Gwendolyn Dupont Bettencourt vs. Yuki Onna

Waiting at the Gorilla position, Yuki Onna was waiting for her cue to appear on stage. Tonight, she would be having a match against another big name, Gwendolyn Dupont Bettencourt. Pretentiously long name aside, Yuki had heard of her before as well as her exploits, and the blue-haired Japanese ex-martial artist saw this as an opportunity to make a name for herself. Also, she'd like to test her skills against someone like her and see her own limits as a wrestler.

Then, her music was played, and Yuki would step out of the curtain, and was greeted by the cheers from the crowd. They were quite endeared by her earnest, dedicated demeanor, though there were some of them who were still quite skeptical of her. After all, while she did amaze them with her in-ring skills, some thought that she wasn't as charismatic as many others, calling her too stiff and subdued.

It's not like she could help it. Even so, she'd still like to express her gratitude for their support by waving and bowing politely to the crowd. She wasn't someone to rouse the crowd with pure charisma, and she believed that it's better this way. As long as there were people who appreciated her and the way she wrestled in the ring, that should be enough. So, she headed to the ring, walking down the ramp.

Yuki Onna:

Once she arrived at the ring, she would give the crowd one last bow before entering the ring by climbing up the steel steps and slipping into the ring through the ropes. Once she's in the ring, she took off her oversized sleeves, leaving behind a pair of white armbands with blue frills and wristbands that covered her wrists. Those big sleeves would get in her way if she were to wear them in the match.

As her music faded, Yuki headed to a corner, mentally preparing herself for the match as she waited for her opponent to show herself. She looked at the entrance so that she could see her opponent showing up.

The repeated rapping against the securely locked door of her private dressing room signaled that Gwendolyn's presence would soon be needed, but her beautification process remained unhindered by her dutiful staff. The masterful application of her glossy nail polish and tightening of her wrestling boots being the final touches of Gwen's pre-match routine as she lounged back in the plush beauty chair of her well-furnished room. A nearby HD monitor mounted on the wall showcasing her opponent's entrance would only attract a passing glance from the pompous blue-blood before closing her eye lids once more.

Her self-serving campaign to allow fledgling up and comers the prestigious opportunity to contend with wrestling royalty continuing onward this night with the unassuming and wholly timid creature strolling bashfully down the ramp. One of her nearby attendants clasping a computer tablet than asking Gwendolyn if she would like to be re-familiarized with Yuki's dossier...though her quandary would hardly be overheard by the privileged one as she was already several steps out of the door by the time the attendant had finished speaking.

With the dreaded sound of her imperial theme, so too came the accompanying chorus of boos greeting the haughty dignitary upon lavishly striding out from behind the curtain. Her frilly royal blue and shimmering gold outfit clung tightly to her sumptuous form as she strolled down the ramp accompanied by her four person entourage. Her poised and elegant steps that crossed one leg over the other and smug smile exuding supreme confidence as her flowing robe trailed far behind her. The heiress extending her arms wide and to her side in a grandiose poise akin to her seemingly basking in her own radiance until she finally approached the ring.

Aided inside by her tracksuit clad trainers sitting on middle rope, Gwen approached the middle of the ring and stared intently towards her azure-haired opponent.

"...*sigh*...Yet another sheepish, benign, and demure Japanese waif pandering to the uncivilized and unrefined. A wilting flower who shies away from the sun, now brought to bask before a flourishing and evanescent rose. I do believe some manner of gratitude on your part is well-justified at this point. The prestigious opportunity to contend with one as nobly refined as myself is a distinguished honor not bestowed among many~..." Gwen pompously stated while her entourage disrobed her and removed her shimmering tag-title belt from around her slim waist.

Yuki Onna listened to the imperial theme of her opponent as she finally showed up, accompanied by her entourages down the ramp as they headed over to the ring. And from what she could tell, her opponent, Gwendolyn Dupont Bettencourt, was quite an affluent individual she was capable to afford having her entourages accompanying her towards the ring. In all honesty, Yuki didn't see any point in this display of extravagance besides showing off to everyone that she was unbelievably rich she might as well buy the whole planet if she could help it. Being the heiress of a prominent family of martial artists, Yuki wasn't a stranger to the life of opulence, though she certainly wouldn't go around showing everyone how rich her family was.

Still, she knew that Gwendolyn was someone she should be wary of in the ring, considering that she was a former Entropy Champion and currently one half of the Friction Tag Team Champions. Even so, she saw this as a chance to challenge herself as well as to make herself more well-known, bringing herself above the ranks of your average wrestlers in the roster. If she, a relative beginner, were to beat Gwendolyn, the former Entropy Champion and one half of the Friction Tag Team Champions, it would be quite a great upset in the history of AFW, and she was certain that she would become more well-known.

