John Carnaby vs Zoey Hamilton - A lesson in patience

In the back John Carnaby of the UK Elite was getting himself ready for the first match of the year for him, it was singles action this time around. Ryan had gotten John this match to see if his right hand man hadn't gotten any ring rust from when they lost the Tension tag titles, granted John had been promptly put through an intense regime by the paragon of Britain. This was the sort of field test to see if he was back to his former self, not to mention that the master of creation agreed that he needed to keep his 1v1 skills in sharp enough shape. To be the lancer to the Paragon of Britain meant any opponent would need to be defeated.

John was dressed in some new attire, new year meant new things. So the master of creation being who he was had a word with a tailor in Kyoto, John had been quite pleased with the results. It paid a pretty penny, that was small change however compared to the ambitions that Britain's finest had planned for 2017.

Spoiler:

A member of the stage crew knocked on the private locker room of the UK Elite, informing the master of creation that he was due to make his way to the ring. John picked up his trademark blue leather trenchcoat and slung it over his shoulders, giving one last text to his boss that he was entering the ring and stuffing his phone in the locker.

Mr Carnaby walked the hallways as he did so many times, making his way to the curtain to the entrance ramp. Instead of the usual trademark theme of his faction, his solo song would blare from the speakers. March of the wicked king - Remix after the 30 second mark John walked through the curtain, as expected of a member from the UK Elite he got a mixed response. You either liked them or hated them with a very narrow line between, John didn't care much about it though.

John would walk into the ring, making his way to the far right corner and slinging his jacket over the iron ring post. The master of creation hadn't heard much of anything regarding his opponent for tonight, no doubt an intentional thing by his boss to test John. Well he'd roll with the problem, form his opinion and go about it from there. Plus from here he could get a good view of his opponent, wordlessly he began some light stretching to get himself focused for tonight's bout and the first match of his for 2017.....

Zoey had only had a few matches since the new year and none of them had gone her way, truthfully very few of the matches in her last year had gone quite how she'd want them to. So before the match Zoey would be a little bit anxious backstage, even in her new attire she just wasn't feeling refreshed or like she was ready to start a new trend of wins. Clearly there was some issue with her performance, was it the trash talking? Of course not! It had to be something else...

Regardless of her worries the Scot would wait not so patiently backstage, wearing her new white low cut top, her somewhat revealing bottoms and long black boots that covered over her black and white striped socks. She was also wearing long black gloves and a black jacket but she begrudgingly threw the later to the side as she waited for her turn to enter, deciding to ditch that part in the the last few seconds before she entered through the curtains.

Zoey's new attire:

Zoey's experience pre-match was very different from her elitist opponent''s, the bluenette would just have one tired looking official backstage waiting to prompt her to walk through the curtains she was right behind. Eventually her prompt would come and " Danger zone " would blare through-out the arena is Zoey started to enter the ring, to a whole orchestra of mixed and odd reactions, laughing, jeering, chanting and cheering.

Truthfully Zoey had wanted to get completely booed from day one but due to some pretty bad decisions she ended up not quite getting the reaction she wanted, this year though she was considering going in a new direction. Previously she had wanted the crowd to hate her because she was angry at them over cheering when she got dominated, but now she decided to be the bigger woman and ignore them as she walked down the ramp and pulled herself up onto the ring apron.

Zoey would then hear a fan say something rather rude and without thinking would turn to them and call him an " obnoxious twat " which seemed to inspire the crowd to chant for Zoey to clearly get irritated by the crowd before the match as she entered the ring and went to her corner. Now that the bluenette was actually in the ring she could ignore the fans and instead focus on her opponent, he was stretching so he seemed somewhat experienced.

Since Zoey had broken her first new years resolution ( that she had made exactly 10 seconds previous ) she would have a new one, she would try not to be rude to her opponent and be as respectful as possible, new year and a new totally not irritating and despicable Zoey. " Nice to meet you, I'm Zoey " The bluenette would call out, her voice being somewhat close to listless as she seemed to focus her eyes on his body, as if she were about to attack him before the match even began.

Now that everything was out of the way though Zoey would just wait in her corner for the bell to ring, once it did Zoey would walk towards the middle of the ring and offer a test of strength.

John was silent, wondering about things regarding this upcoming match. If he had any sort of ring rust for example, what his opponent was good at and so on. Any real details hadn't been given to the young man prior to this match, no doubt intentional on his boss's behalf to gauge how John was gonna do in with that. Well he was gonna find out now, because here came the opponent for tonight's bout.

First thing John picked up on was the hair, long and blue. Very noticable, much better than the master of creation's. She had a low cut top, long boots. John had to admit the opponent was certainly a cutie, going with a nice contrast with black and white. Another thing that the artist picked up on was the crowd reaction, kinda reminded John of his own.

