Friction Publication Idea

Hey all, I have been thinking of an idea that may be good or may be a trainwreck.

What if there was a thread for Friction that served as a sort of summary or write-up from the standpoint of an announcer or analyst? For example Lady X and Lady Y have a match and after someone could do a sort of write up in the Friction Publication thread? It can help highlight story arcs, push people a bit, highlight awesome spots, and things of that nature. We could also post a write-up of interviews with characters, or have wrestlers themselves weigh in on matches they saw?

It sounds like it could be cool to me, but what do you all think?

That sounds cool to me XD As long as it's not like the commentary on RAW

I think it's a fun and productive idea. Sorta like a recap thread. We could even have a character or group of characters that edit/write for the publication and people could read the thread/paper for the highlights of certain feuds or matches.

If the idea ever does take off, it would make sense for there to be a weekly/monthly stickied thread with the current edition of the publication.

Maybe like this? It is pretty old and I seriously can not remember ever reading it, but could be used for your idea.

For that thread, all of the updates had to come through to me to write up... But people could just start reusing that thread (or a new one), posting their own updates

Thanks Kelsey and Harrier! Those links were both super helpful! I think something like Friction Burn could be re-started maybe under a different name but the format was pretty much akin to what I had envisioned.

Also thanks Caboose and Winner for the feedback on the idea! If it is cool could we start the new Friction Burn in the next couple weeks?

Not a bad idea, but good luck with:

1. Keeping up with everything going on with Friction/Tension to report it.

2. Picking and choosing what may or may not be "important" or "relevant" enough to put in it.

I don't see how importance or relevance would play in if everyone could post and use it for fun?

I'm sure at the time, I had a reason for thinking that "Friction Burn" was a good name for a news thread. The reason escapes me now, though.

Kind of agree with Tai - the historical evidence is that people don't want to use / update a central news thread.

It's a shame - I feel like it would be beneficial to the site if there was somehow an easy way of keeping track of what was happening in the general universe, without having to rummage through half-finished threads and hoping that people have kept their character bios up to date.

I don't know what the solution is, but I know people would have to be on board with it - I expect that if you tried to start a news thread again now it would fade into obscurity like the others.

If its something everyone can post in, then there's no problem.


I thought it was something one person would write, which could upset people if they didn't get featured in it.