Then, she listened to Gwendolyn's soliloquy, and she arched up one eyebrow when she heard the Brit calling her a Japanese waif and a wilting flower. Even someone like Yuki could tell that those words were meant to disparage her. While she wasn't one to be easily insulted by others, she was a little bewildered by her opponent's choice of words, as they caught her a little off-guard. Still, she did not let it get to her as she would steel her resolve and step forth upon hearing the referee's instruction.

As per usual, Yuki did not say anything to her opponent, opting to bow her head politely to Gwendolyn like a martial artist would do at the start of a match. The look of determination would adorn her comely visage as she readied herself for her clash against Gwendolyn. And as the bell was rung to officiate the match, Yuki would lunge towards Gwendolyn, not to lock up with her in a contest of strength, but to unleash a shin kick to the side of her abdomen, attempting to catch her off-guard and to stun her with her sudden assault.

"...scintillating repartee, you have." Gwendolyn sarcastically quipped with a deadpan stare after her lengthy diatribe was responded to with  echoing silence. Her first impressions about the shrinking violet before her were apparently ringing truer than she could have surmised, Yuki not even mustering a witty rejoinder or much of any reaction aside from a reserved bow. Gwendolyn not offering one in return as her dutiful entourage had just than unfurled her robe and carefully folded it up as a makeshift cushion for her prestigious tag title belt as they exited the ring to huddle behind her corner ring post.

Instead of returning the mutual sign of respect, her attention would be diverted to the back of her extended hand while she snobbishly examined with a bemused glance how well her manicurist had applied her shimmering nail polish and sculpted her finger nails. An egotistic gesture that riled up the fans fervor until the ringing of the bell snapped Gwendolyn's hazel eyed attention back towards her waif-ish opponent for the night.

Witnessing Yuki approach with a sudden and nimble-footed determination, Gwen reflexively took several steps backward to help give herself more time to anticipate the martial artists incoming opening play. The incoming shin kick accomplishing it's goal of snapping into the side of Gwen's abdomen with stinging repercussions, the heiress's posture crumbling with a suppressed groan...before Gwen glanced back up with a devious sneer while revealing that she had caught Yuki's offending limb in the crook of her arm.

Tucking Yuki's ankle into her armpit while righting her own slouching posture until she was standing tall once more, Gwen simply forced Yuki to hop on one leg for several seconds for her own smug enjoyment before collapsing to the canvas and twisting to the side in an attempted Dragon Screw leg takedown.

Yuki wasn't one to be easily offended, but she was a little dismayed by Gwendolyn not returning the bow, and instead examining her fingernails in a rather haughty manner, though she was also aware that she herself also didn't give her a reply to everything she said earlier. It's just that she's not really that good at responding to others or at bantering in general.

So, Yuki managed to land a hit with shin kick, but soon, she realized that she was unable to pull back her leg as Gwendolyn had trapped her leg, tucking her ankle into her armpit. The crowd was treated with the sight of Yuki awkwardly hopping one-legged. Yuki was about to deliver an Enzuigiri to follow up her attack, but she didn't have a proper footing to do so, which allowed Gwendolyn to execute a Dragon Screw leg takedown, sending Yuki Onna tumbling down into the mat. "Oughh!" She let out a groan as her body hit the canvas with a thud.

Not wanting to be taken advantage of right after being sent into the mat, Yuki instinctively bucked her leg, attempting to get on all four before scrambling back in order to distance herself from her pompous opponent. Apparently, she had failed to take her opponent off-guard with her sudden attack, which implied that Gwendolyn had an excellent reaction time, which made her a very dangerous foe to face in the ring. With the look of grim determination in her face, Yuki would quickly get back on her feet, trying to figure out her next move as she maintained her distance.

Being a seasoned practitioner of particularly destructive kicks herself, Gwen had little trouble in recognizing the onset of one such offense being directed towards her. The sudden stoppage in Yuki's approach once she was in striking distance along with her fighting stance that positioned one of her legs behind her all clued Gwen into the shin kick attempt. The stinging pain in her side wasn't lessened in any way despite her split-second prediction, but it did allow her the foresight to snap an arm around the martial artists ankle and quite literally give Yuki one good leg to stand on.

The few seconds of prostrating the red-eyed waif on one hopping leg was an amusing sight that was sadly short-lived, the privileged aristocrat gracefully spinning in place while holding Yuki's ankle to send both heiress' tumbling in mid-air before collapsing to the canvas. Gwen than releasing Yuki's ankle in mid-twirl and casually shoving herself off of one knee to get back to her feet.

Though Gwendolyn's approach towards the crawling martial artist lacked any form of urgency, instead demonstrating a prim, proper, and poised waltz with one leg crossing the other. A graceful cadence to her haughty stride until she came before Yuki clambering back to her feet...and performed a dignified curtsy, one leg bending behind the other while she bowed her golden-curled head and extended her arms to her sides with a flick or her wrists. An arrogant and flamboyant gesture that generated intensified jeers from the audience as Gwen took a few steps back with a pompous smile on her face. Yuki's formal bow finally being reciprocated, but with one not meant to show mutual respect, and instead reeked of regal pomposity and arrogance...