Though it felt like an undercurrent of something else and sure enough it looked like the fans were soured. Ryan had lectured John on the term heat in the wrestling industry, seemed like she was getting some of that. Zoey retailated to a particular fan, which just agitated them. Ooh boy, not even John ended up getting that amount of heat. Here John was about to be on the receiving part of her anger and frustrations, just his luck.

Still though he'd make a bigger profile once the match got into it, Zoey introduced herself. But her tone seeming being disinterested, John noticed she was seemingly already looking him over. Probably not in the checking him out kinda way, John would be honest. He'd checked her over, Mr Carnaby had an eye for beauty after all.

"Hi there Zoey! I'm John Carnaby, let's have a good match Ms." John said in his usual polite tone, one thing that could be said about the young man was he certainly displayed respect towards his opponents. He took one last deep breath before the bell rung. Zoey was seemingly starting things off, offering to test her strenght against the master of creation. John would move forward and confidently take her hands, he'd not go full push however. Rather the young man would test the waters and see how Zoey would go to expand on this, it'd be a chance to see if he could learn something about her.

Zoey noted that her opponent was polite, that was a relief since otherwise she probably would have ruined her new years resolutions not to assault or insult others. " Yeah, you can drop the Ms. Zoe is fine " the Scot would say, feeling a little bit uncomfortable not being mean for a change as she locked hands with John, having to stretch her arms out somewhat to meet the height between them.

The bluenette would realise that perhaps going for a clean combat of strength was probably a bad idea, especially since her opponent was so much taller than her and knowing Zoey's luck probably just as strong as her. Regardless the Scot would try to grind her heels down and push forward as she tried to force her opponent to move.

Zoey had often not cared if an idea was good or bad and just because she was determined not to be mean, doesn't mean she wanted to drop the simplicity of her strategy which contributed to the Scot loving wrestling so much. Usually Zoey would go for some kind of trick to get advantage in this situation but she wouldn't do that today, instead just trying to force her opponent back and towards the ropes although to say she was struggling to do so would be an understatement.

" You're either going to the ropes or getting your ass launched across the ring " Zoey would mutter out as she pushed against John, her voice being a big gruff as she squeezed the words through her grinding teeth. The bluenette was somewhat breaking her resolution not to be mean, luckily though while that may be somewhat rude or aggressive, but she hadn't crossed into the completely irritating variety yet.

Well this was underway, John thought to himself on what might be going through Zoey's mind. John's polite attitude seemed to have been something Zoey was a bit unaccustomed to, no matter. "Trust me, now that we've started I've dropped it." John stated with a hint of confidence towards the bluenette, the hold that she had started was something that was all too familiar for the master of creation. Plus even if there'd been a hint of ring rust John was assured in his abilities, after all he was a former champion.

It was at this moment that Zoey was probably coming to believe that this course of action was going to be regretted, after all John had the advantage with height and weight. Still she was stubborn in this endeavour in trying to get the master of creation to shift, the young man catching what the blue haired Scot had muttered. John had made sure to follow his boss's advice, keep grounded and aware of all your limbs. Mr Carnaby wouldn't put it past his opponent to try and sweep out his legs from under him, a quick glance down had occurred from him.

"Voicing your plan of action? Not wise, unless your bluffing....." John muttered out in response, in the mind of Carnaby neither of those things the bluenette stated wasn't going to happen. It was time for John to do something in this hold aside from simply standing there, with a smirk he went for the first thing that came to his mind.

Suddenly John would seek to move his left leg in an attempt to sweep Zoey's, if the master of creation succeeded with this before the bluenette fell John would keep hold of her left hand and catch her into a sort of dance pose. The classical one with his left arm around her waist and keeping hold of her left hand with his right. A wry grin would play on John's features before muttering "Ole~" Granted he had a strong feeling Zoey would slap him for this, but one thing John learned from Lucy was that sometimes being unprofessional could be funny....

Zoey would push hard against her, although it seemed John wasn't putting in the same effort. Considering that the bluenette was incredibly proud of her strength she would start to get visibly irritated as she considered going in for the headbutt but trying to force herself to stay in the respective test of strength as she tried to move one of her feet and re-position her weight to get a better vantage point.

Zoey's quick move would prove to be be a mistake as John would swiftly and gracefully slide his left leg against Zoey's in a way that would cause the distracted Zoey to fall somewhat sideways. The bluenette then being caught and pulled into a more than embarrassing pose as John made them look like a pair of ballroom dancers. Of course the Scot didn't react well to this, her face turning red as she heard his "Ole" and causing her to suddenly start pushing against his body and struggling. Likely causing the woman to fall backwards onto her rear.

"Omft" Zoey would breath out, falling somewhat harshly on her rear as she looked up at her opponent will passionate but angered eyes. The scot deciding now that new years resolutions were stupid and that she was breaking hers at the first chance she got. The Scot would hear the crowd laughing and would feel incredibly embarrassed, trying to quickly push against the mat to get to her feet.

