into this arena looking to win a fashion contest or anything. She knew she was going to run into these more flamboyant types eventually. People with designers and a sense of showmanship. It was something she more or less expected coming into this industry, but for her debut? Zoey wasn’t going to be the fan-favorite off the bat, clearly. That sucked.

To be fair to herself, though, the young Korean-American did just improvise hers on the fly. It was just something she’d scraped sometime after she got the offer to join the federation. It’s not like her appearance was anything important, anyway. Nah, she didn’t need that. Her fists would be saying everything. They were more than enough.

Finally, her opponent was in the ring. Her reception was way warmer, even if she didn't say a thing. She stood, took a bow, then went patiently to her corner. Okay, scratch that. Flamboyant wasn’t really the right word. It didn’t fit that calm demeanor. That resolve and confidence she kept inside of herself. It made her stand out way more than the Taekwondo scrapper’s over-the-top pandering two seconds ago. Nice figure, too. Maybe that was it. Well, either way, that was all about to change real quick.

The official called them to the center, and Zoey made her quickly over with an eager spring in her step. She made it to the ref’s side before her opponent did, placing her hands on her hips and a confident smirk on her face.

“I’ll sing you a prayer after I knock you out, ‘kay?”

Zoey gave her a knuckles a good crack as the referee rattled off the rules. She was hardly paying attention, though. Right now, she was just hoping Anne could give her the rush she was looking for.

Unlike Zoey, Anneliese did had someone to make the outfit for her. It's good when you're friends with someone that makes costumes for high-quality cosplays on a daily basis.

Not that the French native was even looking to one up someone in terms of attire. That's just a part of the character. She's gotta show off her skills, that is the part where most will judge her on. No point going in with some fancy attire without the skills to match.

Replying Zoey's loud and boisterous confidential with her more silent confidence, Anneliese bowed to her opponent. To her, she thought it was a thing to show manners and respect before engaging in combat. Funny, being kind and showing good decorum before beating your opponent till they submit. The thought did amuse the Nun.

As much as she was willing to get started, Anneliese wasn't in any rush, showing off her confidence well to the crowd. Still having a warm smile on her face, she meets Zoey with the ref. She seemed unnerved by the presence of the Taekwondo practitioner, even when she taunted. Again, amusing to Anneliese. She wasn't sure how to reply to that, this being her first time in a professional level of a match. Trash talking is a thing, no doubt that the woman in blue has had such thrown to her before. It is a common thing in Pro Wrestling it seems. And the crowd certainly likes that.

Hmmm.... How about this?

"You'll at least learn how to pray properly before this match has ended. Pride comes before the fall, remember?"

....Yeah, that's good enough.

Not sure if she should have used the KJV version of that quote in fear of losing the crowd (you never know with people's reading comprehension. Gotta make it easy for them) she opted with the simpler version. Unlike Zoey, who is probably trying to intimidate Anneliese, the redhead listened to the rules. She then hears one rule that to her, rings alarm bells.

"No disqualification?"

That doesn't sound good at all. Surely she should protest about this? Wait, why protest? She's already here, in her attire. Why complain and have the ref change the rules just now? That probably might have her lose the following she has just garnered just on looks alone. The ref checks if they are ok with the rules and all and looks at Anneliese.

*Sigh* Alright, let's get though with this then. The French native nods to signal that she agrees.

Oooooh. Frenchie thinks she can trash talk. That was cute.

Zoey wasn’t familiar with that adage, but its meaning came to her in time. No matter the outcome, Zoey’s pride wasn’t going anywhere. What could this girl do to her, really? She was just a couple hamburgers short of being able to be considered a waif. If there was power behind that frame, she hid it pretty well under that getup. The Korean-American was sure she could take this girl, no problem.

The referee looked to them as he went over the rules. The one that caught her attention was the ‘No Disqualification’ rule. That made the match a million times more interesting. She could kick this girl’s butt all the way to Shinjuku and back and they still had to count it. Oh, she was in the for one hell of a night.

“Works for me.”

The referee nodded and raised her arm for the bell. Zoey leapt back a couple paces, bouncing back and forth on her heels and waiting for the signal. Her eyes wandered up and down her opponent, trying to figure out what this girl’s deal was in the brief seconds they had to themselves. She wasn’t familiar with any kind of nun wrestling or Catholic karate. Still, she looked put together. Good core, trained legs. Nothing special from what she could see, though, aside from that bust. Pretty face, too. Maybe she’d be nice and make sure to avoid any blemishes. No promises, though.

The bell rang out. Time to rock.

“Let’s go!”

Zoey didn’t waste anytime in getting close to her opponent. She came charging in from the other side of the ring, sprinting like a madman towards the nun. Just a couple steps further, and she’d plant her foot down before pivoting her hips, throwing her leg up with a roundhouse kick.

Sure, having some confidence can be healthy when it comes to competition. But this is honestly too much for the nun. Ah well, words can only carry so much. Actions are where you'll be judged. But something tells her she would need more patience when fighting this girl.

Lord give me strength....

Anneliese could only pray that the bite is somewhat better than her bark. She sure seems ready to go. And when the ref raised his arm for the bell, the crowd gave a modest pop as the two stepped away from the ref. It probably isn't the same reaction as two vets facing each other but the Redhead was content, unlike Zoey. With the way she jumps up and down, she might be a fast one, light on her feet. Maybe a high-flyer? Anyways, she'll probably find out once that bell rings...

DING DING!

Ah, there you go.

Not even a second had passed when Zoey charged in towards Anneliese like a bull, sprinting off the mark as if he was in the 100m sprint in the Olympics. Which did have the nun a bit surprised to see someone bum rushing towards your opponent, she hadn't moved a yard or so. Alright then, she'll have to go on the defensive right out of the gate. The Korean-American then pivots her hips, her leg swings up towards the nun with a roundhouse kick.

Striker, huh? Interesting.

The kick came out fast, but Annelise's reactions are too, getting her arm up just to perform a outer forearm block to shield her from the kick, eliciting a small grunt from the French woman. This may be her first rodeo in terms of being in a pro wrestling ring, but not so when it comes to martial arts. The way Zoey threw her kick shows she must have been learning some form or martial arts too.

She wasn't done after the block as her hand looked to grasp on that leg to keep it levitated off the ground. If she could do that, her right leg would attempt to sweep the standing leg of Zoey, looking to sweep the supposed badass chick off her feet!

As eager as Zoey was to sink her teeth into this woman, she still hadn’t been able to get a good read on her.

Granted, the whole nun thing was throwing her off a bit, but a fighter was still a fighter at the end of the day. Everyone had their own style, or lack thereof, that they brought into the squared circle. The garb was making it a bit hard to tell, but this woman had to had have some sort of martial training. It’s not like Ann was planning to attack her with the power of God or something, right? Right?

Eh, suppose it didn’t matter in the end anyway. This girl was going to eat the mat whether she liked it or not. It was all just a matter of when and how from this point on. The moment this match started, that was how things were going to be. And she intended to prove that right here and now, as she shot her leg up and went to floor this cow...

...only to have her leg taken out from under her. She tumbled right downward and onto her ass, looking up wide-eyed at the nun. Oh, that was a bad fluke. Recover, recover.

“Got lucky, bitch.” She said as she got to her feet.

Alright. Let’s try that again. This time, Zoey made some distance before charging back at her opponent and leaping up into the air, extending her leg for a jumping roundhouse kick. See her try to knock this one out from under her.