Clambering back to her feet, Yuki Onna bore witness to Gwendolyn's curtsy, which clearly wasn't meant to be a mutual show of respect, but instead a clear sign of her looking down on her, and Yuki had to keep her calm, knowing that the curly-haired heiress before her was trying to agitate her with that display of pompousness. So, her expression hardened, refusing to give Gwendolyn the satisfaction of seeing her losing her composure. Being someone who's used to keeping her cool, it wasn't a difficult thing to achieve, and before long, Yuki Onna was once again her usual self, composed and unflappable.

So, Yuki would try to get closer again, this time seemingly trying to grapple with her as she lunged at Gwendolyn, but as she got closer to her, she would instead attempt to lower her body, slipping to her back. Being someone with smaller, more slender stature compared to Gwendolyn, she was certain that she was able to move much faster than her, and a successful effort to elude the heiress with the feint would allow her to deliver a kick to the back of Gwendolyn's right knee, hoping to make her lose her balance, in which she was planning to capitalize on by delivering another kick to the side of her head in order to bring her down onto the mat, or so she believed.

The smug satisfaction Gwendolyn garnered from reciprocating Yuki's well-mannered show of respect with a gesture of her own conceited choosing was, to her, well worth potentially sacrificing an early lead in the match. Hammering home the superior caliber of athlete Yuki was now facing easily took precedence over anything else. Since her stone-walled adversary was clearly not intent on communicating verbally with the refined aristocrat, Gwen simply felt compelled to allow her egotistic actions do the talking. A pompous smirk on her face as she backpedaled away from Yuki with clear intentions of continuing with her mind games as the match progressed.

Steeling herself in preparation for whatever form of offense her waif-ish opponent was contemplating next, Gwendolyn adopted the same grappling stance that was presented to her by Yuki. Gwendolyn eagerly extended her arms outward for what she surmised was an amicable lock-up with her adversary obviously abandoning her inferior strikes altogether. Though Gwen's arrogant assumptions were proven altogether wrong in a cerulean-haired flash as Yuki swiftly darted to Gwen's side before sending a speedy side kick to the back her right knee.

"Tch..." Gwen angrily flinched from the stinging strike and immediately buckled from her disjointed posture, one that the heiress would have scant time to straighten before yet another kick was directed to the side of her golden-curled head. A reflexive raising of her arm to shield her face luckily absorbed some of the impact, but not enough to prevent Gwen from tumbling down to the mat and continue doing so until she had rolled to the nearby ropes. One hand clasping them nearby to help steady her ascension back to her feet, with the other still shielding her face and the grimacing scowl underneath.

Despite successfully landing her hits on the pompous blonde, the outcome wasn't the same as Yuki had hoped as Gwendolyn managed to block her kick to her head with her arm, absorbing most of the impact. Stomping her foot on the mat a few times, she would then focus her view on the curly-haired heiress, waiting her to get back on her feet and release the rope. Hoping that the kick from before had knocked a little bit of her strength out of her, Yuki would rush over to her, extending out her arm in her attempt to execute her next move.

Getting closer to Gwendolyn, Yuki would attempt to wrap the extended arm across the chest of the blue-clad heiress, hitting as hard as she could with the strength her small frame could muster while at the same time, sweeping Gwendolyn's leg with her own, hoping to send her tumbling down into the mat with the combination of lariat and legsweep with one of her signature moves, O-Soto-Gari. She was planning to proceed with an elbow drop if such move was successful, and she hoped that it could weaken her opponent more to give herself more advantage in this match.

The continued reliance on her increasingly irritating punts and kicks was an unforeseen outcome that had the heiress reeling against the ropes with a buckled knee and a slight ringing in her ears. An irksome sound that was thankfully dissipating rather quickly thanks to Gwendolyn having blocked the full impact of the kick with the side of her padded glove. Her uptight scheme to provoke Yuki into making a rash decision and in the process give Gwendolyn an opening for her to capitalize on not quite showing the results she was imagining. The scowling blueblood steadily rising back up to her feet while turning in Yuki's general vicinity and directly into a walloping clothesline across her soft chest and a swooping leg sweep.

"Hrggh!!!" The seamless combination sending Gwen's toned legs shooting skyward before the rest of her was sent careening back first into the canvas with a thunderous impact, one that was made even more miserable by Yuki punctuating it with a piercing elbow drop into Gwen's taut abdomen. The piercing strike expelling the air from her lungs as Gwen reflexively curled her knees up and starting shielding her stomach way after the damage had been done. A wincing grimace on her pristine face as she teetered over to lay on her side while still coiled into a ball, the momentum of the match now clearly in Yuki's favor along with the overwhelming crowd support.