If Zoey managed to get to her feet quick enough then she would prove that John's foresight had been somewhat correct. Zoey throwing herself forward but instead of going for a quick slap like John likely expected the Scot would throw her fist forward and try to shift her body as she let her body be carried by the momentum. The bluenette attempting to land a wild, weighty and likely powerful punch right into John's cheek.

Yeah John had a feeling that was gonna end up getting him hit, truth be told he only really did it for the heck of it. That and to show how confident he was in his chances of winning, Zoey didn't seem like the type that would be enticed by the master of creation's dance skills anyway. She didn't seem to have a good step anyway, given how she fell on her backside after wriggling about. Zoey was probably going to retaliate and fast, John had no prior knowledge of what his opponent was really like. How she didn't have a long fuse, or really one at all for that matter.

Inwardly John braced himself, something told him Zoey would be too quick to react. Fuelled by the slight inflicted against her. That would certainly seem to be the case, and it wasn't a simple slap. Nope Zoey wanted to unleash her wrath. The next thing John knew he got clonked hard with a punch.

"Yeow!" John yelped out, dang that hurt. Zoey clearly didn't hit like her cute appearance would suggest, the young man staggered backwards a bit before slumping down to one knee himself. Clutching his cheek before planning to get himself back up while looking at the bluenette, needless to say the master of creation knew one thing. His opponent could certainly hurt, as well as having quite the temper.

"Not much of a dancer anyway." John muttered, just to get that out there.

Zoey would watch with slight satisfaction as her opponent stumbled backwards, seeing him in pain did slightly alleviate her embarrassment. Truthfully the Scot felt like something was missing from her pay back though, she didn't quite like causing pain as much as she did humiliation and so it was clear to Zoey how she had to follow through.

After a slight second of thought the Scot would break out into a run to cover the distance between the bluenette and her fellow Brit. Once Zoey was about to bump into her opponent though she would turn her body around and try to launch herself hips first at her opponent. Zoey trying to nail John with a momentum carried hip attack.

Seeing as her opponent was a former championship holder Zoey likely could have gotten lots of information gathered to help her in this fight, that just wasn't her style though. Zoey would know almost as little about John as he knew about her, just the Scottish women had far less excuse not to look into her opponent. Zoey was definitely the underdog in this match but no matter what situation the Scot was stuck in she would probably never consider herself the underdog.

If everything went according to plan then Zoey would look down at her hopefully grounded opponent before yet again breaking her new years resolution. " Oh would you look at that! Turns out the best way to take down an ass is with another ass" The bluenette would tease, seeming somewhat more satisfied about her payback now.

John had to admit that smack had caught him off guard there, in fact it briefly reminded the young man of Lucy. Who had at times smacked him from out of nowhere with things, one time it was a wet fish. It seemed as though John was starting to see that similar vibe with Zoey, but it was most definitely not a good one. The short temper and stinging hit served to make John think that perhaps he shouldn't be too assured that he was going to win this, again it had been sometime since the master of creation actually competed.

With this new fact in mind John had begun to get ready and prove that he still had his prowess that he possessed as a former title holder, but Zoey though was on the attack. Lunging literally back first right at the master of creation, that was something he didn't expect. The ample rear of Zoey hit its mark, though John had his arm covering himself earlier. John let out a loud grunt as he got knocked back down, that said the attack had certainly been unexpected. He laid there blinking rapidly as he processed just what happened, though Zoey's remark brought him back down to Earth.

Well a wide number of people were probably very envious of what just happened to the master of creation, but he knew the intent of Zoey's actions there even if it might have felt nice. John in spite of himself couldn't stop from having a flustered expression on his face, however he quickly wizened up and remembered what he was to be doing. "Argh! Really?!" John shouted. The master of creation would stand back up as quick as he could, and using his strength would proceed to fling Zoey off to the ropes with an Irish whip. Starting it by giving her a hard smack on her backside and then throwing her towards them, this match had just begun and while John usually considered himself a nice guy he was starting to feel this chick was needing a lesson in manners.

Zoey would look down upon John's body and just grin cockily at him until he got up to his feet, she was glad that her humiliating but effective move had been useful against someone as accomplished as John. it was satisfying for the bluenette to get a little bit of payback against him after the momentary embarrassment she had just felt, in Zoey's mind the dept had been payed and now all that was left was to have a hard fought match.

The Scottish wrestler would even let John up to his feet while making a mocking bow towards him, of course it was somewhat sloppy but she was certain it would return the sentiment that his dancing had sent her. Zoey would quickly be punished for spending too much time trying to get under John's skin when the former champion quickly rushed Zoey and tightly grasped her arm before slapping her in the rear, prompting the bluenette to let out a surprised squeal as she was sent running towards them.

Just as fast as the Scottish wrestler had gained control she seemed to lose it again, running towards the ropes and turning her back against them before then rebounding back towards John. Zoey didn't exactly have much time to think of a plan of attack and most likely would not be ready for her opponent's offence as she stumbled back towards him.
