WWE really astounds me with Daniel Bryan. I know it is a very conservative corporation, or at least it pretends to be, but how they paint valid environment concerns into the least favorable light reminds me of the handling of the Straight Edge Society. I know it´s only wrestling an not environmental and social sciences, but it makes me question the WWE as a corporation in general if I think of this as a pattern.

Nah, you are digging too much into it. Veganism is cool, and D-Bry was praised a plenty for it.

Also, since you brought up the SES, here's a disclaimer. They were NOT being portrayed as heels because WWE hates Straight Edge and thinks everyone should do drugs and drink and shit.

SES were heels because they were militant assholes who shoved their believes down everyone's throat and attacked you otherwise.

"You're not wrong, you're just an asshole." Is pretty standard for heels. Although wrestling has the problem of it's lack of subtlety resulting in it coming across as "You're wrong and you're an asshole." instead.

So despite how fun wrestling awards were last year for me...

...I watched too much NXT last year and not much else :/

And NXT had WAY too much good stuff this year for me to make accurate awards.

So instead I just wanna do my favorite award from last year: Boy of the Year.

Now at this point of the list I'll need people to mention stuff from promotions I don't watch much but know they're better than 98% of WWE's stuff.

***EDIT: I literally just listed stuff in the order I remembered them...no angry mobs plz.

AEW seems to take on steam. HHH has offered Hangman Page, Cody Rhodes and the YB very lucrative contracts but they ultimately refused to sign them. If it is true that Cody Rhodes was angry with being held down(in his eyes at least), I am not surprised that he turned the offer down. I have no idea why the YB and Page are so popular anyway, but respect for them for being consequent.

Contrary to the rise of TNA, I have some real hope that the wrestling business could take a turn for the better for adults after the really tiresome decade of total John Cena dominance.

I also hope that Zack Ryder gets a chance to wrestle for AEW. He surely is not a world champion candidate, but he definitely deserves better than Main Event for getting himself over.

WWE has announced that Dean Ambrose is not renewing his contract.
